I feel for the family and friends, and it's unfortunate that the Johnny is an jerk and has no tact.

I agree with you. I would be horrified if that were my family member. Agh, it is so windy this weekend, I don't think I would of been out on the lakes

I hope they find this man.

I think most folks wonder why he was on the lake at 3am. Doesn't mean I think he deserves to drown but it's a fair question.

at least he didn't go driving that night and crash into someone. i swim off my boat sometimes too. if you jump in or swim under about 5 feet you can lose track of which way is up.

STP Carrie must not have ever been on Minnetonka. Every night of the year when the ice is out a boat is on the lake -- wind or not. This is a sad story but in it we should find joy for it's the only death this weekend on the lake. That, my friends, is luck.

Would you be posting any of these comments to this disgusting thread if this was a member of your family? All of you that are specualting, get off it!!! Why a newspaper, online site, or even a blog, would at this point speculate at what happened when we haven't even found him yet. I think this is rude and disgraceful. Unless you KNOW what happened, don't start or spread rumors that you can't back up. And furthermore, why a site would even allow anyone to place a comment when the person is still missing is beyond belief. If there is anything that I could say, it would be shut down the comments, it's horrible enough to not know what happened but to see others speculate and make comments other than well wishes is completely rude.

Family: While I agree with much of what you say, this is a nation that, at one point, believed in "free speech,"

I don't know this man's situation but I can say for a fact that the level of boating wisdom on Minnetonka has dwindled in recent years. Using this lake is definitely taking your life into your own hands. The Water Patrol tries to make the lake safer but, with a mere three full time employees they're fighting an uphill battle. Meanwhile the brain trust at the LMCD squanders untold thousands on a BS quarterly four-color newsletter. In my view, eliminating that panel of morons, and their full time chimp, would free up some extra cash for proper enforcement.

This man was NOT intoxicated. He was a very responsible individual who died of an accidental drowning.
