I was wondering how long it would take for somebody to make a comment like that, and y'all didn't let me down. You call yourselves "civilized", but anybody who would think that it's OK because they don't think the Amish follow our laws (another misunderstanding on your part) would be closer to a caveman, IMO.
I've never EVER seen any of the Amish in that area riding down the middle of the road or even riding bicycles 10 across.
Well now you don't have to wonder any longer and you can move on to the next story.

I remember several years ago a young man from a mennonite/amish background (I knew him). He plowed into an incident girl leaving work from the Shippensburg Pizza Hut and killed her... did he do jail time for killing her... NO! was he charged YES!

The only road I don't see them using is 81 and the turnpike.

I don't believe the "caveman" said where they have seen them riding 10 wide, maybe not in ur part of the world. How about traveling on the country roads in Ship and you will see them. I just a group of Amish girls the other day riding darn close to 10 wide and they don't move or even look back to see if there is a car.

How do you know if they do or don't follow the law. You their lawyer?

Just b/c people voice their opinions in these forums doesn't mean u have to jump all over them. FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!!!!

The Amish aren't as populated in Metal Twp as they are in Fannett Twp. If you aren't accustomed to driving on the road with the Amish you might not realize how quickly you come up on them. After a while you get used to it though.
I do. They even ride right behind the horse drawn buggy b/c the entire family can't fit into one. Normally the teenage girls or boys.

I thought that it's a speed LIMIT not a required speed. Not that everyone is required to drive 55 there, but that they aren't allowed to go more than 55. Am I wrong? I am as guilty as the next of wanting to get where I'm going as fast as I can but we should all be a bit more considerate (slow and fast drivers alike) before someone ends up dead.
You can be pulled over for going to slow also! Trust me it happened to me in chambersburg. I cant stand people that drive slower than the speed limit! If you cant go 55 down 11 or 16 stay off the road or take back roads! It just seems that those types of drivers go slower than the speed limit no matter where they go! 55 they will go 40 45 they are going 35! Then on 81 is the greatest speed limit 65 and i've seen people going 55. I'm just saying there are back roads to everywhere around here if you want to go slower take a road that has a slower speed limit and quit holding everyone else up because you are sight seeing.

I ride the road that this event happened on frequently, and I know the Amishman who was hit - that's how I know the stuff I posted. Maybe you have a different "brand" of Amish over there in Shippensburg - it's a college/party town, maybe you have party Amish (doubt it).

I didn't understand a lot of your post; must be words missing. What is an "incident girl", and how did he kill her with a horse and buggy?
