We had Charter, but I thought their customer service and their bundle prices for internet, phone, and cable were outrageous, so we switched to AT&T bunble w/ Dish Network. Ugg, their prices were better, until we signed up and got our 1st bill... now I keep getting the runaround. I was on the phone for 2 hours with them because my bill was wrong. After that, they took off the extra charges, but they were still on my bill and because I didn't pay for the extra charges they supposedly took off, our satelite service was shut off AFTER customer service was already closed for the night. I'm so mad that I have to call them back yet again and be on the phone for another 2 hours. Any suggestions?? Please help!!!

We have charter and we hate it. They where rude while hooking everything up. The bundles and fees, bad service. Internet service in Spring Hill is lacking in my opinion.

ATT SUCKS as well. DSL Stinks..I had to fight with them for 3 months to get the bill down to what was SOLD TO ME. My advice.. threaten a class action law suit and they will lower your fees.

I went through the same exact thing. If you bark enough at them, they'll cut your bill..although, I just checked my last bill and what I was told would be the fee is not the fee.. so.. here we go again!

Oh my... boy do I feel you guys. Charter is flippin ridiculous! I've had soooo many problems with them that you wouldn't even begin to believe. I'm going to cancel them to get DirectTV within the next month. However, I'll probably have to keep them for my ISP(Internet Service Provider) unfortunately.
There is one company that's worse than Charter, in my opinion,..Comcast. I could spend days ranting about my issues with them.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand... I say good luck w/ AT&T. You're probably/are better off with them than Charter. Just deal w/ AT&T's BS... trust me... better than dealing with Charter's.

they all suck. Get off your fat arses and stop watching tv. do stuff for your community instead of being couch potatoes and getting fat.

We have Charter bundle and haven't had any problems at all. Costumer service has been good too. We did lose service often when our subdivision was still in construction but since the area has been finished, we stopped losing service. The ocassional times when it happens, costumer service has been polite and helpful. I'm really surprised at some of your comments. Maybe we have been lucky. I hate AT&T customer service so I won't go back to them for as long as we have another option. They had to send a letter of apology to us once because of the insulting guy on the phone.

i guess none of you has ever had small town cable. that is the only choice we have besides satellite tv. they don't have a bundle service. they don't have near the channels that are offered to you guys. i would go to a satellite but i know people who have had nothing but problems with them too. no good solution to this problem until there is more competition. then these companies would have to care about there customer service. they would have to or lose a customer.

I dumped Charter last month after trying it for 2 years. The phone and internet is TERRIBLE in Buckner Lane area. Outages for several days per month-we call it the Hooterville Phone/Internet! So back to AT&T-no choice here-it is about the same $, but MUCH more dependable-I should never have changed from BS/AT&T in the first place.

good luck with AT&T..
I learned if you have more than a few computers on their DSL at the same time, it constantly drops sync and you get no internet, this happens at least 10 times an hour. ATT&'s conclusion..

thats the way it goes.

I have 3 desktops, 2 laptops, 1 xbox360, 1 Wii, 1 DirecTV HD-DVR, 3 Nintendo DSs, and 1 iPod Touch that all connect to our AT&T DSL via a wireless modem. I've never experienced anything like the issue you describe.

we've had a technician out to the house, we've had 2 modems and both do the same thing. If we're doing something wrong in our setup, numerous calls to tech support have not solved the problem.

its one of the 2Wire Modems ATT leases you when you sign up for service.

it happens when we have 4 connections hitting the modem at the same time. Its fine when only 1 or 2 are using wireless. get 4 on it at the same time and it drops all sync all the time.

Sounds like lefty1962 knows what he's talking about, or at least is relaying ATT's reason for the problem.
Either way it's a problem he/she is having with ATT.

Perhaps it's 'Foo" making the useless assumption here?

lefty: have you not tried to use/buy your own "router" ?

It's ATT's fault for supplying POS devices, yes..i agree with you there.
