No matter who wins, the sun will rise Nov. 6th. Scare tactics in politics DO NOT WORK. Ask Romney.
Scare Tactics in politics is the only thing that works, as was proven in 2012 presidential election. Ask Romney. Wars are not won by kind words and placation, and neither are elections; thus the saying goes... nice guys finish last.

Republicans are beat down by liberal badgering and bullying
and become fearful of loosing elections IF they do not become
more like their Democrat opposition; more and more the line between the Two parties is blurred; and the only ones looking in from the outside, seeing the truth, are personally attacked and politically persecuted; and it is just a matter of time till
"responding with polite resistance" just breaks down the will to stand opposed to the liberal's progressive agenda; and Ohio is one of the most oppressed states by the union's progressive controlling agenda -- and it's all LEGAL!
The union has the Money and the Power of Politics in Ohio...

The SEA has the power of politics in our school district;
but at least since 2008, the voters have had the common sense
of voting to keep control of our school tax dollars; failing five unnecessary levies and voting for Children's First school board
members in both the elections of 2009 and 2011.

Voters in this school district have seen through the emotional blackmailing and spreading of lies that the SEA/union activists continuously spread in attacking Springboro Taxpayers and our conservative elected BOE members; and no doubt the business as usual Malone status quo attacks against Taxpayers will not change, no matter in which direction the school board election goes.
There is encouragement in the November 5th election that our
Renewal Levy will pass, and a double encouragement to taxpaying homeowners that we do have TWO school board candidates who support
our Children First budgeting agenda, that are "down in the trenches" fighting with taxpayers at the polls to vote their
beliefs in electing these two common sense/fiscal responsible
candidates, David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn, as our next TWO
board representatives. No matter who wins, responsible citizens will continue the fight against the Union, ensuring FIRST a quality classroom education for all Springboro students, while
living within our community means of "no new taxes."

David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn FOR
Springboro School Board

Achievement and opportunity gaps at the SHS cannot be closed unless a climate of high expectations exists for all students from Kindergarten through High School. Staying within the fiscal confines that our taxpayers have set is the challenge and requires fresh ideas.

The January 2013 Warren County Educational Service Center audit report performed by professional educators reviewing our high school program of studies had this to say regarding the direction MR. MALONE STEERED THE ACADEMIC PROGRAM:

"Documents provided to the Tactical Assistance Visit Team indicate that contrary to the High Schools That Work philosophy (high schools that work is a program to enhance education for children)SHS BELIEVES THAT OFFERING LOW LEVEL COURSES IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF STUDENTS.
This belief, however, WAS NOT SUBSTANTIATED by
research or data."

DAVID BITNER and KOLTON VAUGHN FOR
SPRINGBORO SCHOOL BOARD

WE BELIEVE for too long our leadership was not motivated, content with the status quo, leaving too many children underserved. The direction we head now is sustainable, it creates opportunity, it offers balance, and it states the truth.

WE BELIEVE in order to deliver the highest level of education we must raise the bar will past the state minimums and strive to challenge our children, parents, and staff to reach higher.

WE BELIEVE that allocating resources from areas of less demand to areas of greater demand is one common sense approach to resolving needs in our schools.

WE BELIEVE that in order to take advantage of the higher level classes at the high school, more children must be put on that track at earlier grade levels.

LOOK AT TODAY AND THE FUTURE!
__________
IF YOU BELIEVE, AS BITNER/VAUGHN, PLEASE JOIN US
IN VOTING TO ELECT DAVID BITNER AND KOLTON VAUGHN AS OUR NEXT TWO BOARD REPRESENTATIVES.

VOTE YOUR BELIEFS IN OUR CHILDREN'S FIRST BEST INTEREST IN EVERY DECISION BEING MADE BY OUR
SCHOOL BOARD REPRESENTATIVES!

VOTE FOR DAVID BITNER and KOLTON VAUGHN
VOTE FOR RENEWAL LEVY THAT SAVES TAXPAYERS $6.5 MILLION!

