Lets think about that statement for a second, no electric, no type of heating fuel and an abandoned warehouse. I wonder why the fire inspector might think it to be suspicious? Do these people think before they open their mouth?

Wouldn't it be more "Obvious" then "Suspicious"?
Plus, whats the actual address? How owns it? Are the taxes current? Is their insurance on it?
You are right on target.

If it is owned by some wealthy person in public office ... this will be the last you hear of it.

If it is owned by a poor minority ... there will be public humiliation and a pat on the back for our public servents who wanna reassure the taxpayers that they are earning thier benifits and retirement.

I heard the arsonist was living in the vacant place and was in custody.

Or, who ever owned the building was tired of paying taxes to the city and couldn't afford to tear in down.
If you burn it, you get the insurance and no more taxes.
and then you blame it on some crack smoking trespassers.

Yes but the owner could be charged with insurance fraud if they were the arsonist.
