O.K. what is adequately funded ? Like most things it is subjective isn't it. Using your rationale we should be voting for a sidewalk and streetlight levy. For every two or three bus drivers it would save we could add a teacher.<quoted text> Passing the school levy is important because it is the only way to keep our distract adequately funded. We all know that Ohio's system for funding schools is not going to change, so we have to work with the system we've got. That means giving our schools revenue at the local level. The federal government and/or Ted Strickland aren't going to give a bail out to the schools. If we fund our own schools at a local level, we can be sure that they are properly staffed with good, veteran teachers and appropriate resources that increase the quality of education and life in Springboro.<quoted text> People will still find reasons to complain about school levies.
I'm sure the sidewalks will be there one day. But keep this in mind. You think things are bad now, just wait till summer and fall. As the areas largest employer there is probably more necessity to keep every postion they can. With some wheeling and dealing with the SEA and some legitimate fund raising not taxing, everyone could squeeze through till things improve. How much tax revenue is there from a foreclosed property ?