Springboro High School is ranked 97th within Ohio. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® course work and exams. The AP® participation rate at Springboro High School is 25 percent. The student body makeup is 53 percent male and 47 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 7 percent. Springboro High School is the only high school in the Springboro Community City.
Test Scores
U.S. News calculates these values based on student performance on state exit exams and internationally available exams on college-level course work (AP®/IB exams).
Proficient in Reading 98%
Proficient in Math 97%
College Readiness Index 21.2
Pretty "PROFICIENT" if you ask me.

*Ohio Graduation Test taken in the spring of the sophomore year, its like taking the 5th grade test at the end of your 6th grade year.

No Debate about it, sadly PROFICIENT equals FAILING.

Good to know our high school is #97 and only Monroe #90, Waynesville #53, Centerville #49, Lebanon #48, Brookville #41, Bellbrook #37, Mason,#35, Kings Mill #23, and Oakwood #9 stand in front of us locally.

Trouble is not enough of our students are prepared to take advanced courses in the high school.

Couple that with our 21% College Readiness score (this is the number of 12th graders with passing scores on A/P exams) and you see why we are remarkably that lowly rated by USNEWS.

For a place with a 40% gifted student population, that is severely under performing.

In 2012, Dr. Ron Malone, who had been a SHS
principal for 12 years, was asked to move to central office where he could assist with curriculum for all levels of Springboro schools.

Dr. Malone declined to use his 40 years of educational experience to Our Students First
best interest; and an absolute fiasco followed.
According to the DDN reports, Mr. Maney reported that he and his staff were not happy with Mr. Malone's new job offer;
(It was also reported in the DDN that one student of Mr. Malone's had to interrupt her OGT so that she could email the school board, telling them of her disapproval of the job offer; one student declared that she could not thrive in her education without her daily "smile" and "have a good day" from Mr. Malone.)
A special executive BOE meeting was called
and held (out of order because only Scott Anderson and Don Miller showed up) and the TV camera and the protesters clamoroing "re-instate Malone."
I don't recall a single complaint from parents nor staff about our school "being in the news" as this great job opportunity for Dr. Malone was turned into a witch hunt and public meeting interrogation, demonizing and personally attacking three board members. The protest rally to re-instate Dr.Malone was ended by high school students lining up in the school auditorium,
disrespectfully taunting school board member asking which one was lying, and finally ended with a threat of revenge to vote them out of office as soon as they were old enough to vote. It was absolutely shocking for community taxpayers to
get a glimpse of Mr. Malone's self inflated tunnel vision educatinal leadership of our children's education! What a waste of our school tax dollars!

But even more shocking was it to learn that just shortly after Dr. Malone had caused this fiasco; that he asked our new school superintendent
to be considered for this same position that he had refused to take in the best interest of all our students... AND THE POSITION WAS FILLED BY THEN!

And just like that, Mr. Malone asked for a BUYOUT
for him to retire (lol...again!) and again, Mr. Malone got exactly what he rallied for!

So why all these awards at our buildings?
EASY TO EXPLAIN!
As districts start to FAIL levies (and we have successfully with common sense voters failed FIVE
levies)...just like that, they all of a sudden start getting AWARDS! All symbolism; no substance!

The education machine works over all taxpayers and gives the amo to the districts. If you call the Blue Ribbon award center and ask WHY Springboro got this distinguished award, they can tell you.... BECAUSE THEY APPLIED!!!!

When asking them if our AP courses were calculated in, they will tell you possibly--not ever knowing our numbers were poor. If you ask them if it was our PSEO participation, the will tell you probably, not knowing that ours were poor again.

Every entity in education works like a well oiled machine to scam you out of your money to further the agenda "Celebrate Professional Educators; We are WONDERFUL!... all the while our students fail!

In Springboro 1/3rd of our students fail the State standardized tests! And that's a Wasteful Thing with our hard earned tax dollars!

EDUCATE SPRINGBORO endorses BITNER, VAUGHN and ANDERSON

http://educatespringboro.org/2013/10/23/in-th...

