Signs of mistreatment

Clementon, NJ

#1 Dec 25, 2010
We purchased our male puppy, Louis, in April. He was fine with us when we went to pick him up, did not cry or growl or anything. When we asked to see the parents or another puppy, she was reluctant to allow us to see them. She said she could bring one of the other puppies out, and when she did he smelled so bad! Full of pee. I should have known from that moment but he was so cute I just wanted to take him home. When we got home, he would growl at anyone that came over our house, or whenever we took him out in public. I am under the impression that he was not treated right as a puppy, because he growls at almost everyone. Even friends who have been over numerous times a month. He was also groomed at an early age, which you should not do to a puppy because that will affect their coats when they are fully grown. I love my dog so much, I am glad I saved him from these people. They are not BBB accredited. I never read a review about them online, so I am writing one now. Beware! Research!

Other places and states? I grew up in Miami, drove 5 hours to Spring Hill to pick the dog up. Please do not judge me by my review because I am being 100% honest. I did not state that my puppy was ever in bad health or anything like that, because it was the complete opposite. I wrote the review because of the living conditions and treatment I assume the puppy went through before I bought him when he was 3 months old. I purchased a second schnauzer and his temperament towards people is like day and night compared to my first dog, who I am writing the review for. Also, My new dog's coat feels so much better, why? Because he has not been fully groomed yet. Ask any groomer or vet, and they will tell you that puppies should NOT be shaved because their coat will grow differently once they are fully grown. I have seen this with my own eyes, and have learned my lessons with purchasing a puppy. I will ask for references, research online and make sure that the groomer is accredited by the Better Business Bureau.

Are people not allowed to move to different states for career opportunities? This isn't about where I live, it's about a dog that obviously has some issues and was not properly taken care of and loved for the first 3 months of his life.

I have purchased a total of 3 schnauzers pups at different times from Blairs, all of which have been healthy, happy and well adjusted. I went there different times and asked to see many different pups of who I had not planned on seeing. There was never a moment I wasn't aloud to see a pup or that any of them were dirty or smelly. You can clean a puppy pen and two seconds later ones goes the the bathroom and another steps in it. It happens ! As for the puppy barking, all dogs are different as are people. I take my dogs to visit nursing homes and they are VERY well adjusted.I took the time and training to make them that way. Pups each have different personalities and it is how YOU work with them to make them the type of dog you want. I highly recommend them to anyone who want beautiful, happy healthy schnauzer pups!

I bought 2 puppies from them, and they are all in excellent condition...
Puppies are puppies...all they do are : playing, sleeping, eating and poop or pee...It's all natural....
Puppies need to learn to be groomed as early as 6 weeks, so they are get used to, with clipper or blower's sound...It's same with the boys. If we didn't introduce the clipper on their head early, the boys wouldn't like the sound of clipper. All puppies need to be cleaned, and groomed as their standard. Are you ready to buy a schnauzer or a mutt ?

I purchased my puppy in 2007. I live in NJ so my puppy was shipped to me. I took her to a vet and she was healthy and up to date with her shots. She is a dream come true. Very affectionate although does takes some time to warm up to strangers. Very smart and easily trained. Travels to Europe with me and is very well behaved on the plane. Everyone loves her. Would definitely recommend this breeder.

thank you all for your commments - unfortunately the one that sticks out is the f--n abuse and greed by these Florida and all over breeders. You keep breedding breeding - posting for 1,095 - 1,795 - and you run puppy mills - not allowed to see parents or other puppies? Thanks people - I know where to NOT go to get my new schnauzer.

WOULD like to rebut my last comment - i did not do enough research - one bad review should not hurt a good breeder.

If the buyer who bought Louis had a problem this is the first I have heard of it...as to my pup smelling bad?? every pup gets a fresh bath and grooming before leaving for their new home...Why post comments behind my back rather than address them to me? sounds like you should have purchased something other than a schnauzer...

Who are you people? you hide behind your emails rather than talk to someone direct...I have never had one single check mark from AKC who checks my home and my kennel yearly, as well as my paperwork..I do not push puppies on buyers like some breeders do..If you want to see the parents then you need to give me a days notice because dogs are dogs and they do not get daily baths..pardon me for wanting to show them to you clean and smelling good...I don't have to defend myself..my pups are loved and raised in my home, not in the kennel...and they all get vet checked before leaving..
