I just want to mention that WZZM (channel 13) did an excellent job of covering the severe weather last night! Also, on Friday, their coverage of the bad weather was excellent! Being able to see on their weather map where the storm is and the severity of it helps calm my nerves....a bit.
A BIG thanks to all the channel 13 employees who helped with the broadcast on Friday & Saturday night!((()))

Lost power about 10pm and came back on about 8:45am. Thank goodness for living in the village limits! We had some mild flooding from the rain seemping in the basement door but that's about it. If we would have a had a sump pump, we would be swimming with the batmobile right now!

We had a great light show last night along with the rain. We were lucky not to loose our power, but my niece and step son were afraid of the storm so I had to try to keep them calm.
Storms are a beautiful thing! The lightings is amazing!!

Saw that coming to GT. I'm bummed our Sunday Lakeshore ride got cancelled but with all that rain we had and more coming we have no idea if roads are flooded or covered with sand. The water is still rising here...

yeah, if the power goes out we just watch things float around down there. I've learned not to get too attached to stuff. And the kids wonder why we don't "finish" the basement. All that money spent on waterproofing is enough "finish" for me. I still have the bottle of bleach down there at the ready for cleanup-groundwater is so yucky. Oh well, at least it's not a tornado!

My mom's basement ended up with water in it last night...not a fun clean up. Have a graduation open house to go to today at a park....good thing there is a building there to use too. Hopefully nothing severe today! I don't think I can handle another night like last night.

Last night was mild compared to the storm we had a couple of years ago-(then it lightninged for like two hours straight and downpoured and we lost power).] We ran two sumppumps-one was like this portable thing with a hose on it, and only have some water in two corners of the basement. THe GENIUS who put our sumppump in put it in the highest corner of the basement! I'm not a physics genius or anything but even I know that's retarded.(BTW, anyone ever try to track d own someone who's worked on your house before? A lot of those guys go out of business!) So anyway if we have another night like last night it will flood for sure, then we'll have four-six inches of water in the basement, more if the power goes out. We'll wet-vac for a couple of hours after the pump comes back on, then mop with bleach. Yuk. It's just TOO MUCH FUN! I need more caffiene.
You all have a wonderful day and don't go out in the lightning with an umbrella! Does anyone besides my wonder why there is a metal tip on umbrellas?
