I would like to add that Springboro has so many issues the police is just the tip of the ice burg. You have an out of control school board which is slowly destroying a respectable school district. They are playing with the teachers and they are leaving in mass numbers. Good respectable teachers are leaving as quickly as they can. This only leads to lower home values. You have a complete nut job as board president with ties to the infamous tea party calling the shots. You have an athletics booster who stole in excess of $400,000 of the parents hard earned money only to get a slap on the wrist of 90 days in jail because he is part of the good ole boys network. This creep should have been sent away for at least 5 years. You have a police chief who is involved in a lawsuit over an unlicensed dog he implemented in the police department only to have that dog injure people causing permanent damage. Yes, Springboro needs new fresh elected officials. A fresh look on the city would to it wonders.

Unlicensed dog? The dog was certified at the time it apprehended the "FLEEING FROM POLICE AFTER COMMITTING A FELONY", suspects. Permanent injury? Really?!!! Hahaha! Does that involve living every day as normal but being the same person they were before the incident ONLY USING THEIR CRIME TO MAYBE GET A BUCK? I see one of the plaintiffs almost every day. He's a drunk and he laughs about how he is going to win money even though it was his fault. These two are idiots who should not have run from the police. That would have solved the problem from the get-go. Why run if you did nothing wrong.
Stop believing the news media. The lawsuit is B.S. and they will get luck to win $1.00. The majority of humans, given the facts understand that running from the police is frowned upon. Most jury members and judges aren't criminals willing to side with them.

The dog lawsuit is all BS. If somebody broke into your house and ran only to be tracked and bitten by a very well trained police dog should they be able to sue? Sound reasonable? I doubt that sounds reasonable because its not. If you commit a felony and flee you should be willing to accept that the outcome may not be all roses and chocolate. Is it odd to you that outside departments investigated and found nothing wrong? Is it odd to you that major cities have police dog bites nearly every single night but never get sued? Running after committing a crime is a bad idea. Your real problem should be the fact that the police chief should never had been hired to begin with. Google "Jeff Kruithoff Crooked". Enjoy that reading. He's a real gem. Sleeping with your lead detective's wife is so admirable. When the chief dismissed the dog program he did so with zero backing. The entire department backed their dog handler and their dog.

Auburn, Alabama is home to sprawling plains, Auburn University, and a troubling police force. After the arrival of a new police chief in 2010, the department entered an era of ticket quotas and worse.

“When I first heard about the quotas I was appalled,” says former Auburn police officer Justin Hanners, who claims he and other cops were given directives to hassle, ticket, or arrest specific numbers of residents per shift.“I got into law enforcement to serve and protect, not be a bully.”

Hanners blew the whistle on the department’s tactics and was eventually fired for refusing to comply and keep quiet. He says that each officer was required to make 100 contacts each month, which included tickets, arrests, field interviews, and warnings. This equates to 72,000 contacts a year in a 50,000 person town. His claims are backed up by audio recordings of his superiors he made. The Auburn police department declined requests to be interviewed for this story.

“There are not that many speeders, there are not that many people running red lights to get those numbers, so what [the police] do is they lower their standards,” says Hanners. That led to the department encouraging officers to arrest people that Hanners “didn’t feel like had broken the law.”

Former Reason staffer Radley Balko, now an investigative reporter for the Huffington Post and author of the new book, Rise of the Warrior Cop, says that this isn’t just a nuisance, it infringes on public safety.

“You have a policy that encourages police to create petty crimes and ignore serious crimes, and that’s clearly the opposite of what we want our police to be doing,” says Balko.

Hanners repeatedly voiced his concerns through his chain of command, and the department responded that these requirements are necessary for increasing productivity.

Yet Hanners firmly believes that the quotas are entirely revenue driven.

“I had no intention of dropping it,” says Hanners,“This is a problem in more places than Auburn, and I think once the people know that they can hold their public officials accountable, it’ll change.”

The police chief singled out by Hanners retired this July, citing medical reasons.

Setsyoustraight, or should I say, Chief Kruithoff. You forget that the dog was NOT licensed. It's CERTIFICATION had EXPIRED. Proper hours of training were NOT kept up with. The dog and handler were NOT up to speed on qualification REQUIRED hours. There was ZERO felons involved in the dog bites. Under age drinking is NOT a felony. And neither is trespassing. This was NOT an instance of a "fleeing felon", it was an instance of an underage, drunk, SCARED girl. Since when did we have to crack down so hard on underage drinking? The law USED to be 18 for beer. Kids try alcohol. It is not some new menace to society, and the kids that are trying booze for the first time have RARELY led to something criminal throughout history.

I remember when the rule of law was riddled with "tough love" for raising your kids. Then one day, the parents that beat their own kids senseless realized that it would not be THEM hitting their kids, but their KIDS hitting their grandkids. Suddenly, it became a crime to simply YELL at your child. Now, you cannot look sideways at your kids for tearing a shopping mall to the ground, but the POLICE can come and taze your children, beat them into comas, and even kill them, and that is acceptable.

