BEWARE -Bounce checks

Clovis, CA

#22 Jan 18, 2013
ANP was 3 month behind in paying me. After many emails and phone calls, Albert finally responded and said he was on vacation. He says they will send me a check first thing tomorrow morning. I waited for 8 days...nothing. I emailed again and Albert eventually sent me a check BUT the check bounced. I have been going after ANP for 8 months now. DO NOT work for this company.

I was an independent contractor for ANP and it became abundantly clear that they do not live up to their promises or their contract terms. I am still waiting to receive my compensation check for an invoice that I submitted for the end of November work. I was supposed to be paid the week of January 7th which is 6 weeks after the submission of my invoice and per my contract terms with them. After repeated e-mails to them, I was told that the check was being sent the week of January 7th. Then I was told it was being sent out the next week. And as of today, January 24th, I was told by Albert Suied, I am sorry but the end of year and also continuing into January has been rather slow.
"Things are just starting to pick up and we are getting busy..
That said I am going to get payment out asap but it is hard for me to commit to a day at this time...We are waiting on receivables and once they come in we will process your payroll. Sorry.."
This unacceptable as I have completed and returned all work in a timely and exemplary manner. I also have anoher invoice for the end of December and I am sure they will have an excuse for not paying that one either. I have threatened Albert with legal action and will have my attorney file papers in Court if necessary. They owe me approximately $210, but it's not about the money. It's about accountablity. I am certain that their clients have paid them long ago for the transcripts, and it is only fair that I receive payment for the work I performed.

I am a transcriber with ANP. They pay me regularly/promptly. I invoice on the last day of the month (no later) and the check arrives shortly after the last day of the next month. Never a problem. If my invoice is sent/received after the deadline of the last day of the month, sending it on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and so on of the next month would be the equivalent of sending it the last day of that month... again, being paid the last day of the following month. So sending in an invoice on October 3rd, payment would be sent out to me on November 30th. This is typical payment practice of many firms I work with. Wondering if your payment has arrived yet. Good luck to you.
I'm sorry. Five weeks until you receive payment for work you've done is NOT typical payment for transcription firms. Most transcription firms pay either the very next month (net 15) from the end of the month or pay every two weeks. I actually have a friend who transcribes from home across the street from me who picks up her check every week from the company she works for.

Take it from someone who used to work with Larry and Albert at ANP, these guys just try and come up with ways to screw over clients and employees. If you're thinking about working for them, don't, if you're thinking about giving them business, don't. Their office is a three room suite in an old run down converted house. They pay their "employees" barely anything and request the world of them. Worst part about their operation, they purposely perform actions to slow payment to employees to hold onto that capital as long as possible. They lie to clients about how many people work on their project so they can charge more.
Trust me, these are not people you want to deal with. They are untrustworthy.
THANKS, I CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT WORKING FOR anp.

Spread the word to all transcriptionists you know. That's the only way we can shut them down.

They screwed me as well to the sum of over $300. The only way we can shut them down is that we all ban together and file a joint suit against them in Federal Court because your local court can't do anything since we were all independent contractors. Albert (the owner) knows this and that's how he keeps screwing everybody. But one day, one day, his day will come. I only wish I could see it!!!

I too have had big problems with this company. Things were fine for the first six months I worked for them. Then I started to have to ask every month for my paycheck. Now they owe me over $550 from work done in February and March of this year. The last response I received from them about a month ago was a very rude email stating that they would review my invoices in a timely manner. Now they are completely ignoring me. Do not get involved with this company. They have a very poor reputation for paying their contractors and they obviously have very poor morals and ethics when it comes to following up on their end of the contract.

I was just about to take the test with ANP when I discovered all the people they had not paid on the Internet. How awful! Feel so bad for those taken advantage of!!!

Could you please post places that are legitimate for I must find a good firm that does legal, no medical, and take the test! Thanks.

That's what Larry Perrone and Albert Suied are, in fact they've given new meaning to the term. And now they're hiring new typists to get their work done, don't pay them while still not paying old, old invoices and they just keep hiring. The only way to stop them is to shut them down and alert any typists thinking of working for them that they should not -- you won't get paid or you may get paid one invoice and then you too will be joining this long list of people ripped off by ANP Transcriptions. Individually I know Larry Perrone is on Linked In and that would be another place to give them bad press. Contacting the Labor Board doesn't do any good for independent contractors. You have to go the state attorney and that will most likely happen in the state the independent contractor is in. I saw someone else make a statement about a class action. Don't know if that can be done, but I'd be on board.
. Any pay I miss, I'll file a complaint with the state attorney general which you can do on line.

I'm going through this right now. I've prepared a demand for payment and I am prepared to file a small claims suit, but I live out of state. Any advice would be welcome. A class action suit in federal court sounds like a plan to me, and I'd be willing to be involved.

Reading all these posts has me worried.
I have had experiences with small firms being late paying by a few days before but not like people are describing here!
So what companies ARE worth working for?

I have been working for ANP since the last part of 2012 and in the beginning I was paid late a couple times by a few days and once by a couple weeks but I was always paid in full, and for the last several months, since they got their steady contract, I have been paid on time every month or even early.

Anyone working for ANP? Have their practices gotten any better? They're trying to get me to work for them, which of course I won't do if things are no better. I hope everyone has gotten paid.

Absolute evaders of first class, never ever pays anyone probably. A common lawsuit would be fantastic to recover the payments from them.
I have been following up our invoice for June and July 2013, and until date have not received any payments at all. Their nonpayment behavior just continues.

Fact: I currently work for them.
Opinion: The work can be a delight.
Fact: For the year 2013, 13 out of 15 of my payments were paid later than agreed upon between ANP and me. 7 of those 13 were a week later than even that date.

i nicknamed these people 'transcription impossible' the files they gave me often horrible. five or six people all talking over each other. every now and then i got a file that was decent quality.
i patiently waited for my check, which did not arrive as promised. I emailed Larry who ignored my email. i emailed him a week later and he told me to talk to accounting but gave me no contact information. Using google I found the president of the company and emailed him. He paid me via PayPal within 48 hours of my complaint.
These people were always unpleasant to deal with and wanted the impossible. I advise everyone stay away.
I am now with CLK Transcriptions, doing essentially the same thing but much better quality files, people that are helpful and easy to get a hold of, and I have been paid on time.
