Thank You, Doug, for bringing public awareness to the serious question that everyone in our community is now discussing....
How would a union controlled school board spend our school tax dollars?
The way many of us see it, Mr. Malone gave the public full warning that he would continue putting the teachers union's wants FIRST, ahead of the physical NEEDS of our students, including the safety of our buildings and buses.
Mr. Malone desires control of the board so that he can stop problem solving discussions, between the school community and the taxpaying community, regarding the possibility of trained and liscensed conceal and carry school personnel; and why is that?
Could it be that Mr. Malone is pushing with the SEA for hiring ADDITIONAL uniformed security police to roam the school buildings just because more hired school employees equal more SEA union
members paying big union dues?
And isn't job security for more union members, paying big union dues, the real motive of the union school board candidates, Ron Malone and David Stuckey?

In the May 2013 issue of Springboro Life magazine, retiring SHS principal, Ron Malone, launches his campaign for the November school board election. In the two page interview, editor Jill Kelley asks
Mr. Malone to discuss the future of education and the district's direction.
QUESTION: The school board has been in the news for discussing the arming of teachers and conversion charter schools, among other issues. What are your views?
RON MALONE: As far as the arming of teacher, I understand the sentiment in that. But, the concern I have as an educator is that it takes more than training for a person to be able to use a weapon effectively. There is a need to assess the situation instantaneously, and know what to do with that weapon. There are some people who can get all the training in the world and they still shouldn't carry a gun. I would hope we would look for ways of further securing buildings and ways of identifying individuals who may harm us....
Inquiring minds wonder if Mr. Malone has considered that not ALL would be "carrying a gun" but, that certainly, ONLY those school employees who do have the confidence and expertise required to learn a new "skill?"
Isn't Mr. Malone too embedded in the old philosophy of status quo to be willing to change his leadership to meet the needs of our changing educational needs?
Why should voters elect Ron Malone as board representative (who has 41 years PAST experience as educator) who has published his admission in Springboro Life magazine, that as an educator in our students 21st century education,.... "I'm not sure the fit is as good now as when I came to Springboro in 2000?"

QUESTION: The school board has been in the news for discussing the arming of teachers and conversion charter schools, among other issues.
What are your views?
RON MALONE ANSWERS: I haven't heard the charter school mentioned in a while, but America is based on universal education for all. I think the model that we have now at Springboro overwhelmingly works. I have huge reservations about the charter school concept...
People in this community should have "huge reservations" about how a Ron Malone/Dave Stuckey union controlled school board would spend our school tax dollars. Some educators can have all the experience of 25-41 years in unionism education, and still not be qualified to serve our STUDENTS FIRST as RESPONSIBLE BUDGETING
Springboro School Board of Education elected officials.

To think that only yesterday
'Boro blue & white, and "gay"
Kids not looking forward to... the departure of
Malone...'cause he was overpaid
Melodrama 'round the town
But reality comes around
Beloved, yes, but do the students know of
Parents taxed to little pieces?
Now Malone's going to run for BOE
Oh, Heaven, help us!
If he really cares for our kids
Why won't he really retire?
In this NFSS hour of 'need'
We truly are indeed
Malone again, naturally...

Please bear in mind there's another major key factor as to why conceal and carry isn't being embraced by this district's administration. That key factor is an extremely determined lobbying effort on the part of local law enforcement officials.
What logical reason would local law enforcement have to deter licensed conceal and carry in Springboro schools, other than potentially losing out on a future opportunity for a Malone-Stuckey-Anderson controlled school board to potentially establish half a dozen or so NEW police positions? An addition of half a dozen or so NEW police (a.k.a resource officer) positions would mean, of course, a future request to raise taxes.
Deterrents to a school attack need to be plural in each facility, and completely anonymous to all except select administrators and the board. Deterrents to a school attack need to be in any given hallway, in any given classroom, in the library, in the boiler room, in the auditorium, on the sports field, in the gymnasium, in the cafeteria. Deterrents to a school gun attack need to be in the best places in order to help save lives.
Take a moment to look around the state of Ohio and the nation to examine school districts that have embraced staff having licensed conceal and carry. You'll find that the overwhelming majority of these districts have developed custom concealed carry policies to best suit the specific requirements of their district and its personnel. You'll find the overwhelming majority of these districts developed such programs with either blessing from, and sometimes, ASSISTANCE FROM local law enforcement leaders.

