Good Repair/Handy Man

I was wondering if everyone else has such trouble finding a good handyman to do light repairs on their house.

I called several places for estimates, and most were outrageous. I would do these things myself, but I was recently hurt in an accident, and ever since have not been able to lift heavy things, but I digress,...

So when I found a good handyman I could trust I thought I would post the details to save everyone the trouble...

The guy's name is James and his outfit is called R&R Home Services.

I think the web address is or something like that.

They do really good work (they helped replace all of our ceiling fans, and light fixtures for new ones).

Hope you find them as handy as I did!

Bashan's Painting was very affordable and they did good work for me. I think they do repairs as well. Good Luck

Bashans did a really bad and incomplete job. Then, to top it off they were very rude and demanded immediate payment even though they knew there were problems with the job and that it was not done. John Bashans made multile daily threatening and rude calls. Now, six months later it still is not done and the part they did to is falling apart. DO NOT USE BASHAN'S PAINTING AND HOME REPAIR IN KATY OR ANYWHERE ELSE.

John Bashans was arrested today for attacking me (his customer) in small claims court. You might want to avoid him.

I used a company called Rapid Bath Remodleing, they do a variety of things. Their prices are competetive, but the quality of work is great. I am retired and always leary of handymen/women. I had them provide insurance info and they offered me the information that they are licensed with TRCC State of Texas. Good Luck

I agree with you 100%. They came out to do some stucco repair to my house and caused a lot of damage before deciding they didn't know what they were doing. The most unprofessional group of people I've ever encountered, from the receptionist to the owner.

I wish I had read these comments first. It looks like I will see John in small claims court as well.

Our experience with Bashan's was, once again, GREAT! We have used them 2 times now, one for painting our kitchen a few years ago and this last job, they repaired a wall and part of the ceiling that sustained water damage, cutting and replacing sheetrock, repainting both areas and it looks fabulous! They replaced the hardy plank on the outside of the house along with flashing and cocking on the roof where the problem stemmed from and as part of our project, they replaced 6 windows overlooking our pool area, even staining the wood around the windows inside,(which wasn't part of the job) and it looks fabulous!!! WE are extrememly happy with the entire process and the professionalism of Bashan's workers. We will definately call them again in the future and will highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good contractor. They were very thorough in their asessment of the job leaving us with a detailed itemised written estimate (we had 2 other estimates that weren't very professional in their dealings both in person and otherwise) Bashan's crew was prompt,(the others never showed for their first appointment and never even called) Bashan's was affordable, they were curtious, and their workmanship was outstanding.!! They went above and beyond!! We have recommended them to our neighbors and like I said before, I will gladly and honestly recommend them to others who are serious about getting the best for their money and for a job that is of good quality and that is well done!
After reading the comments of others, I wonder if we're talking about the same company????

Bashans Painting paints about 1200 houses a year. They have 20 years of experience. They never accept any money untill the job has been completed. All their crews are experienced long term. But however not every home owner is reasonable and you can not make everyone happy. Some people just don't want to pay. We strive to make everyone happy and keep up with the service needs of people. There is always a hand full of people you can't make happy no matter what you do. We are a very sucsessful company for all the right reason.

I used Better Look Home Improvments and found this service incredibly cheap and the work was exceptional. The young man who did all my repairs was very polite and respectable. He took care of all of my wife's "To-do" list for a price I would have payed double for someone to finish. Great guy.

I used Bashans Painting and Home Repair, I found them to be professional. The crew did a great job and the office help were absolutely wonderful and helpful. We did need a few touch ups but that is the way it is when your painting the whole house. They came back out and fixed the touch ups in a timely manner. I had another company a couple years ago come out and they did a horrible job, paint was everywhere, lines not straight etc.. I am glad I hired Bashans Painting to do my painting. I highly recommend their company to any of my friends.

Bashan's Painting did a very unprofessional and sloppy job! I will NEVER recommend them to anyone! They made a huge mess and did not seem concerned. There were pieces of wood left everywhere. Old paint and caulking that had been removed was just thrown down and not picked up. They do not seem to understand that paint has to dry before adding a second coat. It was all sticky/gummy and done in a hurry. Nails, pieces of metal, cigarettes, old tar paper, etc. were left all over our yard and never picked up. When wood was replaced on our house, they did not match up the pieces. Seems like that would be easy to do if that is what you do. Paint was dripped on the house and dried like that!!! They dripped caulk all over our air conditioning unit outside and then just smeared it on there in leui of cleaning it off!!!!! They must not have used high quality brushes. Heavy brushstrokes abound!!!! The owner is NUTS and will get crazy if you have any complaints. VERY verbally abusive if there are any complaints!!!!! Goes psycho. STEER CLEAR!!!!!! Do NOOOOOOOTTTTT use this company!!!!

I just had Bashans come and do a front porch face lift. they did an excellent job done on time and priced as quoted. They cleaned up after themselves. i even had to give them the code to get into the house when no one was home and no problems. Ihave some more work I am looking at having them quote. must be they have had some personnel changes since the previous bad reviews??

We used Bashans Painting several years ago and were very pleased so I hired them again to repaint the interior and exterior of our home. What a mistake! This is the worst paint job I have ever seen. The painters rushed through everything and their work was very sloppy. Paint drips can be seen on all the walls, paint splatters are all throughout the house on our wood floor, I was charged extra for painting over an orange wall and you can still see specks of orange through the new color, my baseboards and trim look horrible - no sanding was done on most of it prior to painting...I could go on an on. Today they showed up today to finish the corner round they forgot in one of the bathrooms and for the salesman that originally bid our job to look at the issues; he insisted that he couldn't see the orange paint and was extremely rude. Needless to say, we will use another company to come make the repairs.
