This is complete crap- i was a junior at RCS and now i'm a senior at DCS. I don't care if no one ever reads this comment, but the transitions sucks, and still sucks. People call us the Ridgeville "W"itches (no, there's no "w" in our name). This was no merger. Ridgeville closed. Please don't believe what the board members and upper faculty were saying.
Precisely. Pre-freaking-cisely. This so-called merger was nothing more than a selfish business descision by Ridgeville Community Church. No amount of carefully selected words will change that.
There was so much sneaky dealing involved in this - I mean, Mr. Retzer was securing a new job weeks before the announcement!- and the mortgage deal falling through was the icing on the cake. RCC does not deserve to call itself a 'church.' It is a selfish organization built on lies.

Is the building for sale or has there actually been a realestate transaction with the Ridgeville property changing hands?

Hello,

I just wanted to say that even though everyone may think Dayton Christian is so immoral and Un-Christian, you have it wrong. I attended Dayton Christian from '02-'06, and still am close to the school today. It is not our fault that Ridgeville closed, so therefore anyone going there is there by choice. As you all said they did not 'merge' Ridgeville closed. As for you guys being welcome on sports teams, you did not have football so I don't want to hear it there. Basketball, okay I can understand there although some of your guys have received decent playing time. And all of the other sports, Dayton Christian was superior in so we are not going to allow less talented players to play on teams just to be fair. You receive the same chance as everyone else. As for the treatment by students of the original DC, I have not seen that personally, but that is unacceptable, and I am sorry for those who have received that type of treatment. Of course it is going to be hard to adjust to a new school and new people, but do not go blaming us for everything. You came by choice, and that is that.

Who dropped the ball here? Looks like admin and board really dropped it...
The group of parents trying to keep the school open did NOT get ANY of the money required by the bank that would have kept the school open.

I'm glad this place finally closed. I was class of 96 but I left in 8th grade. This was truly one of the worst schools in America. It didn't prepare its students for life but instead punished them physically for just off the wall stuff like exaggerating about how fast a car goes.

I am glad God answered my prayers and shut this place down.

Your spelling and lack of punctuation show how much you were shorted.

I went to Rcs a lon time ago and it was the worst experience of my life and I was over joyed to leave!! The whole 3 years was a nightmare! The kids in my class were from wealthy families and treated me, a poor family, like a outcast! I was even told at a b-day party by this little jerk named Troy, that he only invited me because his parents told him he had too! One teacher took me to a small room and spanked me after staring at me like a psycho. He did this because I did not jump when he said to jump! Christians?? Ha!!! Maybe a few of them! Mrs Strong and the musical teacher! She was awesome! The only good memory I have of that place WAS LEAVING!!!! Amen to that!!!

Apparently you feel that all you can do is insult people. When you are posting comments, at most sites, you are limited to the number of letters you can type so you might end up leaving out punctuation because it counts against the number of characters is limited so I feel sorry that you feel I was slighted. So I regret to tell you were the one slighted not me. Apparently you feel it is better to slam people. No wonder why you did not get along with anyone at the school they were probably glad you left. The only one I knew of not getting along with school was anyone who could not tolerate the rules they had in place. Apparently you learned nothing. Compared to the public schools the education I received at the school was better than what you received because your comments were full of errors. Good luck and do not forget to use spell check before you make comments about others.