...Educate Springboro supports a slate of three candidates, Charles Anderson, David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn for Springboro Board of Education. David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn bring their perspective as parents, taxpayers and concerned citizens to provide more balance in board perspectives. We are also confident that with the addition of the business acumen Charles Anderson has accumulated in his many years of service to the community, our district can continue to be sustainable. Keeping our students as the first priority, supporting our teachers, and being the voice of the community in public education is our goal. The addition of Anderson, Bitner, and Vaughn aid us all in accomplishing that goal.

Educate Springboro is also FOR the renewal. Issue 14 is a reduced renewal levy. In good faith, we’ve balanced the budget and met our obligations. When it became clear that the district could meet its needs with less money, the board voted to request lower millage in the renewal levy in November. Not only have we proven that we can live within our means, but now every stakeholder in this district—our students and families, our staff and teachers, and the taxpayers--will benefit.

Please join Educate Springboro in voting

FOR DAVID BITNER for School Board, and

FOR KOLTON VAUGHN for School Board, and

FOR CHARLES ANDERSON for School Board, and

FOR ISSUE 14 for our school district.

Let's just go over your list of accomplishments for a second and see exactly if it is truly the students or the parents that are benefitting from the changes - as I recall, the students should come first but I believe you will see for yourself, the students are last in line.
holding people accountable, uncovering

embezzlement that had gone on for years .... I'm glad that this was uncovered. However the board's decision to make public statements, directly opposing the wishes of the police, may not have helped the investigation, in fact some may say that it caused a hindrance. Also, holding one coach accountable without showing any just cause did not sit well with many students - so was this to help the parents or the students.

raising academic standards.... What is this statement based on? Exactly what standards have been raised - please be specific. From what I have seen, the HS has reduced the number of electives, limiting the classes students can take - hurting students.

increasing ACT scores.... How is this an accomplishment of the board? And from what DW has been touting on this site, Dr. Malone has done everything to reduce scores for the past five years (of which the board has been in power some of those years). If anything the ACT scores have been increased in spite of the board.

advocating for kids to take classes for college credit.... Yes, they are advocating for the students to leave the high school as soon as possible so they don't have to hire more teachers. Please show me some stats as to how this is really best for the student. When I was in school, you went through grades K-12 to prepare for college. This board believes you should be in college at the same time - all to reduce costs to parents.

restoring salary increases.... You have got to be kidding - how can this board take credit for restoring salary increases but not give credit to the teachers for agreeing to forgo salary increases to help the district - completely hypocritical. Also, wasn't it this board that refused to negotiate with the teachers which brought us near the point of a strike BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE THEM RAISES????

controlling runaway medical insurance costs.... Again, this is so hypocritical of this board to take all the credit for this when the teachers were completely willing to negotiate on this (and they did).

balancing the budget (and giving the excess back).... Yet to be seen, how this will affect the district - looks like the forecast for expenses is quickly rising (new cooler, dual credit classes, 420 new students in the HS over the next two years, etc.). How are these new expenses reducing the excess funding? Could it be that the extra money could be used to hire teachers to teach electives rather than forcing students to take online classes.

providing services for gifted students.... Really, we were graded a "D" in gifted services. Please explain how in the world this board HAS provided services for gifted students.

reducing pay-to-play fees and increasing student participation.... That's wonderful that the board is taking credit for reducing the pay to play fees but no word on how they complain over and over again about how the sports are not funding themselves. Oh and they also fail to mention that the money that is not being raised by the pay-to-play fees is being made up by pushing more fundraising by the very same people that would have paid the pay to play fees.

upgrading technology for online learning.... Again the board is quick to take credit for this but avoids disclosing the reason why it was done. The online testing requirement was forcing the board to institute more technology into the classroom. If it had not been for this state requirement, technology would not have been updated so quickly! Also, ask any student - how is the wifi in the buildings. Every student I have talked to has said there has been problems.

instituting bring your own technology.... But yet any misuse will be blamed on the teachers, which limits the use because teachers are not willing to take the blame.

