Thank you Tony Tague. I am hoping that the loads of letters you received from the rescue groups helped change your mind.

Good for Tony Tague! I'm glad he took a stand and made this a felony! I will never understand how a person can knowingly watch an animal starve to death. It is not a fast/pain-free way to die - these horses endured days of pain & suffering. I hope he gets the maximum sentence.

Well said, I couldn't agree more. So horrific for those poor animals. |

Let's put the guy in a cell with no food except for a bowl of rat poison, just to see what he'd do.

In newaygo co, my next door neighbor did not properly care for his horses for the last year. They were all skin and bones, and the foul did not make it through the winter. Animal control was called to investigate quite a few times ... he still owns horses ... How many have to die before anything is done?
Maybe he will start to take care of them seeing the laws are changing huh! |

Maybe the horses ate the rat poison to put themselves out of their misery? |

Wow, TV Tony found enough time at the Mayor of Muskegons bar to go to work sober and charge someone for a change.....I'll drink to that.
I wonder how often he still hangs out with Cocaine Lawyer Terry nolan? |

Let's see, an out of work (at the time) day laborer does the best he can (the article states investigators found grain and hay)for the horses which as it turns out might not actually be his, but you morons and bleeding hearts want to lock him away on a felony charge (max 4 years) at the conclusion of which he will be completely unemployable.
So, you want to pay more taxes to house, feed, train, and "rehabilitate" an unemployable day rater, because three horses with no market died. Had there been a market for these farm animals, perhaps this wouldn't have happened. |

There is no reason or excuse for knowingly letting an animal starve to death. There are rescues for horses that could have been contacted. So yes, my bleeding heart believes he should be charged with a felony. I believe letting and watching an animal (or animals) starve to death exceeds animal neglect and crosses over to cruelty. There were plenty of options to get these horses taken care of. |

I agree w/ LMS.
If he was unemployed and couldn't afford to feed them, he should have done SOMETHING to make sure that they were being fed - even if it meant surrendering them to a rescue facility. Whether they were his or not - he KNOWINGLY let them starve to death. |
