Again Springboro's finest has proven to be inept.

During a recent attempt to rob a Springboro bank that lasted nearly 5 hours - the only contribution Springboro police provided was traffic control.

Anyone who was there would have easily noticed that the Miami Township Police and Warren County Sheriff's Department had taken on the bulk responsibility to bringing this event to a peaceful conclusion.

Springboro Police had taken a back seat in their own city. It's shameful.

Why this police department exists is beyond me.

Major John Dipietro with Miami Township Police stepped up to the plate for Springboro Police.

I applaud and thank Miami Township Police, Warren County, and the FBI.

The question remains - Where was the Springboro Police?

I guess the only thing Springboro Police are trained to do is write traffic citations.

A pathetic excuse for a police department. When we really needes them they couldn't
get the job done.

Springboro's best was no doubt at the Donut Haus exercising routine loss prevention procedures.

Actually springboro police had taken the three main positions closest to the bank. Most of the other agencies were the ones doing traffic control.

Very true... Keep in mind that when something like this happens in a small town it is very normal for surrounding agencies to help out. Springboro does not have a large enough force to handle everything that was happening. They were busy up front while Miami Twp, Warren County Sheriff, Franklin, Carlisle and others were in support mode.
Totally innacurate

The SPD officer was there onsite about 60 seconds after receiving the 911 call from the employee next door to the bank. This SPD officer was able to protect and shoo-away the 2 female bank tellers who were going into the bank to work from entering. Then, he protected the bank manager after he ran from the bank and the shot(s) were fired. The SPD officer then looked thru the window of the bank, only to come FACE TO FACE thru the glass with one of these robbers. He had the option of firing, or protecting the bank manager, and he chose the latter. By the time he took care of the safty of the manager, the loser inside had fled back towards the middle. Get your facts straight before opening up your mouth. Message successfully sent to others who want to come try this crap here: "You Will Lose!"

Give me a break, those guys were risking their lives to protect your sorry self!!! I was there...behind the scenes where the negotiations were taking place...Springboro PD was on scene on the front line for the entire 5-6 hours, standing in the sun with the bank at gunpoint (did you ever think about hydration or food for them during this time, they didn't have the liberty of taking a break and going to the water fountain or water cooler like you do at your job, if you even have a job)! The S.O. and surrounding agencies were doing "crowd control" and traffic and the SWAT team (which also includes 2-3 Boro cops) was preparing for the take down. You idiots are all big and bad talking trash, but as soon as some big bad dude comes kickin in your door who will you be calling as you crap your self...thats what I thought; S'BORO PD! Shut up and get a life!

Oh, by the way, Springboro Lt. Bentley was running the show that day leading command. "Resident" needs to check facts...oh wait, people who stir up stuff online and use generic names don't deal with facts...just junk!
