The rural community of Gonzales was not given the same hearing process as was the presidence set by Judge Curtis in the case of the Lockwood placement or the Prunedale placement.

Neighbors still have not been notified by the county of his presence there.

His placement is causing "Interference of Economic Interest" for local businesses,(such as the very close children's summer day camp, wineries. and agribusiness. Not to mention, that property owners have and will suffer tremendous losses in property values and now have to disclose that a violent sex offender lives near if they plan to sell their property.

County emergency 911 response time to emergency calls is in serious question, as it takes on average 45 minutes to respond to a criminal or medical emergency. Fire response time is excellent,because the Gonzales Volunteer and Chualar Rural respond immediately.

The school bus lets kids off less than 1/2 mile from the home.

The Judge inferred that no property owner should feel threatened like the ones were before who agreed to rent to Lamb.

We feel threatened and he doesn't seem to give one once of thought to that, because he refused to hear any public comment.

The judge didn't see that the case of a person who has admitted to molesting 50+ kids warrants extraordinary circumstances. Or that a $350,000+ annual price tag for this scum bag at tax payers expense warrants extraordinary circumstances.

All Judge Curtis cares about is his pride. He got his feelings hurt when Kanalakis and county supervisors along with the majority of the residents did not agree with his placement in Prunedale so he imposed a gag order on top of removing the 30 day public comment period.

He obviously has no care for the feelings of Lamb's victims or the public. Lamb wants to go live with his mother who resides in a retirement community instead of in a hostile environment. Curtis doesn't seem to take his safety into consideration either. Lamb presented to him a win/win situation. He is going to end up in Arizona anyway so why not let him go? If Curtis thinks that a year here in Monterey County will help him, then he's crazy.

The Herald's note in Rant and Raves about people commenting that Lamb should live next door to Curtis was misguided. The point that was being made is that Curtis tried to place Lamb in less than affluent areas instead of in the tonier areas of the county. No attempt was made to place him in Pebble Beach or Carmel Valley even after Calcagno pointed out that the majority of offenders live either in North County or South County and only 6 in Dave Potter's district. It had nothing to do with Curtis having a liking for Lamb.
