Three new PBS Oldies shows will be taped in Pittsburgh in May. The official announcement will be made on Pittsburgh's WQED-TV on March 20th.

Yes, folks we're off to Pittsburgh, Pa. in May to tape one of the shows, haven't seen some of the acts in years, fun times for sure. Can't wait.

Those "acts" are 50+ years old. The people in those "acts" are 70+. Most of them sound like crap these days. Let that era rest already.

Enjoy Pittsburg.

Seems quite a while since some of our now 'oldies' got a chance to strut their stuff with the other 'Goldies'.

It amazes me how many still have voice left. Many unfortunately just can't let air passing their cords do what they want it to.

I date 'oldies' back to about 1960, some even 1947, lot of years since then.

Shoot in May, hope to hear, and then too, see, when?

Hey Rambo.....

Give those 'oldies' a break; may be old, but those left ain't dead, and for them might be fun, or a day in the sun.

For a guy, who ducked 'the bullet' almost as many years back, don't be a quack demanding they give it a 'break'

I remember, one nice kid, name, was it 'Presley', who didn't hang in until old; me, miss the guy. I'm sure you, Rambo, know why.

Hearing the golden oldies was fine in the 1970's but by the 80's it wore out and stayed out. A revival of it in the late 90's as those aging participants in yesteryear realized they needed the money.

How did you find out about the oldies show in Pittsburgh with TJ Lubinsky. I only found out after it was over. I went to the taping of the show in Elizabeth 2 years ago. When TJ was on Sirius he would talk about shows. I live in Florida too.

Being a former doowop singer, I still have connections in the business, and am usually up to date on most things concerning the subject.

Or you could just contact PBS and ask them about it.

You could contact your local PBS station and surely they will point you in the right direction.

NEVER ask a question of the multinamed crackpot because you will NEVER get a straight answer. Bullshit story, yes, straight answer, never.

Your response sounds like crap. Did you listen to the PBS special recently (Feb. 2011)? Go ahead, tell me who sounded like crap. I didn't think so, Scooter. Go back to your Metallica and Motorhead nonsense, or whatever you listen to. The golden age of R&R lives, irregardless of people's age. Check your warbling throat at the door. They don't need your money anyway. By the way, how perfect are YOU at what you do, mindless one?

Gee I saw a show on PBS recently which included Jay Black doing "Cara Mia" and he sounded like he did in 1965...amazing.

TJ just signed a contract with PBS for concerts through 2012, the first of three new concerts aired March 5th, there was a tribute to the late Johnny Maestro, although maybe 5 mins. it could have been longer. The Brooklyn Bridge was NOT invited to join the show. Several people have commented that the "canned" applause was annoying, and that the shots of the audience were from previous shows. This show I thought was not the BEST. I did enjoy The Orlons they sounded fantastic as they did when they recorded their hits. Ronnie Spector was fab. also I'm a huge fan of her hit "Be My Baby". Most of the 2 hr show was hawking their CD's and video's, which if you wait you can get them much cheaper at the Flea Market on 52. I'm glad that TJ is doing the shows as many of the acts from previous shows, members have passed on and at least they have the tapes of these shows, that we can enjoy for years to come.

LOL. If they sound like crap them todays artist are crap. I am amazed that most of these golden voices still have the same passion as they did them. You seem to have a personal problem with them because either you listen to them, or you don't, but to say something like that can only mean that you don't know talent, or you are someway in the music business unsuccessively, and bitter.