Has anyone else noticed that Springboro High School (whose principal HAS BEEN Ron Malone for the past 13 years).... is NOT getting an award for the High Schools That Work; but that our Springboro Junior High WAS recognized in special ceremony, by the ODE assistant superintendent, on September 18?
Get the Big Picture?
Our Junior High has accomplished things, so the Junior High Principals were moved up to a job PROMOTION (and additional pay) where their professional educators expertise can be utilized helping ALL students to succeed!
A note of thanks and appreciation is due to our current board members, who recognize, with respect and appreciation, our professional educators SUCCESS... and PROMOTES it!
Congratulations to All!

Just remember in November that the important thing is NOT just to get out there and VOTE, just because the time has come! Even more important than voting IS knowing how to Vote Responsibly!
A VOTE is a terrible thing to waste!
Now is the TIME to get out there and spread the word that Springboro school board candidates,
David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn, are Parents Representing Parents AND on board with the
current board's Win-Win agenda of Students First/Responsible Budgeting!
Vote November 5, 2013, for David Bitner and Kolton Vaughn, whose worthy reform-minded philosophy is a good fit with our school district's board approved 21st century education.

A good teacher is someone who directs and instructs,
but never demands that a student learn.
A good teacher challenges your mind
and provides you with opportunities
to gain knowledge at your own speed.
A good teacher encourages you to ask questions, even if your ideas are not completely correct.
A good teacher teaches from the heart
with an inner sense of desire for others
to also enjoy the mysteries of the universe.
For a good teacher is not necessarily a leader to be followed
but a guide who suggests and leave you to carry on down your own road.

A Good Teacher Encourages You to WANT to Learn...
Where there is much desire to learn, there of necessity will be much arguing, much writing, many opinions; for opinion in good men is but knowledge in the making.

The objects of primary education:
-To give every citizen the information he needs for the transaction of his own business;
-To enable him to calculate for himself, and to express and preserve his ideas, his contracts and accounts, in writing;
-To improve, by reading, his morals and faculties;
-To understand his duties to his neighbors and country, and to discharge with competence the functions confided to him by either;
-To know his rights; to exercise with order and justice those he retains; to choose with discretion the fiduciary of those he delegates; and to notice their conduct with diligence, with candor, and judgment;
-And, in general, to observe with intelligence and faithfulness all the social relations under which he shall be placed.- Thomas Jefferson

You're so lame
You're so lame
Don't pass the blame
You're so lame
You're so lame
Don't pass the blame
You've been around forever
And that's been way too long
You think you got it right
We know you got it wrong
How come you won't help us
Instead of talkin' on that phone, stuckey?
Cuz when you say you will
It always means you won't
You're running for the board?
"Great teacher...I think not"
Every day that you leave us all alone, stuckey
Oh stuckey, what a pity
You don't know at all
How come you let us cheat
When you 'scape into the hall?
Oh stuckey, what a pity
Can't you understand
Watching movies isn't teaching!
Oh what you do, stuckey, do stuckey
Don't cry 'bout Holtrey, stuckey!