Why did this society, that I risked my life for, change from the parent, who has the child's best interest at heart, being the one to discipline a child to the Police, who don't give a rat's ass about YOUR kids?

It used to be the big joke that the Private Security guy was a cop wannabe. Now it is the Police who are Military wannabes. I shit you not, the idiot had me in court for a simple TRAFFIC TICKET. I and everyone else in the joint had been put through a metal detector. The only ones NOT through the metal detector were the Police. And this idiot was wearing a damn bullet-proof vest! As if he was in fear for his life. Hahahaha. Talk about "warrior Wannabe"!

Silentknight, are you unable to read? There are plenty of tutors in the area willing to assist you for a small fee if you need help. According to the federal lawsuit the dog WAS certified at the time of both FELONY apprehensions. Nowhere in the lawsuit do they state that the dog or handler were not certified. It does say that for a period of time (not the time these incidents occurred) the dog and handler were not certified. Google it. Even the most liberal blogger can't claim that at the time these felonies were committed either were not certified.
Sure, underage drinking is not a felony but do you know what is? Being under arrest then escaping your handcuffs, breaking out of a police car's backseat and then running. That IS a felony under the Ohio revised code.
Trespassing? I've read every line of this suit. Nobody is charged with that crime. There was a call from the neighbor reporting a burglary or domestic. The neighbor told police that the next door home had previously been broken into. The police show up and the screen doors are broken. There's shoe prints on the doors indicating someone tried kicking it. OH YEAH! The neighbor stated that he saw a man flee when he heard sirens coming.
I forgot. You can't read. Try again. Or better yet, get arrested then break out of a police car and see what happens. Maybe the police should spank and scold you like parents? Maybe you should go break some doors, kick them causing a ruckus and then run from the police and see what happens. Logic is something you must have missed growing up. Perhaps your parents should have scolded you more.

Also, going to boot camp then being discharged for failure to adapt is not risking your life for this country. Did you apply to be a cop and get shot down sweetie? Why is this dirt bag still around?

Clearcreek administrator retiring after 35 years

CLEARCREEK TWP., Warren County — Township Administrator Dennis Pickett is expected to announce his retirement Wednesday after 35 years in public administration.

Pickett, 57, said he was retiring, effective July 31, 2012.“It’s just time,” he said.

Pickett, administrator in Clearcreek Twp. since November 1985, also worked as administrative assistant in Franklin Twp.“I certainly will miss him. He’s been good for Clearcreek Twp.,” said Ed Wade, chairman of the township trustees.

In his time with the township, Pickett has seen the community and staff grow, and the government move from a small office to a sprawling government center.

However, he clashed with Linda Oda, the fiscal officer elected in 2007, prompting a review last year by the trustees. Also last year, Trustee Cathy Anspach sought discipline against Pickett for failing to advise township officials that former trustee Dr. Greg McDonald, a local dentist, had been receiving health insurance for himself and his wife that was subsidized through funds set aside for unemployed workers.

On Tuesday Anspach said their dispute was in the past.

“I think he’s just burned out on the job,” she said.

Hey Setsyoustraight,

Read the court opinion when the motion for summary judgement was dismissed. They clearly noted that the dog lacked the necessary and proper ongoing training and that is why the lawsuit was allowed to move forward. It is the Chief's fault and it stated so in the courts opinion. Felonies or not the Chief of Police should have not allowed the dog to be put in the force in the first place. Not only that, why is this necessary in a relatively crime free small city like Springboro? The next thing you know we will have a police chopper flying over the city chasing down high school drinking parties.

To add to the dog bite lawsuit. The teenage girl was never formally charged and/or indicted by the grand jury for felony escape, therefore, no felony exists with this case. Why this guy on here is insisting there was a felony committed is beyond me given she was never indicted on the case. She suffered permanent injuries after the bite and is a productive member of the tax paying society. The man's charges were dismissed by the court. He also suffered permanent injuries. This is all on the official court opinion dismissing summary judgement. The fact is there was no felony and the grand jury said so as well as the man getting is case dismissed. THESE ARE THE FACTS

Are you seriously this much of a tool? I have 7½ YEARS and an Honorable Discharge for Service Connected Disability.

I have seen a lot of stupidity in my day by trolls like you, but you are definitely a front-runner.

Why would I want to apply to be a cop? I was a Federal Officer with Homeland Security. See, this is how it works. Security Guards are "wanna-be" cops, and cops are "wanna-be" Military. I would not lower myself to work with the dirt bags you seem to like as "cops".

Also, for your information on escape...Under the Laws of The United States, if you are placed in UNLAWFUL detention, it is NOT escape. It is a little thing we like to call "poisonous fruits of the tree". If the initial encounter is a violation; then the entire case is unlawful, not matter the outcome.

You do sound like a typical Springboro Cop trying to cover for their own, or other dirt bag corrupt cop brothers. Don't worry, BCI, and the House Of Representatives are already on the case, and on their way to clean your house for you.

