I already talked to one of the "guys". He is voting against the fire levy. I asked him why and he said that the fire dept management was abusing the system and using fire dept assets for their own personal use.
Got anything to back that up focus? A name? A specific example? Or were you just daydreaming, yet again...

What is this mysterious "guys" name?

I happen to support their cause and I know several of the guys. I am willing to bet you don't know anyone from the FD, let alone having found one voting against it.

The fact of the matter is that local taxpayers don't foot retirement income directly. So, would you prefer that Pickett be let go so we would have to pay another administrator $100k or better from our LOCAL tax funds? Look around...what does the competition make? Washington Township's administrator makes $103k, Miami Township's administrator makes $121k...it could be much worse! We're fortunate, really..
For sure .... it could be much worse, IF we vote ourselves INCREASED TAXES on our homes....

We're fortunate, really... that in our Clearcreek Township government, we have at least one elected official that will serve the public truthfully, and just say NO to increasing taxes on our families; and YES to cutting big government expenses.

Just Vote No New Taxes in May and allow our hard-working township administrators earn their big double dipping salaries by problem solving the projected budget crisis their decisions have created by just cutting expenses of government; and stop threatening to cut public services.

I just learned the township budget is separate from the fire departments, and they can't legally move money back and forth. I may not care for the township people, but the fire department is important to me, so I'll say YES to 3!

What are the facts?
Did the Township buy Jason Gabbard's property for $1.5 million for a park? Shouldn't a park levy have been the way to ask the citizen's if they wanted to pay for it?
Did the township trustee's refuse to give the taxpayer's a tax holiday as recommended by the fiscal officer for money collected but in her words not needed? Does the Township not have a surplus of cash between $12-14 Million?
The article states: "
"Unlike in other townships, Kidd pointed out his department covers a city and township. As a bedroom community, Clearcreek Twp. also lacks commercial development that can lessen the tax burden on homeowners, he added.
Since 2001, the service area's population practically has doubled, while the department has continued to operate on existing levies and grants, officials said."
Doesn't the city pay the township for this service?
Why does the Township lack commercial development? Unfriendly zoning and over taxation? If the service area's population has doubled, are not the new residents also paying taxes for this service?
If you read the meeting minutes employees are getting raises and new equipment and training are being purchased.
Maybe the Township trustees should do a survey to see how many residents have lost their jobs or taken pay cuts, how many businesses have shut down, how many businesses are struggling, how many residents are struggling, how many foreclosures there are, and how much the property value has fallen.
Is there a Budget posted on the Township website? Why does the 2012 annual financial report have all zeros'?
What are the facts?
Where is the Budget?

This foolish mantra of Yes on 3 "indoctrination" is just sticking to Ed Wade's tired old story that he thinks the government can put OUR money to better use, than those of us who earned it.

Based on the Wade/Gabbard public record of decision making, we must not trust more of our money to their leadership.
It appears that this big money fire levy in May is not needed
to continue excellent services to the public; just another attempt of our severly-misguided local government to continue "collectively spreading the wealth around"
since that serves the governments' financial interests best.

Don't be fooled by this financial bullying and emotional manipulation of the government whining and complaining about
"not having enough money to save the people." Only two township trustees, Ed Wade and Jason Gabbard, voted for Increased Taxes on our homes!(and there are many taxpayers questioning Wade/Gabbard conflict of interest; believing we need new leadership instead of NEW TAXES). Only ONE township trustee truthfully voted to CUT GOVERNMENT EXPENSES. And it is our civic duty to allow our government this exercise instead of just saying yes to "spread the wealth around, the people have it, the government wants it!"

Just Say No Way In May to Increased Taxes on Our Family Homes and send a clear message to the Township that "we the people" tell the government what to do -- not the other way around.

Let's Stand Firm on May 7 and send a message to our local government to stop punishing responsible homeowners with increased taxes! Just Vote No New Taxes!

Never forget, the above statement is just one more example on this blog of the typical liberal bullying campaign promoting fear and intimidation to silence the teachings of the ideas of our Founding Fathers, and the practices of our Great American freedom principles of smaller government, free enterprise, and individual responsibility.

We must be brave enough to take a stand and Vote NO NEW TAXES on our homes...the future does not belong to those "faint of heart" in fear of their government, IF we do not conform.....
Just Say No Thanks to the government's request for New Money in May.

Never Forget.... the truthful public service of our township trustee who voted NO to Increased taxes on our homes; and said the government should cut expenses.
We must be brave enough to take a stand with elected officials who take a stand in protection of our family homes.

May God Bless America AND May God Bless You and Your Family!

This is an example of the typical tea party agenda - first to demand services, last to be willing to admit there is a price tag for those services. Go to a restaurant, tell them you want all you can eat, but you want the guy across the room to pay for it! Say no to the crazed right wing extremists and yes to 3!
