There are some good contractors out there and some bad ones. One of the worst that I have ever seen is Jose Raul Castillo of Castillo Improvements of Spring Hill. He did some work for a friend of mine (installed tiles in a bathroom and installed a fan). After he was done the toilet had to be reset because it was off level due to the tiles being improperly set. After a couple of months the fan fell because of an improperly installed fan box.

Truth Of The Matter, because there are many people that do not know when someone is doing a lousy and dangerous job and they are getting away with it.

It still leaves the question as to why someone would complain but never compliment. Back to your friend. They accepted this lousy work at the end and paid for it? The building inspector did not inspect this work and approve it? I think your friends story has some holes in it.

Yes, truth of the matter, everyone makes up stories, the guy just wanted people to know about this one contractor, at least I know if I'm looking for someone to do work at my home, I won't contact this fellow, yes, there are many good guys out there, there's a fellow right down the block Javier who I've seen his work and he's good, can't speak no English at all, but does good work, he can say yes or no in English, how he gets jobs is beyond me unless he only works with those that speak Spanish.

In the northeast Mexicans work for someone for a couple of years then they start their business and their work is good. If you needed a stone mason years ago the Italians were doing it, now it's the Mexicans. Yes there are people that do good work just as there are people that do lousy work. So the bottom line is would you not want to know if someone is doing lousy work and stay away from that business.

Ran across this guy's work. Low skills and it shows in the quality. He likes to work at the residential community of wellington at seven hills where he can take advantage of older individuals.

I checked this guy's credentials. Castillo Improvements or Raul Castillo is not licensed and has a bbb complaint against him. Apparently he did not want to correct the problem with the customer.
