Just received one of these incredibly ridiculous and expensive $100 extortion tickets, a full month and 3 weeks after the alleged violation, indicating that perhaps I like many before me on this board may have more coming. I went to the village of Lakemoor website and see how this program is touted for its proposed "saftey" when actually most of the tickets issued are for right hand turns, NOT the head on tickets that would actually help to prevent accidents. Reason being is perhaps not very many people are being unsafe on the roadway and speeding through redlights. I obviously checked traffic no cars were coming and I continued on my way and the car behind me did the same. If It was truly in the name of safety as the village proclaims on their website THERE WOULD BE NO TURN ON RED SIGNS at this intersection. I will be fighting this ticket and also saying what I had just said to whoever presides over my case. If I get other tickets I will fight those as well. One should informed much sooner than 3 weeks. Bs scam to rip people off during some of the most trying times America and the people have known economically in its history. Shame on Lakemoor.

I go to their court tomorrow to fight a red light camera ticket tomorrow, I've learned to fight all of these tickets. First I'm going to ask if the cop who signed off on he ticket is present and if not ask to have the ticket dropped, if that doesn't work I will ask to see the video and explain that there was no traffic present when the supposed violation accured. If that doesn't work I will remind them that Lakemoor is in violation of the red light camera law as they are required by state law to post the location of all such cameras on the village web site - if they have I can't find it. Wish me luck.

who can i vote against to punish this outrage?
Everyone, please stop at that intersection and do not turn on red. Save the folks behind you from getting ticketed.
Is it illegal to put up a protest sign of some sort at that corner?

I avoid that intersection if at all possible, which means I also stay away from businesses in the area. I suggest no turning on red. This would be an easy solution if Lakemoor is really concerned with safety. Unfortunately, safety has never been the concern, only dollars.

I don't know why lakemoor touts safety on their website when their own police officer Gary Spoerry knowingly lets drunks go and lets the same person commit crimes in their town like aggravated battery with a weapon. Didn't this same officer look the other way at a gun incident at the Iron Bull? Lakemoor don't lie, you're all about the money and not about safety, don't lie to the people. I just read the wesite,
The mission of the Lakemoor Police Department is to provide the highest quality professional police services in partnership with our community. Our members are entrusted to consistently seek and find ways to affirmatively promote, preserve, and deliver a feeling of safety and security while providing service and problem resolution to all persons within the Village of Lakemoor. WHAT A TOTAL LIE
Video Editing Kickbacks

This RED LIGHT VIOLATION scam is just a huge SCAM for more legalized extortion.
If you do a search about the RED LIGHT VIOLATION scams, you'll see a lot of other towns and cities that have removed the cameras because they found that the videos were manipulated and edited.
Plus they have found that the camera companies received kickbacks from the towns law enforcement on how much they can push through.
I've worked with audio and video editing. Both can be edited to do whatever you want done. All they have to do is remove some of the video where the vehicles were at a full stop and it will show it moving slowly through the red light. SLICK, AREN'T THEY?
By the way, I have seen cops roll through the RED LIGHTS multiple times without coming to complete stops, but they are exempt from following laws.
Contest it with proof of what was discovered in other towns and cities, and why those cameras were removed, is a waste of time!
They will only send you a letter that states in big letters that you are LIABLE for the violation. And if it is not paid in 30 days the fine is doubled. ALL DECISIONS ARE FINAL. That's just more threats to legally steal. THAT'S EXTORTION!!!
So basically whenever you see the cameras at intersections, and you have the right to turn on red, don't do it. Wait for the the light turn green.
We all have to learn new thinking. View the camera's at these intersections as another way to say NO TURN ON RED.
You can't beat government legalized extortion, so don't fall for their scams.

I am hearing from people that their complaints are being blocked on this website! Seems to me it is time for a class action suit against Lakemoor! Where do we sign up?!?!
Pay to Who

Has anyone else noticed that they say you can pay your fine to a P.O. Box?
Or pay over the phone to an 877 number?
Or pay online to a website that anyone can design?
And pay to the Village of Lakemoor RLE Program.
RLE for RED LIGHT EXTORTION Program?
It also took almost two months before I received my ticket. Apparently it takes that long to do the video editing so they can continue to push through more edited violations for more revenue.
My first ticket sent to the wrong address.
Contested ticket by mail with correct address listed, and their final decision still stated that I am LIABLE sent to wrong address, shows that they didn't even review what I had written!
If you do an online search about the RED LIGHT VIOLATIONS scam you will find a lot of complaints posted.
Did you know that they found inmates were printing these kinds of tickets from prison and sending them out to make money?
Did you know that these tickets are viewed the same as parking tickets? And NOT moving violations?
They are Administrative Violations that apparently are in-house for collecting the scam revenue.
It's also going to cause more lost revenue for the Lakemoor businesses since people are avoiding Lakemoor now.
With their FINAL DECISION with it stating that I am LIABLE for the violation, if it is NOT paid within 30 days, the fine is doubled.
THAT'S EXTORTION!!! TOTAL SCAM!!!

