Put those lame ducks out of misery

Legislators pushing for a lame duck constitutional amendment sound to me like pitiful criminals begging us to rewrite the law to stop them from their natural tendency to screw us before they slink out of office. Wouldn't it be better to have another constitutional convention and fix a whole host of problems? Or elect a better class of criminal?

Do you really think there is enough brain power in the legislative body to convene a new convention, much less fix any problems it may face?
