Just how hot is it? Its 92 at my house, 346 p. edt. Not a bad day, nice breeze, mostly sunny.
Great morning working on the yard. Tossed down 10 2cu Ft bags of cypress mulch and then decided its so much cheaper to buy by the yard. Went to the garden center and got a whole yard, dumped and spread it.
The sun makes the sandy soil very hot. Like walking on a beach. Thus covering it with mulch is easier than planting/growing/mowing grass. It will help
the "soil" as it rots away.
Bet you have good dark soil in KY.

Yeah where I live I have good black rich dirt. I mulch usually in the late fall to help with freezing. I have had some spots in my yard that's hard to do anything with tho. I just used cow manure to enrich the soil. I know this sounds gross but I also use like bananna peelings and egg shells and other this and thats to make my own composte, lol. I watched Marth Stewart and she had that on one day, lol. It's really just scraps of this and that from your kitchen and it does work. I own about 25 acres and I have a yard and play area that takes up around 4 acres I guess. It's not really really too hot here today either, but I had been out playing with the kids and got hot and had to come in,lol. I'm outta shape I guess and it doesn't take much, lol. Do you have a garden or anything this year? I know a lady that lives there in Spring Hill that is a distant relative of my husband, or at least she did live there.

Oh yeah it's around 90's here also, it's just humid here and it makes it miserable ya know

Sounds good. Nothing in the garden, its too hot.
Will start planting in September. Mostly go with cherry tomatoes and beans. Small garden. Just a standard lot here, 100 x 100 or so.
Composting is good. I don't do it, but I know that a lot of people do and it makes great garden
soil. I understand about amendments. We use
cow manure here too. The soil is so sandy that
nothing much grows well unless the soil in enriched.
I am using the mulch to invigorate the ground
and also help stop erosion as the sand likes to
go down hill onto the sidewalk when it rains.
Its just a over sandy area that I dont want to put grass in because then I have to mow it!
Just make a nice planting area in the mulch instead.
Yeah, we know about humidity. Thankfully we get a "sea breeze" here.

Well we only have about 5 acres that is semi-flat anyways, lol, we have little hilly areas in what I consider flat, lol, the rest of it is covered in timber. I inherited this land and the house I live in I also grew up in. It isn't anything fancy but I really love every blade of grass here!! I have 2 small kids and I also have a 3 yr old niece that I keep most of the time and I really think it's so cool to watch them play and grow up where I did as a child! I don't have any close neighbors and I can let them just run around playing and not have to worry about traffic and after going to friends houses or places where there is traffic I panick, lol, I'm not use to that and honestly it's around a mile to anyone's house from mine. I'd imagine that sounds like the wild kingdom or something, lol, but it's what I'm use to and like. How about you? I live around 30-40 minutes from our town. I guess you would call it the "boondocks",lol. I have been to Florida a couple times and I absolutely love your state!! I hadn't been to see the ocean until I think about 3-4 yrs ago and I just fell in love! It's so beautiful and I would love to have beach house or something there whenever winter comes around. Maybe whenever I retire I just might try that. Well I gotta go. It has been very nice talking to ya! Bye for now

I don't call the Dr's in these so called pain clinics Dr's they are legalized drug dealers. I think the State of Florida should be responsible to help with detox fees, after all they are the ones turning their heads to these "Pain clinics". I think everyone I know has been affected by this epidemic of drugs in one way or another.

Did you even read the article? It says nothing about pills. It's about marijuana. Anyway, there SHOULD be only a few who can buy narcotics legally, the one's that need them. Unfortunately, people have found out they can get "high" by abusing them which only makes it harder for the "few" who actually need them. They will only kill you if you abuse them or mix w/other drugs. And marijuana should be decriminalized, there has never been a case of an OD on pot!
