As I said in your last post concerning this, if your grandmother were addicted to drugs or alcohol you would get her the help she needed and this is just as serious. I do not condone the illegal gaming however you are not helping her by "enabling" her to continueing with her addiction to bingo, Here are a coupe of websites that may help you start getting her and you some help.

Games Considered Gambling

The definition of a game that is considered gambling is very strict and includes bingo, lottery and any game associated with casinos, such as slot machines, roulette wheels or video poker. In a 1999 opinion by the Tennessee attorney general, a fishing tournament in which contestants paid fees for a chance to win cash prizes was considered gambling. However, games where skill is more important than chance are legal, such as bowling, baseball, archery and golf. You can play poker if it is not being played for money, goods or services.

Criminal Charges

Any player caught gambling can be found guilty of gambling in Tennessee. Gambling is a Class C misdemeanor, which usually carries a fine of $1 to $50. A person who entices or aids others in gambling for economic benefit has committed a Class B misdemeanor. The fine for a Class B misdemeanor is $50 to $250. A person who finances, owns or supervises a gambling enterprise commits a Class E felony. This felony can hold a penalty of $10,000 or more. Any machines or materials used in connection with maintaining a gambling operation are subject to seizure and forfeiture.

I am not sure why my post would be considered funny as I was only attempting to show this person that an addiction to gambling legal or illegal can be treated. TOTALLY unrelated to the laws surrounding the legality of bingo or other enterprises. Personally I think Bingo or other gambling interests are a complete waste of time and money. However an addiction is an addiction and who ever has it needs help and the family dealing with it needs support. Hence the two sites I posted.

I don't know if your post is funny or not, mine may be also but gambling should not be readily available for anyone to partake of, you don't stick a bottle of liquor in the face of an alcoholic. just my opinion.

Spring city knows better! They are calling it a fund raiser every Saturday night! They are cheaters and liars! But it falls back on the police not doing their job! Dayton legion does not play bingo! Spring city needs to understand the TN LAWS and abide by them! Those that run that legion hall think they are so much better than anyone else! Someone's granny is addicted to ILLEGAL BINGO. If this were stopped in our county she would keep her azz at home and pay her own bills! Spring city is hurting people and they know it they do not care! Shame on you american legion shame shame! Make the police do their job! Stop crime in our county! That's what we pay you for! Gambling is against the law!

You people have no idea what the legion does to help people in Rhea County. You could not ask for better people to help out at the legion. The people that come to fun night do it because they enjoy being with friends and having fun. Not one member of the legion gets paid or gets anything for helping out. There are just too many people in Rhea County that likes to run their mouths and cause trouble for others. Maybe if you went to fun night you would see that it is "fun" and thats all.

That is correct Miranda, alcohol can be taxed and accounted for however winnings from Bingo cannot be I believe that is why it is illegal. Something to do with that anyway, someone else may be able to shed more light on exactly WHY it is illegal and alcohol is not. Beer is allowed here but I do believe that we are a "dry" county where liquor can not be sold, unless they did pass the mini bottle law for bars here, again not somthing i know alot about and someone else might. It is a double standard, as I think that is what you are getting at, but that is what this backwards town and county are like.

and I am not sure as to why this is considered clueless or spam or funny however i am sure whomever judged this as those things is apparently addicted to gambling but that is neither here nor there to me. BUT who ever judged this could probably gain some insight to their addiction from one of the websites i posted earlier for "Help" to check out. Regardless I am not clueless, nor is being addicted to anything a joke or funny Get a grip.

You help people in Rhea county? Someone's granny is addicted to bingo! And what you are doing is illegal! So you are telling me if I run a gambling establishment in Spring city and help others with the proceeds that this okay? Not! Are you crazy? You must be somebody who goes down there and promotes ILLEGAL activities in Rhea county! And if you want to help people there are LEGAL ways to help people in Rhea county. You are teaching our children that as long as you help people with "DIRTY" money it is okay,is that what your saying? Well your not to smart! The law says BINGO is illegal. And by the way it is profitable to you people who run bingo! The money is not accounted for no one knows how much you make! Nor is the money taxed! Do you fill out the proper tax forms for a non profit org.? NO you do not! Beleive me I know about the theft that goes on down there it was all over town last year! Was there not things stolen from the legion? haven't you had to change the locks several times because of the "GOOD PEOPLE" that help out down there? Are you not getting ready to have an illegal aution? You need to apply for a permit to have an auction! You are all crooked and try to pass it off that you help Rhea county. You do not, you people down there are helping yourselves! And I happen to know that just recently you were nasty to a few of the bingo players! Also there was a great lady who worked in the kitchen and now she is gone! Why was she made to leave? Was it the way she treated the people, with kindness and respect? Or was it because she didn't steal the food or the money? She seemed honest and I think she was! She was greatful when you bought something she cooked! She went out of her way to please everyone who attended! Where did she go? She was a great cook and treated people with respect. At the ed of the night many times she gave to people who could not afford the kind of food she fixed. Now she was a good person. Than that grouchy woman took over and the other small woman never a smile and never a thank you! That was the legion, you are money grabbing tax free law breaking veterans and you think you can get away with what you are doing! Your breaking the law veterans you may have served the USA but that makes you no better than anyone else! You are not allowed to get people addicted to bingo! BINGO is against the law! Close it down and help the county in LEGAL ways! I'm raising kids here and I teach them that building is corupt and to stay away from it!

Yeah "why" you are correct, post # 2 was deleted because it had the number of the TBI field office in Chattanooga in it. I could also post a number but it would probably disappear as well, the thing to do is contact the TBI in Chattanooga by dialing 411 and they can certainly guide you in the right direction. I feel it is not right to bring something to light here and then somebody who is guilty as sin start making fun of those who do not believe in gambling and know it is illegal.
