So glad to see a positive article on pit bulls. People often refuse to see these dogs in any sort of good light, but this is a prime example of the nature of the real pit bull. Always loyal and protective. Doesn't sound like the dog even tried to bite the rapist though, even though he deserved it!

I also am glad to see a positive article on pit bulls. I don't own one but I do believe they get a bad rap. They r protective and in the wrong hands can be lethal. The ppl who own them need to be trained as to how to handle them. Glad she had one to protect her! Too bad he didn't bite the attacker, he deserved it. Perhaps that would make him think twice before he tried this again.

Most every pit bull I've met has been a sweetheart and great with kids. It's usually the sh!thead owners that should be regulated.

p.s., Spring valley is a cesspool.

Didn't agree with it being compared to "pointing a gun" at the attacker, but it's nice to see something positive on them for once.

Kudos to the media for reporting something positive.

I'm a proud owner of an American Pit Bull Terrier, who is a big lap dog and wouldn't hurt a soul. It's really disheartening to see so many negative stories and hear so many negative comments from people who haven't and won't take the time to get to know a properly raised pit bull. They are truly a wonderful breed in the right hands (ie, not owned by a wannabe thug).

Glad to hear the positive news about this woman's pit bull. It's not the dog or the breed, it's the way they're raised. My nephew's pit bull is a terrific dog and he's great around the kids.

I agree it is nice to see something positive but if they would bar blacks from owning this breed the negative article would likely be extremely low. These dogs are bred to fight by the black man.Michael "jailbird" Vick is a prime example.I am sure this particular owner was white.
Oh my - for a few seconds there I thought you'd changed your ways!

The pitbull that rescued the grl is low my dog! He is the nicest pitbull I've even seen. It depends on the owner! That's true! Obviously if u train him to be mean then he'll be mean. But he loves babies and he is the best dog ever! I love him

Hi Everyone. This pit that rescued that girl is now mine. But yesterday he left the house and we are looking for him. He is very polite. His name is Zoe and he will listen to whatever anyone says. He is light brown with a white stripe on his face to his nose and a white neck.He weighs about 100lbs. He is two yrs and a half now. He was missing from Carriage lane in Spring Valley, NY if you have seen him or heard of anything can you please e-mail me at [email protected]?? I would really appreciate it. An award is being offered. He is greatly missed by his family.
