Boro Belief

Those of us who believe in ourselves as responsible citizens, living within our own household budget resources, did indeed fail one, two, three, four, five school levies.
Springboro familes and taxpaying homeowners sent a clear message to our school district leaders that we rejected their fake budget crisis holding our parents hostage over things like bus transportation and excessive pay to play fees, and their lies that they was no money to buy textbooks for our children's classrooms.
Springboro families and taxpaying homeowners failed four unnecessary school levies BEFORE Kelly Kohls came on board in 2010. Kelly Kohls was the first board member to remind the other four that the board should listen to the community BEFORE putting a fifth levy on the ballot. Kelly Kohls was right; the fifth levy failed! and in 2011 voters elected David Petroni and Jim Rigano as board representives joining Kelly Kohls new philosophy of putting our children first.
Kelly Kohls was the first vote to restore busing our students to class and putting our bus drivers back to work.
Kelly Kohls was the first vote to lower our excessive pay to play fees 25%, making it more affordable for more of our students to participate in our school's athletic program.(As concerned citizens attending public board meetings, we were
surprised to hear both our former superintendent and our current high school principal object to doing what is right for our students and parents, and our athletic program as a whole.)
Thanks to Kelly Kohls' principles of putting our kids first, these services (that were taken away from our kids in efforts to pass unnecessary school levies) WERE RESTORED!
Thank you Kelly! You stand firmly on strong principles in the best interests of our school children and our community as a whole; and your service to our schools and community is appreciated!
We are excited about good things we see happening at our school board meetings and trust in the direction for our children's future in which our new board and new supperintendent are leading!
We Love Springboro! And Springboro families and taxpaying homeowners will settle for nothing less than the very best quality education for our kids, while living within the means of our community!
We believe our "children first budgeting" services
provide the best opportunities for our children's future.

Kelly Kohls traveled to Westerville last evening to support a repeal effort of our taxes. She claimed that Springboro has had 5 levies had failed yet you are all doing fine and you didn't lose any services. Is this true?
As a resident and voter in our Springboro school district, I fully trust in everything being TRUE that Kelly Kohls reported about our success found by our new school district leaders in LEVY ALTERNATIVES and BUDGET REFORM and WITH NO NEW TAXES!
It can be done, Westerville!
But ONLY if you care enough to put children first in your school district budgeting plan!
Time to move on and stop leaving kids behind with the unions status quo plan of "forward with business as usual."

When we moved into this community a few years ago, we heard from community members and neighbors what a corrupt tight-knit local school/city/township "good ole boys" club had its way at taxpayers expense...union's got everything wrapped up and that's not going to change. No use in attending meetings or speaking out your own beliefs; the union is going to do what the union wants to do.

We heard from neighbors that anyone who tried to run for office against this strongly pro-union local government would be trashed and thrashed with personal attacks in the union's efforts to send a message to anyone who dared to oppose their pro-levy agenda.
And we heard that no "good, decent citizen" would take that type of personal abuse. But, we believe that we are a community of good, decent citizens; and we believe that community members will continue supporting our good neighbors who willingly offer their leadership skills in public service.
We believe the cynics are now proven wrong. We now have a BOE majority who are doing the right thing for our school children and community as a whole, even when it would have been much easier for them, personally, to just go along with the popular status quo "business as usual."

Well, we certainly do hope that we the Boro taxpayers can protect our great schools from hiring teachers like the former NFSS president and current Middletown teacher!
What sour grapes is Tam-Tam!
She just isn't good enough to get into our Springboro schools classroom; so she settled for greedy self-interest; legally "getting into our kids school tax dollars!"

Westerville,
Springboro lost services when the previous adminstration tried to twist the communities arm by increasing class sizes, cancelling bussing and added pay to play fees. Since a change in Leadership has taken place bussing is back, pay to play fees are way down and in time so will class sizes.
You have to understand the pro levy crowd. Get this. When bussing was cancelled in Springboro the pro levy board, superintendent, etc continued to pay the bus drivers for a year. It was all a move to intimdate the community.
You should listen to Kohls!
Springboro school board member Kelly Kohls makes our school district Boro proud! Why would any concerned parent NOT want board representatives who make decisions in the best interest of our children first?
We should not only listen to Kohls...but we should be fully supportive of her winning leadership agenda for our children's future. Just don't think intimidation and bullying is going to deter Kelly Kohls from doing what's right, even when it isn't the popular pro-union thing to do.
Thank you Mrs. Kohls.

It never ceases to amaze me that people who engage in smear campaigns never have anything of substance to offer anyone. Where are the ideas that these people should have? Try debating the points of an issue.
If you are against open meetings and increased transparency in our operations, clubs, and organizations, please let us know why.
If you oppose putting the education of our children in front of the adults in the school system, again, let us know why.
If you are against following the policies and procedures that have been in place for a decade or more, why don't you share your concerns and reasons with us.
If you are opposed to making sure every dollar earmarked for our kids programs reaches those programs, we eagerly await your elucidation.
If you feel that the parents of extracurricular program participants of this district should pay more than their fair share, we are listening for your defense.
If you like that funds our clubs raise for our children can be run with no accounting standards. no responsibility for the money, and no oversight, let us know why that system is better.
We await, as we always do, for a reasoned response that never seems to arrive.
Let's face it: Our BOE majority promotes children first budgeting; Teachers union officials and their pro-levy activists promotes budgeting for unions first; then giving our kids the left-overs. Only problem, no matter how much the unions have, it is NEVER enough, just a continusous stream of personal attacks against BOE elected officials trying to run them out of office so that the unions can take back our children's future and get back to "business as usual."
For the first time in our school district, we have a strong group of board respresentatives who have the financial expertise and leadership skills needed to inspire our citizens with a broader vision of tomorrow's challenges; and we aren't going to allow the union protests to "reverse" the progress we've made.

Word around Boro is "hoping and wishing" that pro-union board member, Don Miller, chooses to move on... AND get out of public non-service to our school children and community. That's a CHANGE we can all PROUDLY vote for!

Unfortunatley yes but thats not Kelly's fault. Those fees have to be less than the money the district has lost over the years doing business as usual.

Totally Agree! How fortunate is our school district to have
school board representatives like Kelly whose principles stand strong against politics of personal destruction.
Our union activists tactics of bullying and slander have made our children first budgeting board representatives stand stronger doing what's right for our school children and community!
Springboro, we need TWO good citizens with leadership expertise to step up to the task and join Kelly Kohls running for school board election next year!
