ah...wade had his boy voted into the township with the help of a gullible public...and your reward? a levy in May for yet another fire station that this community does not need. Hope you ignorant people are happy now.

As I understand it - a new fire station isn't part of the new levy. Please get your facts straight before typing.

doesn't much matter...what matters is a 4.5 mill levy voted and passed by wade and his newbie buddy that sold property to the township, and then got elected to township trustee. Talk about conflict of interest ! The township is awash in cash, buying property wherever, and then trying to stick it to the public for unneeded services.

No, the facts never really matter on this blog. Just throw stuff on the wall and hope it sticks. Great thing about this country - you get to vote no. Problem solved.

What are the facts?
Did the Township buy Jason Gabbard's property for $1.5 million for a park? Shouldn't a park levy have been the way to ask the citizen's if they wanted to pay for it?
Did the township trustee's refuse to give the taxpayer's a tax holiday as recommended by the fiscal officer for money collected but in her words not needed? Does the Township not have a surplus of cash between $12-14 Million?
The article states: "
"Unlike in other townships, Kidd pointed out his department covers a city and township. As a bedroom community, Clearcreek Twp. also lacks commercial development that can lessen the tax burden on homeowners, he added.
Since 2001, the service area's population practically has doubled, while the department has continued to operate on existing levies and grants, officials said."
Doesn't the city pay the township for this service?
Why does the Township lack commercial development? Unfriendly zoning and over taxation? If the service area's population has doubled, are not the new residents also paying taxes for this service?
If you read the meeting minutes employees are getting raises and new equipment and training are being purchased.
Maybe the Township trustees should do a survey to see how many residents have lost their jobs or taken pay cuts, how many businesses have shut down, how many businesses are struggling, how many residents are struggling, how many foreclosures there are, and how much the property value has fallen.
Is there a Budget posted on the Township website? Why does the 2012 annual financial report have all zeros'?
What are the facts?

Voters know that facts are proven that local homeowners cannot afford, nor do we need, increased local government services; and only in the opinion of elected officials, such as Ed Wade and Jason Gabbard, does our local government know better how to irresponsibly spend homeowners hard earned money on parks and recreation empowering the unions with greater control over our household budgets. Voters should just say NO to new taxes; and NO to the leadership of highly paid double dipper administrators, such as Mr. Pickett, who continues promoting draining dry the well from which our local government agencies already so heavily drink.

With the exception of Cathy Anspach, the rest of the township leadership are nothing short of crooks, and that includes Dennis Pickett.

The township now has an Assistant Fiscal officer Craig Colston, are the township's taxpayers now paying another person so Mrs. Oda can do two jobs that she was elected too? Does she get a salary from the township and the county? Benefits?
The December 13th 2012 minutes have some salaries listed on the second page. There are some hefty salaries for a "Bedroom Community", how much do the retirement and health insurance add to those salaries?

Hope the folks wake up and vote wade out this fall, especially after his current push for more township fire dept goodies, at the expense of the tax payers. The guy is a crook.

Sadly I haven't found many Township taxpayers who have a clue about what the township trustees have done or are doing.

This community needs someone strong to run against Wade for trustee this fall. I, for one, am sick and tired of the same corrupt politicans running this community like it was their own personal playground.

Yes! But the who is the problem. How to find a who???? This county votes conservative in national politics but seems uninformed about local politics which is where people actually have the most control over their wallets.

Jack Christman for one is an excellent choice. He has been involved with the schools as well for years.

During the 2011 campaign for township trustee, conservatives took the wrong approach in electing the right candidate. The right candidates lost the election, not because of poor choice of candidates; but because the right candidates had poor visibility and name recognition; while the union supported candidate enjoyed big money union perks like robo calls into voters homes, and costly mailouts to every household.

While Gabbard and Wade proudly tout, out and about, that they came straight "from the womb" into their union rights to be seated on the township trustee board, many voters have never heard the names of the conservative candidates; and isn't that reflected in the outcome of the 2011 election that showed Gabbard winning big in precincts other than his own; while a good conservative candidate won big only in the home precinct?

Frankly, I don't care if Wade's opponent is Martian, as long as he defeats Wade, who by the way is republican. Cathy Anspach, I believe is a democrat, and she's the only one who's fighting for the common joe.

I would be willing to go door to door for a honestly conservative candidate and help pay for mailers. Is there any hope the Warren County Republican office would help or has Wade got that pocket too?

Neither do I care. What's in a name?
Both republicans and democrats locally are known to have voting loyalty to the self-interest party of social justice for the union party.
Both republicans and democrats (who do have civic pride and expertise to lead in a local government position) are cautious about sticking their necks out to run for public office; because as is proven in Springboro, not only will the candidates be targeted with mean-spirited personal attacks on character by self-interest union activists; but these union activists will go after the candidates family members.
Union members financially support big liberal Democrat political candidates, no matter if R or D is on their political ID.
Taxpayers cannot get a break no matter which party rules; because both parties are more interested in controlling status quo government and getting re-elected, rather than working in the best interest of the good old American common joe.
We still need a few good strong-willed men and women to help us get candidates on the ballot in November. Change happens gradually, but we are encouraged that it can happen!

those corrupt people in the township purposely scheduled the levy for May, hoping to have folks forget they have to vote on this BEFORE November. What scoundrels !
