You know, it's funny how so many on this site are adamant about making sure Bitner and Vaughn are voted in but yet nothing about who they are and what makes them such a good candidate. Can they think for themselves or are they just going to do as they are told from Petroni and Rigano? A real man can talk for himself but I don't see anything that says Bitner and Vaughn have a mind of their own.

Also, if Vaughn's mother in law was a school librarian, then wouldn't she have ties to the union and by DW's standards make Vaughn a union thug? HMMM...

DW, you continually complain about Dr. Malone but have you taken a look at the high school lately. We have an incompetent administration. They actually spent 10-15 minutes interrupting class because they couldn't figure out why the intercom was beeping. Myers actually talked over the intercom admitting they had no idea why it was beeping so he continued to talk for a while then spent many minutes with his hand on the button so everyone could hear what was going on in the office. This is ridiculous!

As for the education that our students are getting, do you really think that the work that this board is doing is going to benefit the students? They have made plans now to move forward with online classes as a work around for educating the more than 400 extra students that are coming up to the HS over the next couple of years. Do you really think that online classes where students cannot easily interject their opinions is improving their critical thinking? This board spent weeks/months regarding the debate that controversial topics be discussed from all sides but now we are going to accept online classes where we have no say in the matter. Again, this board is ONLY focused on money and now the students!

Wake up - we need a BOE that actually cares about the student's education!

According tothe campaign flyer for the Malone/Suckey/Anderson school board candidates,
voters are told nothing about these three men, except "It's Simple." The way forward is clear.
Leadership! Stability! Experience!

The campaign flyer informs voters that, if elected, we pledge together to:

Promote solidarity in our community, our board and our schools.

Redefine the role of a school board member.

Work to build internal school district unity.

Expand educatinal opportunities for students.

Protect the needs, interests and concerns of our whole community.
_______

Wake Up People! We need a BOE that actually cares about the student's education!

Why would our community vote for a Malone/Stuckey/
Anderson threesome that is not a good fit with our 21st Century Education Today and in the Future; and who "pledges" they will have to re-define the role of the BOE in order to
re-instate Malone's status quo?
(Wake up People! We don't need more malone stats quo "business as usual" wasting time and school tax dollars sitting around eating donuts, talking about the "way we
were" back in the glory days of the good old boys in the union hall!)

STAY ALERT VOTERS! We need a BOE that actually cares about the student's education!
We need to elect BOTH David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn as our next TWO, Parents supporting Springboro students, school board representatives.

BOTH David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn are already on board with the current board's winning agenda of
putting students first, and BOTH David Bitner and
Kolton Vaughn already support the progress made by our current board in the past two years!

BOTH David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn have a clear vision of themselves, being successful with the will and the skill, in the role of a reform minded BOE member, and BOTH
David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn are a perfect fit
with the challenges that lie ahead in our 21st Century quality classroom education for all
Springboro students!

BOTH David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn are Boro
Strong and ready to get to work on January 1, 2014, as our new school board representatives!

BOTH David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn support our coorinated thechology plan with wireless access for every building, laptops to every teacher and more than 1100 new computers! NO FEAR OF CHANGE
because BOTH David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn are
parents who are living the changes of their children's 21st century education... and that's a
good thing for ALL Springboro Students First.

BOTH David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn support
our Renewal levy that saves taxpayers $6.5 million!
...and that is an absolutely amazingly awesome
thing! Hooray for Us!

Vote FOR BITNER/VAUGHN on November 5th!
Vote FOR Renewal Levy!

Obviously you have don't understand online class instruction delivery. It is now a creditable method of instruction and utilized by most major universities. Students are able to interject their opinions in online classes. They get prompt feedback from instructors, comment on classmates post (i.e. opinions), and in many online classes they can even have live classroom discussions. This is not just students sitting in front of a computer screen reading words. It offers flexibility in instruction and is being embraced by youth/college students who have grown up with technology.

Again, this represents another innovative idea by the BOE and current administration that the MSA supporters will poo-poo just because it wasn't an idea from their side. Do you get it, times are a changing and old methods of educating just don't cut it. Brick and mortar buildings, students sitting at desks, and teachers standing in the front of the class is quickly becoming the way of the past. Problem is, many of those who can vote on Tuesday do not know any other way.

Wake up! We currently do have a BOE who cares about a student's education!

This is the best that you have to offer as evidence of incompetence?

Let's talk about real levels of incompetence that matter in running our school and not providing the level of education the taxpayers were expecting for the money they gave.

Even Superintendent David Baker was pushing for more rigor in our high school.

In August 2008, one of the goals he gave Mr. Malone was to increase the amount of participation in our A/P program.

"#11) Increase student enrollment in rigorous courses (AP and Honors) by 15%."
I think everyone knows how that goal turned out.

The Warren County Education Service Center audit report from December 2010 had this to say:

"Although SHS offers numerous AP courses and PSEO options, only 20 percent students report they attempted to earn college credit during high school. This is a DECREASE of 43 percent from 2008, and 60 percent below the HSTW goal. See Table 8. "

Mr. Baker asked for a 15% increase in 2008, Mr. Malone delivered a 43% DECREASE two years later.

