Who was this boy to her? Any one know? They should have made her stay in jail and sleep on the floor.

What is wrong with this woman? Is this boy her son? I hope she gets put away and her cellmate makes her sleep on the floor while kicking the sh*t out of her on a daily basis.

Another young life damaged .. when he reaches adulthood and doesn't know how to function like a normal person - this woman should be responsible to pay for all of his counciling. She should also be labeled as a child offender and never be allowed around children unsupervised!

The story is pretty vague. Was she using him for sex? Did she know him before this happened? Was she baby sitting him and suddenly decided to run up a huge baby sitting bill?

Very vague. I'd have to ask how a boy between the ages of 14-17 could be kept prisoner by this woman for 3 years. Did she use a weapon?

I'm not huge guy, but at 15 years old there weren't many adult woman that I wouldn't have been able to fight back against unless they had a weapon.

Strange story.

I thought about that as well - there are plenty of "big" people in this world who get pushed around by "little" people because some people just cannot stand up for themselves.

You're right, that could be the case. The boy could be a very timid young man.

The story still has alot of holds though. As in any story like this you wonder how no chance for escape came up in 3 years of captivity in an average house.

Depends on the wood. A beating with a strip of Balsa wood and a beating with a 2x4 of Walnut would produce 2 completely different feelings. One would be laughable, the other, not so much.

My guess is the kid is making this up.... unless the walls of that bathroom are concrete, he could have escaped.

something very fishy here

SPRING HILL, FL -- Deputies arrested a woman Tuesday on charges of aggravated child abuse and false imprisonment. They say Tailing Gigliotti had been keeping a teenage relative locked in a bathroom since 2007.

Investigators say the 17-year-old male went to a neighbor's door asking for help. He had bruises and cuts on his left arm and shoulder, along with cuts and contusions about his head, arms and face.

When deputies arrived, the victim said that he lived with Gigliotti, a relative, who had been locking him in the bathroom daily since November 2007 and only allowed him out when she was home.

The victim said he had not slept in a regular bed for more than three years and was made to sleep on the floor in the hallway until November 2007, when Gigliotti confined him to sleeping in the bathroom.

The bathroom door was locked from the outside and the window barricaded with plywood so he could not escape.

The victim said that on Sunday, Gigliotti made him strip and tied his hands with packing tape. He said he was beaten with a piece of wood about three feet long and one inch square.

He said he was also beaten with a short section of water hose with metal and plastic ends. The beating caused numerous lacerations and contusions to the his head, back, buttocks, left shoulder, forearms and hands.

After the beating, the victim was kept nude and locked inside the bathroom without medical attention for his injuries while Gigliotti went to work.

The power to the bathroom had been turned off at the main panel, leaving the him in total darkness. On Monday, he managed to break open the door and go to the neighbor's house for help.

A search warrant was obtained for Gigliotti's residence and evidence linked to the crime was found. A warrant for Gigliotti was issued and she turned herself into the Hernando County Jail on Tuesday. Her bond was set at $15,000.

Gigliotti has obtained an attorney and has had nothing to say.

The victim is now in state custody. While being treated for his injuries, doctors discovered he had a broken bone in his right forearm and scars from past beatings on his body.

She seems like a real peach... I just can't believe she was given a bond of $15,000... what is up with these courts?

I thought I read that she tied him up. After a few wacks with a piece of lumber or a length of garden hose, you don't want to anger the person. And it said that he went into state custody...makes me think that she was his foster mother.
