Only 1/3rd of Vietnam veterans are left. A hand salute goes to all those who have served.

I lived in New York for 8 years of my life and I loved it. There is so much diversity and hustle and bustle it keeps you on your toes. I have met many different kinds of people ranging from dicks to sincere, kind people. The one thing I cannot stand is when anyone agrees with the stereotype about NYers being rude. It is complete BS. Its like saying all black people play basketball and all white people can't dance. My mother was born and raised in NY and she is a sweetheart. She hasn't changed. People here in FL can only tell shes from NY by her accent. My father, hes outgoing and funny, slightly blunt but that is HIS OWN UNIQUE PERSONALITY.

We moved down here because he got a job transfer, and we hated it at first. People from other states complain about FLs 'rednecks' and there are some people that do match the stereotype. But not all. And definitely not even most. Its the same with NYers. NYers may be percieved as rude because a few old farts moved down south because of the cold. Its also a different culture for them (i dont consider myself a NYer anymore) and they are not used to it. Anyone going to a new place may act differently because they are in stress. Anyone, from anywhere. Just because the group of NYers who came down here are percieved as rude or nasty (a lot of the time older people) are just upset that circumstances took them from their origin, doesnt mean they are always rude and nasty. Ive had some NYers that wikl hold the door to the elevator for me ir help.me out when I was lost. My new neighbors who moved in are NYers and theyre kind and generous and gave the kids across the street cookies. Cmon guys. Were all people here. And not everyone is the same. Sayong that NYers are all rude is saying that ALL WHO KNOWS HOW MANY MILLION PEOPLE FROM NEW YORK ARE THE SAME. IT IS JUST NOT TRUE AND NO EVIDENCE SUPPORTS CLONING OR INBREEDING. In fact, mostly people just from NYC are thought of as rude. Upstate New york is completely different. Rural in some parts even. I find it insulting to humanity for anyone to
believe in any stereotype, of any race, gender, state, country or planet. Its insulting yourself
and making YOU look stupid enough to believe that all people from one place or another are the
same when there are obvious exceptions and evidence that says it is NOT TRUE. HOW DO YOU FEEL BEING LABELED AS REDNECK CRACKERS THAT LIVE INCEST? Not good. I don't believe that one second. If you give people a chance, most will turn out to be decent people. Stop the stereotypes and prejudice. I already deal with enough of it as a sophomore. School is a microcosm of the world. And they ask where we get our bickering, mean spirits, and foolishness from?

yes, important, that people be accepted as people.

all people have one thing in common.....they react

the how of the reaqction is the good/bad of the people.

hence, accept or reject people, or better yet, their verbalizationn, because we have freedom of speech, and remember.....New Yorkers grow up free to comment quicker than toothless retards from much of the rest of the world.....luckily they think before they speak.......

they get it right.
