Politics as usual. Why would anyone subject their child to that BS? New pres. sos different day. I wish i'd never signed my son up. Heard it was the best league around, but the adults in charge destroy it while saying "we're in it for the kids" BS! They're in it for their own kids only... All of them.

There is some funny stuff on here. Yes, politic is the main force driving Southern Little League.
Coaches are made up of weekend warriors and drunks coupled with drug addicts. Some still go around blaming coaches that have made it to the Little League World Series several years ago. Then they get a turn to coach and don't even win district.

Yep, that's Southern Little League. Alot of OHS lovin there. They get what they deserve.

The league has been on a downward trend for about the last 8-9 years. It really started a death spiral down when Webb took over as president and has not turned the corner yet.

WWF

They might as well partner up with the WWF, with coaches screaming at one another threatening to fight, parents hitting coaches and nothing being done about it, umpires tossing fans, can not make this shit up. And better than most WWF story lines, the only thing worse than the actions at the park this year is the level of play.

Actually Logan Burnett hit the longest home run. It was measured at 304 feet.

The league is destroying itself and running kids who dont have the means for travel ball away from baseball. Sad thing is, the parents who are ate up with making there kids an all star and running the league are actually tearing the league apart. Kids need practice and fundamental work everyday if they are going to improve... only maybe 25 percent of these kids will play on a team after little league ,then only maybe 10 percent will play varsity High school baseball, and only 3 percent will move on to post high school baseball....this culture of kids playing more games and getting less practice is actually hurting kids more than helping... I know how important game experience is but these kids skills will not develop and they will not improve as players without putting the work in to get better.....So parents save some of your money, get some of your family time back and allow your kids to practice more to truly improve...you could easily cut your travel ball schedule in half and practice more and put the odds of your kid being a better player on your kids side. Wait I know, the smarter than I am coaches and parents out there are rolling there eyes right know...someday you will say I told ya so!:)
To bad your words of advise will go unheeded. You are correct travel ball during the season is ruining league play. Cannot practice on the weekend because Tommy is playing travel ball somewhere. Cannot pitch Tommy because he pitched to much in travel ball over the weekend, or Tommy is going to pitch this weekend. Then just forget trying to coach the little brats because their daddy played Little League back in the day. Coaches who played in college are laughed at by 11 year old brats because daddy tells them they do not have to listen to the coaches. Best thing that can happen is not draft kids playing travel ball. And do not get me started about the kids that play at SLL, Cal Ripken and travel ball. End the end they are not much better than other kids.

I am not a baseball expert just a mom, and even I can see how the dads of some of these children are the ones who are not just destroying southern but east Daviess County as well. These men on the board care nothing about the children or the sport, just their own child. They sign up to coach only so their mediocre child can pitch and then can't even fulfill the job or their child's spot on the team because they have travel ball too. Kids just like adults will stop doing what isn't fun. I have said if you want to see boys cry, attend a minor or major game. I have watched the coach and assistant's child drag their bats while crying to the dug out after striking out. What kind of adults are these boys going to be? They haven't been taught commitment or dignity. It's extremely sad.

Didn't the Braves only win 6 games? If so, and if they have 3 12yr old Allstars, then that doesn't say much for their coaches.