After trying to fight this Lakemoor SCAM to collect RED LIGHT EXTORTION money, now I look to others that want to sue the Village of Lakemoor.
They manipulate the videos to collect more profits to line their corrupt pockets and kickback 40% to the RED LIGHT CAMERA companies to edit those videos.
I've filed my response twice with these crooks and included my correct address, since they couldn't mail it to the correct address, and this last notice that is now demanding $200 was STILL sent to the wrong address.
That tells me that they never even reviewed my previous LETTERS TO CONTEST.
This is a total SCAM and RIPOFF and people need to shut it down.
These crooks need to be prosecuted and jailed!
Can we now start sending our bills to them for around $5,000 per incident for all of us having to deal with their RED LIGHT EXTORTION SCAM?
I've been through way too much BS in my life to have to keep dealing with more corrupt government extortion scams!
Is there a CLASS ACTION SUIT being filed?

And if you look to the right of this page and read the LAKEMOOR NEWS you will see what we are dealing with here.

Gurnee has these cameras at most of their intersections, cry about that! I drive through the intersection of 12 and 120 every day for work and never got a ticket, even when turning. The big secret here is the word STOP! Right on red requires a complete stop before you turn. It's not hard! Make all the excuses you want, but you should have stopped and since you didn't you got a ticket. I hope you don't teach your kids to cry every time they break a rule and get punished! It is entertaining to read all these funny excuses though! They edit video! What a joke.

Oh thank you Mr. Sheeple for your enlightenment. I teach my kids to fight for what is right and to not just bend over and take whatever their government tries to give them. It's people like you who can see the forest thru the trees that have made this country into a taxing machine.

Just curious what the outcome was. I have to go next month to protest my ticket. I am 46 and have never even had so much as a parking ticket. I am gonna fight tooth & nail!!

Does anyone have the full text of this red light 12-O-03 code/ordinance? On the Village of Lakemoor website there's a "Village Ordinances and Codes" page, but it's "under development" of course.

I just talked to someone with the Red Light Photo Enforcement in Lakemoor. She said that they understand stopping past the white line, that is not the problem. They review every car going through the intersection and if you do not come to a COMPLETE stop, you will receive a ticket. You have to use the 3 second rule to not get a ticket.

They are gouging people for every penny they have. They should be ashamed of themselves. They claim it is for safety when it is really a revenue generating machine for them. I just got mine in the mail because I did not come to a complete stop before I turned. I will pay the crooks. However, I will never enter the village of Lakemoor again. Nor will i ever purchase or do business with any business commerce in the village . And I will tell everyone I know to not visit or do business with this village. This is the only way I can fight back against these corrupt villages and towns squeezing hard working people in a bad economy.

This is all they have:
**********
http://www.lakemoor.net/Red_Light_Program.sht...

Red Light Enforcement Program

In an effort to enhance safety at Lakemoor's most dangerous intersection, the Village Board approved the installation of an automated traffic enforcement system, also known as Red Light Cameras, for the intersection of Illinois Route 120 & U.S. Route 12. Specifically, Eastbound and Westbound Illinios Route 120 and Northbound US Rt. 12.

According to recent studies conducted by the U.S. Dept. of Transportation, Red Light Enforcement Programs can decrease red light violations up to 60%. Traffic accidents caused by red light runners are among the most serious, often resulting in severe injuries and fatalities. Studies have shown that approximately 1,000 people die and 176,000 people are injured annually in the United States because of drivers running red lights. There are Two Types of Red Light Violations:(1) Right turn on Red without coming to a complete stop and (2) Entering an intersection after the traffic signal has turned red.

A common misconception is that the cameras will be photographing everyone as they drive thru the community. In fact, Sensors placed in the pavement activate the camera only when a vehicle enters the intersection during the red light cycle. A total of three (3) photographs will be taken plus 8-10 seconds of digital video. The images include: the car entering the red light intersection, the car passing thru the intersection and finally, a close-up of the license plate. All three (3) photographs, plus a link to view the video footage on-line, will be provided to the vehicle's registered owner as part of the information included with the mailed violation. According to Illinois Law, it is illegal to photograph the faces of either drivers or passengers.

More detailed information on the Red Light Enforcement Program can be found at http://www.payonlineticket.com/faq.aspx . If you have any questions that are not answered in the FAQ document or need to speak to someone at the Red Light Enforcement Program vendor please call 877-262-3318.