No Doubt... this MaloneAndersonStuckey flocking together is just a continuation of the March 2012 community-wide protest against putting STUDENTS FIRST; in their misguided efforts to re-instate Malone's status quo union first failed practices for the PAST 13 years.
Why would our community want to go back to those good old boy days of fake budget crisis and a continuous stream of unnecessary levies?
Why would school board candidate, Ron Malone, who has been a SHS principal for 13 years, want to take our school board's new reform-minded, winning philosophy of STUDENTS FIRST/RESPONSIBLE BUDGETING, back to enslavement of the union first/old, outdated collective bargaining rights, that are proven to be WRONG for our school children and community?
Hasn't Mr. Malone proven to our students and community members that his priority in education is increaing the QUANTITY of courses provided by a union teacher in every classroom (no matter how small the enrollment nor high large the tax bill to the community).... instead of increasing opportunities for all students to receive the highest QUALITY education courses, allowing each student to achieve the highest individual academic success? Isn't STUDENTS FIRST/RESPONSIBLE BUDGETING priority in every decision made by the Board of Education the best educational practice that could better help our students in college and beyond?
Why would Mr. Malone want to lead his team-mates, Mr. Stuckey and Mr. Anderson, in undermining the agenda of our current school board, who are successfully doing what's right for our students first, while living within the financial means of our children's first budget?
#27706 Oct 5, 2013
Voters in this Springboro school district should ask school board candidate, Ron Malone, why he is leading his team of Mr. Stuckey and Mr. Anderson AWAY from the best interests of our STUDENTS FIRST/RESPONSIBILE BUDGETING?
Isn't it true that Mr. Malone has only ONE interest, and that is continuing to work in the best interest of financial gain of the Springboro Education Association (union member school employees)?
#27707 Oct 5, 2013
I'll vote for parents. I would NEVER vote for the union to control the UNION and never will the UNion put students first. Everyone knows that the union must go in order for education to take priority over itself. The ticket of three will destroy education in Springboro so it Must be Bitner and Vaugn and Vaugh and Bitner only. If the other three take seats we will pull all of our kids out immediately. I will not have my children further threatened, abused and uneducated.
I will mortgage my home to get them an education that works and that is and has never been with Stuckey and Malone.
#27708 Oct 5, 2013
Voters in this community need to be reminded every day from now till November 5 that union school board candidates, Ron Malone and David Stuckey,
are retired professional educators, with a combined 66 years of work in the government schools of unionism. Springboro families and taxpaying homeowners cannot expect that these two retired educators of collective unionism philosophy have the required WILL to develop the new SKILL of our CURRENT, highly successful
STUDENTS FIRST/RESPONSIBLE BUDGETING Board of Education representaives.
Spread the Good News! Remember in November to VOTE for the ONLY two school board candidates who are already on BOARD with our current board's
Chidren's First budget!
Spread the Good News! Children's First Budget Works... in the best interest of our Students first, our quality classroom teachers, and all community taxpayers!
Why would any "grown up voter" (no matter your age or occupation) not VOTE FOR OUR CONTINUED CHILDREN'S FIRST BUDGETING SUCCESS? If our community is SURE that we care about the future of education in our schools and community....Then Prove it on November 5 and Vote For school board candidates who are PARENTS REPRESENTING PARENTS!
DAVID BITNER and KOLTON VAUGHN should be our next two elected Students First/Responsible Budgeting Board of Education representatives.
VOTE Responsibly on NOVEMBER 5th!

Remember in November this STUDENTS FIRST Topix post from just a few days ago!
Topix post on this thread from September 28th 2011, just over five weeks before the last school board election...
What can PETRONI-RIGANO do to assure a quality education for our children in a tough economy?
Number One: CHILDREN FIRST. Budget for educational support services for children first. No holding parents hostage over things like busing and classroom fees.
Number Two: REBUILD CONFIDENCE. Petroni-Rigano will make sure the strife and waste caused by FIVE unnecessary levy attempts never occurs again; (and the TV camera will be turned on so that hard working district taxpayers can hold local school government leaders accountable).
Number Three: CONTROL SPENDING. While their opponents were asking for unnecessary taxes, Petroni-Rigano analyzed the budget, presenting Twelve concrete budget saving steps worth over $30 million.
The result: a $6M surplus! lower fees! and restored services for children!(so much more for our school children than just "adequate!")

- EXACTLY two years later, because of a ton of hard work from both the board and administration, the economic outlook of Springboro Schools has never been better.
- EXACTLY two years later, because of a ton of hard work from both the board and administration, Boro's school children now have many items and services that were long overdue due.
Such items and services include:
$1.1 million for an 11 additional new buses bought 10 last year.
$1.5 million in computers, wifi, backbone, which = 350 laptops and 1,000 computers
$3.7 million in capital improvements
$2.4 million in text books and new curriculum and text book adoptions
This level of infrastructure and curriculum support improvement would have been next to impossible with the prior board's history of grievous budget inaccuracies.
- EXACTLY two years later, because of a ton of hard work from both our board and administration, this district's voters are being asked to renew the prior millage, BUT WITH A 15% ROLLBACK TO THE TAXPAYERS!!
- EXACTLY two years later. What ever happened to those summer of 2011 voices who desperately tried to take Petroni apart because he and his wife home schools?
News flash: The shoe is now on the other foot.
Vote Nov 5th for David BITNER & Kolton VAUGHN as our next two board representatives!
PARENTS REPRESENTING PARENTS!
