SCARE TACTICS ARE FOR THE WEAK!

Can anyone answer how we will end up with a UNION CONTROLLED board when only 1 of the 5 candidate have belonged to a union.(Unless Bitner and Vaughn have and aren't admitting it, they never show up to answer questions because they cannot think for themselves).

Part of being in an election is running and putting everything out for the public to base a decision on (including the company you work for, which Vaugn did but Bitner didn't).

Makes one ask:

What are they hiding?
What are they afraid of?
What kind of representatives would they be?

Only candidates who have the fortitude to show up for public debates deserve to be considered.

Only the EDUCATED should lead our EDUCATORS.

You win elections with the power of the argument you make, not by casting unneeded aspersions. Ms. Jobe obviously believes in what she is doing is a victim of those who mislead her.

Vote for the ones who did not have anything to do with dumbing down our curriculum at the high school.

And any way you cut it, it will NOT be a union controlled board. Scare tatics are often used by cowards who feel the need to intimidate others to their side instead of logical arguments.
Union control of public money is generally a recipe for disaster come negotiation time. The evidence is clear as you look around the country from San Bernadino, CA to Chicago, IL to Washington DC. More money flows from taxpayers to union coffers often at the expense of those they are supposed to serve.

Union controlled boards negotiating with unions leaves the taxpayer on the hook for years into the future, benefits no one but the union and its members, and at the expense of the children.

Vote for the ones not affiliated with the union.

Good to know our high school is #97 and only Monroe #90, Waynesville #53, Centerville #49, Lebanon #48, Brookville #41, Bellbrook #37, Mason,#35, Kings Mill #23, and Oakwood #9 stand in front of us locally.

Trouble is not enough of our students are prepared to take advanced courses in the high school.

Couple that with our 21% College Readiness score (this is the number of 12th graders with passing scores on A/P exams) and you see why we are remarkably that lowly rated by USNEWS.

For a place with a 40% gifted student population, that is severely under performing.

What has Mr. Malone been doing for 13 years?

They way I have always heard our district being described was with a 40% gifted population.

Given our obvious resources with a student population which has 40% gifted children, awesome teachers, great facilities, and lots of electives, should we be so far behind Lebanon, Waynesville, or Centerville?

Just think if the prior principal, Mr. Malone, had put as much effort into running an academic powerhouse as he did into cultivating his own personal cult of personality where our kids would be now?

The difference between those schools that are high rated and us who barely edges out Franklin and Carlisle are the amount of kids involved in a culture of high expectations.

In our school its 1 out of 5, in really good schools its more like 1 out of 2.

Considering the fact that 90% or so of our kids go onto college, it seems like it might have be a good idea to have a real college prep program in place rather than one that discourages academic challenges.

The professional peers who evaluated our program of study came to the same conclusions when the Warren County Education Service Center had a chance to issue its reports for the High Schools That Works program.

page 10 2nd paragraph

https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bxs0_xA64y_HS ...

"SHS still offers general level classes (Algebra 1A and 1B, physical science, US History, and World History). Thus, not all students experience a college-preparatory curriculum. Documents provided to the TAV Team indicate that contrary to the High Schools That Works philosophy, SHS believes that offering low-level courses is in the best interest of students. This belief, however, WAS NOT SUBSTANTIATED by research or data."

Mr. Malone had 13 years at the helm.

What are his primary accomplishments?

Dumbing down the strength and rigor of our children's curriculum.

Kids might be fooled due to lack of real world experience, thinking adults have such reason.

It was never about the money, it was about the will to raise the level of expectations and the incumbent changes necessary to drive the level of achievement higher.

Mr. Malone year after year was encouraged to raise the bar, he responded just the opposite.

Mr. Malone spent inordinate amounts of time attempting to get more money from the community.

Ten years ago it was noted by David Baker, then Superintendent, on Mr. Malone's performance evaluation summary:

"Dr. Malone has been a strong supporter of our bond levy and continues to devote large amounts of time to this project"

If only he would have paid as much attention to the High Schools That Works recommendations on improving our schools.

Even David Baker was pushing for more rigor in our high school.

In August 2008, one of the goals he gave Mr. Malone was to increase the amount of participation in our A/P program.

#11) Increase student enrollment in rigorous courses (AP and Honors) by 15%.

I think everyone knows how that goal turned out.

The Warren County Education Service Center audit report from December 2010 had this to say:

"Although SHS offers numerous AP courses and PSEO options, only 20 percent students report they attempted to earn college credit during high school. This is a DECREASE of 43 percent from 2008, and 60 percent below the HSTW goal. See Table 8. "

Mr. Baker asked for a 15% increase in 2008, Mr. Malone delivered a 43% DECREASE two years later.

What is left to be said?

Vote for the guys who did not dumb down the high school curriculum.

What has Mr. Malone been doing for 13 years?
Inquiring Minds would ask Springboro Parent, MR. Wiedeman,

What have you been doing for 13 years during which time,
Mr. Malone was wasting Taxpayers money, and dumbing down
curriculum to the detriment of a quality classroom education
for our student (including your own)?

Up until 2011 (after Springboro parent/board member, Kelly
Kohls made it an issue in 2010 after coming on board as our
first ever conservative elected official)...
one in four (23%) Springboro High School graduates could not meet the minimum competency requirements to get into Ohio State colleges.

While it is proven now that Mr. Malone wasted our hard earned tax dollars during his time of employment; isn't it now "beating a dead horse" to continue your rants in the direction of a fanatic who can't change the past and won't change the subject? ectrionthis

Educated in what? What can Malone bring to the board room from his 13 year experience as high school principal? Oh, I know! He's got tons of experience at bull####ing his way through petty conversation of his own making. Yeah, that experience will come in real handy during future contract negotiations with the SEA.

Of course every voter in this district has rock solid confidence that conflicts of interest CANNOT develop between a former teacher, or a former principal, and a teacher's union with which they will very likely negotiate with in the future.
(-;

Do you really wanna know about Stuckey's competence as an educator? I suggest you start by speaking with juniors and seniors at the high school to get their opinions. Many of them will say Stuckey had a reputation for allowing students to cheat on tests because he'd often leave the classroom to take cell phone calls. Do you consider showing of movies in the classroom to be "education" for our children? Stuckey does! LOTS and LOTS of movies! Isn't it interesting how certain "educated" educators will tend to overuse crutches when they discover their own teaching skills to be inadequate?
