I do agree with sign issue. NYS goes nuts with signage, and we have signs every two feet.

Many states, particularly out west, have concluded that an over abundance of signs is a blight on the landscape, and are cutting back to only essential traffic indicators - and prohibiting advertising, highway maintained by and other superfluous signs.

Look at Pittsford with reflective Slow Down on every sign in the town (nobody does), or Henrietta with signs everywhere.

We don't need cop memorial signs. What's next, firefighters, then DPW guys and town clerks.

What the state should do is make memorial signs for all the innocent people that the police had killed and then were subsequently cleared of any wrong doing by their unions, their fellow cops and local judicial system.

There would be so many signs that they would have to significantly increase the taxes to put them up.

If the public actually saw how many innocent people the police kill every year, they might stop treating them like heroes and start holding them accountable for murder.

It's such a freakin' joy to drive down Clover Street and see the makeshift tributes to our fallen drunks, and motorcyclists that can't stay in lane. I agree, they serve no purpose and it is demeaning.

People love feel good stuff, however, so they will continue to go up. One family does it, so another must immediately emulate it.

Good for the state. You know this would get completely out of hand, signs would be ornate, expensive and paid for by us. Only problem is, we don't get to decide.

That would be sign clutter. They would be making signs around the clock.

What we need is more "Take Back the Night" vigils. They seem to work.

If a stupid female trooper died on a highway while texting her boyfriend, when texting is against the law, and she she was putting all of the general public's lives in danger,

WHY SHOULD SHE HAVE A MEMORIAL ALONG SIDE THE HIGHWAY???

I'd be more into allowing memorials for all people who died because of drunk driving, so that all the stupid white can realize how many people have died because of their favorite pass time.

They say "No" for their (state) property but you obviously can put them on county or city or town property.

If these cops and or cop loving groups care about the dead cops soo much, then they should buy property near the road and put the sign on their own property.

I cops are allowed this then they need to be held at a very higher standard, and not out of jail and walking free like Rahn, Pignato, and Joseph, and those city cops who were caught lying about the guy running a stop sign.

or the MC sheriff's deputy busted for DWI, or troopers covering for other trooper's criminal behavior. Or the feds planting evidence to juice up their conviction rate for promotion.

Here is a guy who was so fed up with the crappy job the cops did with his robbery complaint, that he went to the jail with a baseball bat do bash some cop skulls.
