I would encourage others not to add to the ballooning $7,000,000 million dollar surplus that exists in the fire department fund.
The levy the community passed in 2001 is still chugging along providing us with revenue surpluses year after year after year. You don't accidentally put this much money in the bank.

Nor would I encourage the backdoor dealings that resulted in the hiring of 12 full time firefighters with FREE money and 3 new administrators. Turning around and now asking the public to finance the fire departments fait accompli of extra staff that does not appear to be needed should not be approved.

The facts are that most people are not enjoying the benefits of a "growing" economy. Certainly we all appreciate the public services performed by fire and police but the salaries that are being commanded are needing restructuring. Taxes/Levies are going to kill the golden goose. Springboro/Clearcreek township is NOT west Dayton. This is a very comfortable community to work in. If an emergency does happen you aren't afraid to make a run to a residence. We all have to do more with less and that should include our fellow citizen supported workers. Be thankful you have a job in a great community with full benefits and retirement. Many "regular" folk are having to deal with reduced hours and income. With property tax increases, payroll tax increases, reductions in hours worked, salaries and now an additional potential levy increase. It's no wonder people are getting angry.
Let's celebrate our successful community by keeping our city/township neighborhoods both safe and affordable!
Stay focused on the Clearcreek Township June/July regular meetings and speak up for responsible spending in local government. Tell our township trustees to just NO to asking for tax increases on our homes in November. No additional levy is needed! Why the deceit of another CCFD big tax increase campaign?

It only amazes us that the Clearcreek Township Board of Trustees and the Fire Department, would have the BALLS to ask for more money! If you ever want to know what the Clearcreek Firefighters do, besides sit on their LAZY BOY recliners, then you need to watch them slide down a flight of steps at Station 22 on East Lytle Five Points Road, while riding a backboard, an EMS device to immobilize patients. The SPRINGBORO Mayor’s son, who (PLAYS) at the fire department, allowed this event, and others, to occur frequently. This was captured on video AND THEY POSTED IT ON YOU TUBE! Watch the video and ask yourself “Why are the FD supervisors allowing this to happen? Have they all lost their moral compass?”

Tentative Special meeting on Monday, July 15, at 5:30 p.m. was discussed at last nights regular township meeting; but voters should stay alert to check the website for changes that might be posted.

Perhaps Mr. Kidd can be encouraged to bring along this "entertainment" to the Special Fire Levy Meeting to lighten up the bulliness of his second attack on the "will of the people" as voiced in the No New Taxes vote in May.

ALSO, they have a fire officer WHO SMOKES POT, CRACK, and other drugs. Yes, his name rhymes with ASS.

New book takes hard look at municipal service practices

‘Conspiracy among America’s Heroes’ exposes malpractice among firefighters, EMTs and other governmental officials.

With the publication of his new book “Conspiracy among America’s Heroes,” Chief Kelly Daugherty presents a career’s worth of experience into both the good and the bad sides of public service.

“This book will take you through the trials and tribulations a fire chief is faced with on a daily basis,” says Daugherty.“Anyone who is a manager, supervisor, leader, or involved in human-relation issues, needs to read this book, learn from these truculent life lessons, and use them for future reference. Are you willing to take the ethical challenge?”

Daugherty exposes many of the injustices he sees commonly in municipal services. Through his detailed examples, he presents poor work ethics, illegal activity, and a basic failure to provide the services for which personnel are sworn to perform. He explores “… ethics or the lack thereof, being honest to yourself and others, being accountable to your constituents and the people which you work with, and more important – learning to do the right thing, even if it means leaving your chosen profession.”

"Chief Kelly Daughtry" is really ex-chief Bernie Becker, the person who retired before he could be fired for improper behavior on the job. This guy was my neighbor for years and trust me, he is a piece of work. He thought he owned our HOA. I'm sure most of the problems that the Springboro fire department faces today came from this idiot.

Embattled Clearcreek Twp. fire chief retires
Bernie Becker had been accused of improper behavior with other firefighters.
By Lawrence Budd
Staff Writer
Friday, June 06, 2008
CLEARCREEK TWP., Warren County — Clearcreek Twp. Fire Chief Bernie Becker retired Thursday, June 5, preventing township trustees from contemplating disciplinary action against him. His retirement eliminated the need for the trustees to consider findings from an investigation by retired Montgomery County Common Pleas Judge John Meagher. In March, the local firefighters union accused Becker, chief of the department since 1997, of "improper touching, inappropriate behavior, hostile work environment, abuse of power, lack of operational knowledge, skills and abilities during emergency incidents." The trustees on May 22 appointed Meagher to recommend action after reviewing township police Chief John Terrill's investigation of the complaints. Until Thursday, Becker had been ordered to report to township offices while Terrill investigated the complaints, which included nine sexual harassment claims, some similar to those firefighters lodged against Becker in 2001. During Thursday night's trustees meeting, Assistant Chief Thomas Morrison handled administrative actions regarding the fire department. Becker was absent, having submitted his retirement in the afternoon, township Administrator Dennis Pickett said. Jill May, a lawyer representing the township, said Meagher never completed a report and Terrill's investigative report would not be released to the public. May and trustees declined to release reports from either investigation despite appeals by the firefighters union and the Dayton Daily News. Becker, chief of the fire district covering Springboro and Clearcreek Twp., couldn't be reached Thursday night for comment.

Ask WADE when he is going to repay the 1.2 mill dollard he STOLE from the employees of the township. Also ask him if he seen the you-tube video of HIS fireman sliding down a set of stairs on a EMS "backboard" device. Chances are he allowed them to behave this way!

So they "brown out" a firestation today and put a HUGE sign out front to state that fact. Obviously it is political grandstanding since the meeting is tonight. On the facebook page that put all these "what if this happens or that happens". Reminds me of Jim Carey's skits of Fire Marshall Fred.
Seriously this sounds like great business. Call volume can't be equal day after day so why not shut a station down on historically low call volume days? Thats what we do in real world. Just think if government did this even when they did not have too due to budget issues. Thats hard to comprehend I know.

Serious Question.

If a person calls 911 because someone in the household "passed out" why do a bunch of firemen show up in a huge fire engine.

I can see the policeman to protect the ambulance guys in case it was a domestic issue but why to they need to roll a big engine. Is it to increase the call volume?