Let us discuss various levels of incompetence and which one negatively impacted children the most.

Vote for the three who had nothing to do with dumbing down our high school curriculum.

Vote Bitner, Vaughn, and Anderson.

Now that we all know...

that BOTH David Bitner AND Kolton Vaughn
should be elected as our next TWO school board representatives,

And Now that we know what we all need to do for THREE MORE DAYS...

Please take some time to enjoy walking through our beautiful neighborhoods, staying alert to opportunities to tell others why you are voting your beliefs in just TWO school board candidates, David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn!

Spread the great news! BOTH David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn support
our school districts belief that the future belongs to technology.
It is absolutely essential that we recognize technology not as a means to an end, but as a conduit through which knowledge flows. Much like the wires that flow to our houses bringing electricity, our technology investments are being made to ensure the future flow of knowledge to our children.

Our school district leaders and board representatives need to be ready to meet our educational challenges coming up at the first of next year; and there is no place on our BOE leadership board for elected officials with an identify crisis, wasting time on re-defining the role of a board member!

We need BOTH David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn as our next TWO board representatives, who are already on board with our current board's leadership expertise, parents supporting Springboro students, maintaining fiscal integrity!

Look at Today and the Future!
Vote November 5th to Elect
BOTH David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn
for Springboro School Board!

It's for our children, our community and toward a better future for our schools!

Tell It Like It Is pointed out earlier that a campaign slogan for the Malone Stuckey Anderson is "Leadership, Stability, Experience".

Lets break this down...

Leadership? As former principal and history teacher, what legitimate leadership skills does Malone and Stuckey possess... other than working with students?
Stability? During the time the Booster scandal was festering, Malone failed in not taking responsibility. While this scandal burned Malone continued to play with his fiddle.
Experience? Both Malone and Stuckey have lots of experience in Boro schools. However, we must remember the job of a school board member is to create and interpret policy, NOT to administer policy. The importance of keeping policymaking and administration separated, but in close communication with each other, is the key reason why the superintendent, treasurer and business manager should be be an integral component of every district's school board meetings.

An honest, functional school board member must work hard to represent the ENTIRE community...students, parents, teachers and staff, businesses, as well as interests and well-being of the average taxpayer.
Taking their histories into consideration, it's extremely likely that both Malone and Stuckey would lean heavily toward interests of students and staff, at the expense of businesses and the average taxpayer.

Vote your CONSCIENCE!
Vote for the BEST THREE!
Vote BITNER, VAUGHN & ANDERSON !

Can we trust the judgement of these who are openly campaigning to
split the Conservative Team of Parents Supporting Students First,
DAVID BITNER and KOLTON VAUGHN?

Long-time "just sitting on the board" pro-union Don Miller
endorses splitting the Conservative Team and voting for
only one of the conservatives, Kolton Vaughn.

NFSS member/Union Activists/Boosters Board Officer
Tiffany Carlisle is campaigning to split the Conservative ticket of BITNER/VAUGHN by endorsing ONLY one conservative school
board candidate, Kolton Vaughn.

Paid for by private citizen sign maker, Doug Weideman, is
putting big bucks where his big mouth is bloviating on this topix
discussion his "one man battle agains the union" question: How would a union controlled school board spend your tax dollars?

(Excuse me, Sir, but where have you been for the past five years?
Until Dr. Kelly Kohls came on board in 2010, "a union controlled school board" ran a continuous stream of unnecessary levies, based on a false budget crisis, holding parents hostage over things like school/sports fees and busing. Springboro parent, Kelly Kohls,
was the first elected official to question the emotional blackmailing of our long-time "union controlled school board"
and the first board member ever to state in public meeting
opposition to putting another unnecessary levy on the ballot,
after educated Springboro voters had already just said NO
to four levies requesting increased taxes.)

Private citizen, Doug Weideman, in previous posts on this topix, has falsely accused board member, Dr. Kelly Kohls, of letting
go $90,000 of taxpayers money; and that is a lie; even so,
Doug Weideman has not posted an apology on this topix blog.

Private citizen, Doug Weideman, has reminded us on this blog that he has found new respect for long-time "just sitting on the board"
Don Miller, who has always just "gone along with the pressure of
Malone's status quo" no questions asked, just to get along with
union solidarity. This new respect was posted on this blog after
school board member Don Miller endorsed only ONE conservative candidate, Kolton Vaughn.

Mr. Weideman has also reminded readers of this Topix blog that
"WE The People" owe a note of thanks to NFSS/union activist leader and Sprigboro parent, Lisa Babb, "because she at least stood up for what she believed to be best for "the children."

Mr. Weideman also reminded readers of this Topix blog that he
had lost respect for our BOE President, Springboro Parent
Kelly Kohls, who is the FIRST Springboro Parent to publicly question Malone's status quo leadership, keeping our students left behind his union-first priority during his past 13 years of
non-professional service as SHS principal.

People in this community should ask themselves IF we can trust the judgement of our fellow citizens who are campaigning to split
the Conservative Team of school board candidates, David Bitner
and Kolton Vaughn. Why would our community want to do that?