reinstating high school busing.... Who exactly did this benefit? I don't know too many (if any HS) students who really want to ride the bus to school. Also, as I recall, the board refused to add money in the forecast for the purchase of new buses two years ago after many parents stood up and told them they needed to. But a year later they are taking the credit for buying new buses - funny how that works.

reinstating textbook purchases.... Not sure what textbooks have been purchased - although there were some new requirements (and I believe books purchased) for the Common Core - that we are considering not adopting - so did we actually need the books that were purchased. However, there were complaints by the language departments in the HS that their books were out of date, but no new books were bought.

reinstating a building maintenance program.... And also a building neglect program (JW). As I see it, the maintenance happens as needed (or as in many cases in emergency).

and correcting numerous other deficiencies from years of administrative neglect.... Since you didn't bring up anything else I will add a few more things that this board has done. They caused enough commotion in the district that over 20% of teachers left. Many retired early to distance themselves from this board (I'm sure the board will claim they offered early retirement to help the teachers but in fact it was done to reduce costs as stated clearly in the board meeting when it was decided - nothing about state retirement changes). The board has then hired in many replacements - with obviously less experience (but I'll give it to the board, they are definitely cheaper). How is having all new administrators good for students - the board has said themselves that everyone is going to have to work to help get these administrators up to speed with the district.

This board has also moved to change policies in the district which caused a lot of disruption in the board room and for what? The one policy change that caused the most disruption wouldn't have changed the policy at all. They added the word "creationism" to the policy when the policy clearly stated before that controversial issues be discussed from both sides. What good did it do to add the words "creationism".

Lastly, because of this board, the district has lost just about every one (if not all) of it's central office personnel. The treasurer, district manager, Superintendent, etc. The current curriculum director was an elementary school principal. The current HR person used to be an elementary school principal.

OK, so who is this ES who endorses Anderson?

And why does ES endorses Anderson keep popping up on this blog?

If you are trying to blot out of the wee little minds of voters,
the deeply embedded advertisement of the big black signs of the Malone/Stuckey/Anderson threesome; isn't that like too little, too late to come from behind and steer the voters minds in the direction of Anderson, Bitner, and Vaughn?

The campaign to vote for Anderson, Bitner and Vaughn is unevenly yoked, because it steers the Bitner/Vaughn campaign in the direction of an identity crisis, and that's a confusing thing.
At this late date, why is so much attention given to the weaknesses of Malone and Stuckey; why not focus on the strengths
of Bitner and Vaughn, instead of turning this election into a
one-man battle against the union? How ironic, the one-man battling the union is not even running for school board election,
but leading the charge "ES Endorses Anderson." What's up with
that?

Ever heard the old biblical saying "you can't put New Wine
in old wineskins?"

Well, having all new administrators is good for students; because
as history proves, old administrators (including Dr. Malone) get so set in their status quo comfort zone of "we have always done it this way" that they refuse to accept the challenges of changes needed to provide our students a quality 21st century education.

That's why Mr. Malone refused the great new job at district office in early 2012; because he wanted to keep his SHS principal's job at the same comfort level, being best pal to the students and finding favor with the SEA president and his staff; and not challenging himself as a professional educator to "raise the bar"
for our student's higher academic achievement.

That's why we are so fortunate in having young parents like
David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn, with the Will and the Skill
to step up to this great challenge of running for school board election; because David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn are a part of
today's changes in education, actively involved because they are living it with their own children; there is no fear of the role of the board member and no need to waste time and taxpayers money trying to "re-define the role of the board member; so that re-instated Malone status quo will be a good fit."

Fiscal Responsibility and highest academic achievement for students first is what our current board and school administrators stand for. David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn believe in order to deliver the highest level of education we must raise the bar well past the state minimums and strive to challenge our children, parents, and staff to reach higher. We can and must do better, our children's futrue depends on our actions today.

We can't just invest in the status quo; We have to invest in a vision of reform. If your agree with our current board's
Children's First vision of reform...
