Why not the question- Do you believe Upchurch to be corrupt? Do you believe Upchurch is behind the law suit against the School Board and County Commission and Election commission? Do you believe Upchurch was behind the law suit against the School Board for suspending the Director? Do you believe Upchurch is power hungry and just wants to keep the county attorney postion to boost his political threat power (and his ego)? Will you vote for Upchurch as judge next time? I believe these would be interesting questions.

Howard Upchurch has done a lot for Bledsoe County. Nobody is perfect, but he is very intelligent and hardworking. If I ever get in trouble, he's the one I'd want on my side.

is that maybe because you might be afraid not to. one thing history has taught us. is if you get on his bad side you are in serious trouble. and not because he is so good. but because he is into everything and knows most everyone.

Amen Fed UP!- Jax, perhaps you have never had to have him for a lawyer, if you had you would know that he isn't as hard working as he may seem. I've heard of custody battles that lasted 5+ years all because of him postponing and delaying etc... Oh he's good if he ever actully gets t court.Couse he don't loose he wont loose, he has the courtsystem in his pocket. He's too busy trying to run the county and hobknob with the powerplayers to get the job done. My Lord he's the lawyer for everthing in Bledsoe County, HOW?? WHY?? Why do we allow it?

You are all clueless. I see a lot of jealosy and hearsay on this forum. Mr. Upchurch is a fantastic attorney. His legal mind far surpasses any of my current law professors or deans. I worked with Mr. Upchurch during college and he is great in the courtroom and in the office conducting legal research. He is well connected due to the level of respect he has earned from his colleagues in the legal profession. Those who hate him have lost to him. He isn't corrupt, his education and expertise allows him access to the system that others are not afforded. In retort of his work ethic, coming from first hand experience, he is extremely hardworking. He is overloaded because he is so good. Here is a little insight, part of being a lawyer is using the system to delay or settle cases. Very few cases make it to trial. That's just a fact. He is just like the rest of us, except he is extremely intelligent and a brilliant lawyer.

He's not my dad, but he is a friend. What is your definition of a "cracker"? So, because you were disatisfied with a small ammount of legal work, this lays claim to the attack of his character and career? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if I ever need representation by counsel I will look no further than Mr. Upchurch. "Medic" I have seen some of your previous posts on other topics. You belittle and mock the citizens of Bledsoe county and our "lack" of education. You have a lot of complaints about Bledsoe county as a whole and you're flirting with the notion of moving back West. Let me assure you that there is no border patrol, nor is there a fence. You are welcome to leave our small community anytime you wish. You are obviously above our meager existence.

well, I am not easily shocked anymore...for instance a "wolf in sheeps clothing" meaning a democrat posing as a republican gets voted sherrif. and barely passes the academy.why pass up the educated people who were running?I do not understand that. The county could have saved some money. What is with the cowboy hat?It is almost as big as his car.And as for crooked goes, how does someone get beat up in jail, and the abuser and his sidekick get charges dropped, just like that?

All I can speak upon is what I have witnessed first hand while being in court with Mr. Upchurch in Rhea County. I have seen Judge McKenzie act very harsh and critical of Mr. Upchurch on many many occasions. I always thought that he was the toughest judge that Mr. Upchurch had to encounter. I'm a Bledsonian who currently lives in Michigan while attending law school. Perhaps you have direct evidence as opposed to hearsay that I'm not privy to. In regard to my personal experience while in a court of law, Judge McKenzie cuts Mr. Upchurch no slack. If Mr. Upchurch obtains a dismissal or aquital, it's because of his litigation skills. If you will remember, Mr. Upchurch represented the Bledsoe County man you shot Judge McKenzie, in the divorce precedings leading up to the shooting.

Also, I don't believe Mr. Upchurch has a sister who is a lawyer. In fact, I'm almost certain.

Justin honey, I have read all of your posts. I have weighed your comments and I am very worried about you. I would love to speak to you in person but have decided to just answer you in the forum you have chosen. I worry that you are so young and impressionable that you have been lead astray by Howard's charm and charisma. It is so true that he is intelligent and powerful, but he is a person you should be very careful not to immulate. You hold him up as a god. He is a very mortal and flawed man. You need to listen to yourself and realize that you are in awe of him like a child, it is time to grow up and see with the eyes of an adult. It is time for Pikeville to open it's eyes as well. We are hostages to tradition and hipmotized by Proctor Upchurch's toeheaded little boy.
You are going to be a lawyer, fine, you will learn all the ins and outs of the game. Make it your "habit" to play by the rules and the law. You are a very smart and articulate young man don't fall for the smoke and mirriors they call law around here, take my advise and set up your practice far away from here at least for a while, until all the dirty doers die out.
No one is arguing with you that Howard is smart but you need to be smart enough to realize the truth when you see it. You have heard "keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer" Watch and learn while you elbow with the devil in court, but do not partake, he will turn on you someday and you can take that to the First National Bank!

Real woman--

Thank you for your compliments. You are correct that he is flawed, because we all are. I only have one God in my life, who I worship in church. This I do at Faith Baptist with Bro. Ashburn, when I'm visting my parents in Cold Springs. I want you to know that I'm a 26 year old man, who is married, owns a home, and ran a multi-million dollar commercial contruction company in Atlanta, overseeing the entire Georgia operation. I expand on this not to boast, but to affirm to you that I'm a man not a child. My thoughts and opinions are founded upon years of expierence of working with Mr. Upchurch. I'm speaking only of him as a professional not as a person. What he does in his personal life is absolutely zero of my concern. I am going to return to the area I love and practice law and raise my family in Bledsoe County. I will be ethical and just, that you can take to Citizen's Bank.
