He just became my neighbor.. If he admitted to molesting 50+, why is he released from a holding institution?

We had no due process, no notice, no hearings like the other communities. There are kids out here, dropped off by the bus who wait at home until their parents come home from work.

Will the County adjust my property taxes? I will not be able to sell or rent my home as long as he is around. My property value has gone down and sleep at night will be tough.

I have worked with kids my entire adult life and have worked to provide positive, healthy, safe activity to participate in. Today I am very worried for my neighbors and their most precious assets, their kids.

How will the State and County that can't control, drugs, gang violence and crime keep us safe way out here? They can't even respond to an emergency in a timely matter.

This is not right. After all the crimes he has done., he may not have his manhood, but he has is brain ! His brain is still sick. He is deranged, sick, and should be locked up, and NOT given a half a million dollar home to live in. Free food, free drivers, free security, etc, etc,.. This is just not right. Is he being rewarded with this new life for his castration? The neighbors should have been allowed to vote for this intrusion in their neighborhood and town. This is unbelievable.

The Monterey County Sheriff Mike Kanalakis is suppose to send deputies out to the neighbors and inform them that a sexually violent predator is living in the neighborhood. This property is only a few miles from the school at Las Palmas, very close to the Wild Things zoo where kids often go on field trips and I continue to believe that Judge Curtis treated the public and the media rather poorly in his last appearance on this matter. I don't care how tough his position is that is why he gets the robe. Jesus most Monterra lots are going to be bank owned and they are not near a school, stick him on a trailer there. Who are the people getting the big payday from the State? Seriously you have to have something mentally wrong with you to accept a sex offender trailer right next to your house. The pervert lives in the trailer and the family lives in the house.

The law puts everybody in a very difficult position.

Perhaps the best thing to do is life in prison with no parole for these crimes. Wherever he goes, some one's children will be in peril. The judge has no choice per today's law in allowing him to live in some community in Monterey County.

Couple of points.
Stop bitching about the placement and release from prison. ITS the law that we all voted for. We could rally support State wide and allow released people to be allowed to move, like with his mother. Also, this stupid 2000ft Jessica law leaves the county with NO ohter option but to put him in a rural community. Id rather have him live next door to me with 24 hr guards. I know my kids are safe!! Im more worried about that coach, that teacher, that uncle..that person I DONT know about. Knowing where Mr. Lamb lives should be somewhat comforting to us.. However, that being said, He is no danger to anyone. 24 hr security..you think hes gonna sneak out, snatch a kid?? he wasnt accused of that , he knew his victims, he was NOT a kidnapper. the home value issue is very relevant and unfortunate, but lets stop complaining and change the freakin law.
1. released prisoners should not be REQUIRED to be put back in thier counties
2. Repeal Jessicas Law, It does nothing to protect anyone, as in this case..he is still close to kids
3. If life in prison is warranted, then lets change the law
4. I think Megans law is unfair also..why not put that bank robber on their who lives next to me, or the gang banger who was in prison for ATT. murder, or how about the guy who murdered someone and got out after 25 years, or the Crack head who spent 10 years for giving crack to KIDS or the auto thief. where does this end!!

Last I checked the US Constitution allows for freedom of speech. That's the law. I agree with most of what you have said and I plan on acting within the law to change the law. My actions will speak louder than words and so will those in my neighborhood. You are correct, the laws need to change and judges need to weigh their descisions more carefully.

He gets to live the next year in a 2000 sf house worth $500K at taxpayer expense? WTF.

Jessica's Law, and Megan's Law, and most of these eponymous laws passed as knee-jerk reactions to horrific crimes are moronic. Unfortunately, they will never be repealed. What politician will risk the accusation that he is soft on child molesters?

It's funny how people react. Gangs are killing people on the streets of Salinas almost every week. But what has everyone in a panic is a castrated sex offender who has gone through treatment. Lamb has been on every TV screen and newspaper in the area, everyone knows who he is, so it's easy to keep an eye on him. He's much less of a threat than other criminals who have "served their time" and been released to re-join gangs or sell more drugs or whatever. Apparently the label "sex offender" generates more fear than "gang member," "drug addict," or even "murderer."
