I finally got the chance to go to Susie's Grill on Mariner Blvd., what a disappointment, very noisey, you can't hear yourself think over everyone elses voices, and if there's a large table of people like this day, with their laughter (very loud)it was unbearable. The food is average, nothing to rave about, but what I did observe was the manager yelling at the servers, get those creamers on the table, get the coffee, get the food, servers were running every which way, sweat running down their brows, running like they were ready to collaspe. The woman barking orders, set my stomach rolling, how anyone could work under such conditions is beyond me. When I was leaving (I couldn't wait to get out of there) she was still barking. I know I won't be back.

Surely you know that Susie's Grill is the same operation as Susie's II near 19. They moved.

Sure "Susie's" is the 'new' of the 'old' which had been located for awhile on the south side of Spring Hill Drive just off Rt 19 until several weeks ago.

Tried it several times. Food just about acceptable but can be put up with in shortage of 'real special eateries' nearby.

Found out that several servers, formerly at the now defunct "Resterant" have joined the crew at "Susie's" only to leave voluntarily, or be canned, by the "Mistress" running the floor, at the new location on Mariner Drive [south 1/4 mile of the 'Y']. All seem to be looking for other bean houses.

Why is any employer so hard on their 'troops'?
Seems that if you think 'ME - Great - Me Boss' you can't accept 'underlings' and try to prove the 'Me-Boss'

Heard enugh, yes, could smell it in air, to decide that 'The Mistress' by sounding off before this customer lost this family as customers.

Good Luck to Those needing jobs.... Wish this old union organizer could point you to a union.

Yes, I knew they were one and the same, but here's a restaurant filled with customers, and you have this drill sargent barking orders like she's in the Army, get the creamers filled, get coffee, take money at the register, the servers are there to wait on customers, not stop and go to the registers to do the drill sargents job, that takes them away from the kitchen, customers and food. So while the cook is banging his bell, pick up, the server is at the register with lines of people wanting to pay, the food sits and by the time it gets to people its cold. The drill sargent has those servers shaking in their shoes, do as I say or lose your job attitude, thankfully I don't need to work, I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a job, who needs to be barked at all day long.

Susie Ouch!

got info there today about THOUSAND ISLE

... seems that Thousand Isle ain't hiring any old staff left over from earlier eatery that is being replaced...

... would seem that however one server spotted today worked there years back and was known to con the customers

... eating home, meets the test,,.best

The drill sargent is still barking orders, several new staff members, I know at least three customers who have left and won't be back, moved on to greener grasses. To be fair, the food is reasonable but I just wish they'd get rid of the barking drill sargent, she gets on my nerves, and the wait staff deserves better.

If you want decent "diner food", try Papa's Place, 19 and Forest. He used to be at Kass Circle.

Becky's place for breakfast was sure better than those chains joints. But I did like Sambo's. Later they changed to Sams-political correctness.
