Yeah, I think so too. These folks just want to state their position and hear no argument against it. So what if their comments are 1/2 baked. Like the unemployment. They think EVERYBODY gets the maximum. Surely not so. If you were at $50k a year and lost your executive position or other decent paying job and got $400 or so a week on unemployment you are going to have a hard time. Survive, probably, hard time at it yes. You would want to go back to work to bring yourself up to the level you were at. The Burger King crowd that gets fired, laid off or whatever does not collect that maximum benefit. Only a percentage of what their gross salary was. And then you have to pay taxes on that either now or later.

They feel that there is a big crime wave going on in Spring Hill too. They've been out of the real world too long. They have no idea. They quote the police blotter like the bible. What do I see in the police blotter? Petty stuff. To them though its a crime wave.

Just old folks with nothing to do but comment on the negative.
Wonder when the last time was that they took a canoe down the weeki wachee or rented a pontoon to tour the Homasassa. Can you say NEVER?

I think I am going to move on to other things and avoid this place myself. Ive been here about 6 or so months and its always the bad news bears having a field day. You cant get through to these thick headed yankees. They always forget that they came here, they stayed here yet they hate it here. Strange but true.
They forget that natives were here long before they built Spring Hill and all the subdivisions for them. Now all they do is complain. Typical old farts.

See ya in the funny papers.

I've read this forum before and it's like abcd says.
If you don't agree with the party line you are branded as nasty and rude. Seems to me that
Joanne is simply a prude. She's hiding behind her curtains with her robe tied tight at the top.
This is not a discussion board, it is either a place where nutcases inhabit or those so wrapped up in themselves that they can't stand a differing opinion.

To get $629 a week in Mass unemployment benefits you would have had to earn $31.45 an hour.$1,258 a week or $65,416.00 a year. Yeah, that sounds average to me.

1. Weekly Benefits
Claimants receive a weekly benefit of approximately 50 percent of their average weekly wage, up to the maximum set by law. The current maximum benefit rate is $629 a week.
The duration of benefits – the maximum number of weeks you would be able to collect benefits – is determined by the total amount of your wages paid and the amount of your benefit rate.

The maximum number of weeks a claimant can collect full benefits is 30 weeks. Under Massachusetts law, regular benefits are capped at 26 weeks (instead of the maximum of 30 weeks) whenever there is a program of extended benefits. However, many individuals qualify for less than the maximum weeks of coverage. The maximum benefit credit amount is $18,870, which equals $629 a week for 30 weeks.

NJ Unemployment benefits:

The amount of unemployment benefits you may receive each week is your Weekly Benefit Rate (WBR). The amount will be 60% of the average weekly earnings during your base year period, up to a maximum of $584 (in 2009). The maximum amount may change each year.

That means to get $584 in benefits you would have to earn 817.60
a week.$42,515.20 a year.

Only Alambama and Louisana pay less than FL. Most states are paying around $400 a week. That is better or the same as some jobs.
If you keep getting extensions, where is the incentive to look for work?
In NJ their getting a max of $560 a week. You can live on that, and live quite well.
It is tough out there but are we creating more people who have become dependent on the govt. to support them.
Where is the money coming from???????

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Aries

Someone wants to go their own way today and they won't care whose feathers they ruffle in the process. It's a lunar eclipse at the Full Moon in Cancer, so let them get on with it. The last thing you should do now is to hang on to their coat-tails or do anything else that will make them feel restricted. Make it plain that you've got your own fish to fry, thank you very much. And try not to let it stop you enjoying yourself. Have a great night!