Okay douche canoe. I've had just about enough of you. Why would you want to be a cop? BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY HAVE TO TAKE TESTS TO CARRY A GUN! Did you take 2 polygraphs and a psychological exam before you went to boot camp? I'll answer for you since I also served but didn't use my injury as an excuse to get a regular paycheck. NO! YOU DID NOT. And the entire extent of your background consisted of verifying what you wrote down on a piece of paper. The military will take anybody with a diploma. They even take felons who use the excuse of signing up to have charges dropped. The only tool here is you. You belong to an elite group of dirtbags using the diversion program. Congrats! Can't do that in real police work.

By the way, since you are so up on all of this, I received a phone call yesterday letting me know that this whole case has been dismissed by the judge after she found out how much of dirt bags the two were. Did you read that? ITS DISMISSED. ALL OF IT!

One more fix from your last post to refute. If you are handcuffed and told, "you are under arrest" Then read your rights and placed into the back of a police car; Are you a prisoner? YEP YES YOU ARE. if you then flee are you evading that arrest? YES. YES YOU ARE.

I'm so happy you are a very special federal person. Also sorry that your paycheck was late this month because you are so special:) Does the fact that you are so expendable as to not even be paid tell you anything? Local cops didn't get furloughed because we actually really need them to respond to real things and not CNN bull crap. Keep thinking you are special buddy. You are just as special as everyone else on the planet.

Hey Setsyoustraight, that is very disrespectful to the men and women who served our country in the military. To call them all criminals and anyone can join is tasteless. These people actually put their country first instead of themselves regardless of their background so back off. Just because you passed a polygraph and background check does not make you a better man than the mean and women who served our country. Remember, citizens who live IN SPRINGBORO, you can vote for Clearcreek Township TRUSTEE as well!

Let us look at the record on LAMB & WADE:

They allowed the fire chief to place a 4.5 mil levy to the voters of Springboro and Clearcreek Township – this with a reserve of seven million dollars in the bank.

Over the past few years, Clearcreek Township has made the headlines, and not in a positive manner.

Issues of WADE selling insurance to the township employees,(an OHIO ETHICS VIOLATION) and pocketed 1.2 million dollars over the deal.

WADE purchasing property with TAXPAYERS money for a new park,(On Red Lion 5 Points Rd) while lining his friends pocket with over a million dollars of TAXPAYERS money and not completing the Patricia Allen Park

WADE & LAMB FIRED Police Chief Herdt for NOT firing a police officer -- who did NOTHING WRONG -- so they FIRED CHIEF HERDT

FIRED another police officer for following orders and the trustees paying over $90,000 for their defense to fire him.

Allowing failed policies in the fire department and even closing a fire station.

WATCH the CLEARCREEK FIREFIGHTERS PLAY with your tax dollars and SAFETY equipment. http://youtu.be/Zkpws1KUusA

Allowing an assistant fire chief accused of identity theft,(A FELONY) to KEEP HIS JOB!

NOW WADE & LAMB are being charged with violating the Ohio Open Public Meeting act, which they currently have to defend with TAXPAYERS funds. Court date of late November 2013 -- after the election.

WADE & LAMB have been trustees for over 30 years!

So, now that you know the TRUTH, isn't it time to RETIRE WADE & LAMB?

Relax, Frustrated. These mental midgets do not worry me, and if I ever lived my life to try and please one of these jerk-water, corrupt felons with a badge, I would give up and shoot myself. The facts are, they are corrupt. They have low self-esteem. They NEED a badge to get back at all those who they feel "bullied" their puny asses in grade-school. The idea of a lie detector test and a psych profile is first off, absurd, and secondly, the most assinine thing I have ever heard. The background check to be a cop consists of zero vetting. All you have to do is play nicey-nice for 180 DAYS of training at a local community college, and you are in. However, for a Military TS Security clearance, as well as a Federal Position within Homeland Security, there is an ACTUAL psych profile, ACTUAL background check, and an ACTUAL lie detector test administered.

Poor little blue-badge couldn't cut it anywhere but where his daddy could get him "in" at the local PD level, so he uses it to harass law abiding citizens. Then to show his prowess, he becomes an e-thug on the internet so he can puff his chest out to his dog and act tough with the curtains drawn. Quite pathetic actually.

Just remember this, Peagler. If YOU are not going to follow the Law, then what reasoning would ANY citizen have to follow it?

I apologize, Peagler, for thinking that Zimmaro was you. By looking into an ACTUAL background check, we come up with an interesting FACT about Zimmaro and Florida...If anyone would like to do their own looks see, I will give you the particulars to do your own search:

Aaron F. Zimmaro
6/21/1991
Florida
Pinellas Case: CTC9116251MMANO
Offense: Unlawful Use Of A License

What happened, Zimmaro? They catch you impersonating a Cop in Florida?

Hmmm...seems that "polygraph" and "psych eval" you tout was a crock of crap.

You can feel free to leave the group now, as is usual with ANY level of scrutiny of Springboro PD....your credibility is shot.
