Kinda does bother me. They also troll computer/internet data. Who is watching the watchers? The oversight seems to be lax. The broad dragnet seems like it could be abused far too easily, just as easily as Snowden could blow the whistle on it. The IRS leaked info to certain groups, so they in turn could harass the people who's information was leaked. People not even suspected of a crime are being monitored. Seems like it violates the Constitution.

Recent polls suggest that more than 50% of Americans are not troubled that the govt amasses this type of metadata - and are persuaded that the government needs this flexibility to fight terrorism.

Others suggest that a mistrust of government is emblematic of an erosion of common values and faith in national unity.

I would have to wonder how and what was asked in that poll. As far as the goberment tapping my phones I don' care as I worked for them and had TSSC for appox 35 years and they would "listen" in on any and all calls whenever they wanted. I have nothing to hide, but I don't like the idea that they can crap on the constitution at will and the lefty loons are doing it more and more everyday unchecked. All of their snooping did nothing to stop the Boston bombing, Sandy Hook, Fort Hood murders, and just about all other crime committed by loons, why? If someone wants to have a conversation without being spied on all they have to do is arrange a time and place where nobody will be able to set up in time.

Hey pigpen911, was it the lefty loons who passed and fully supported the "Patriot Act"? Didn't think so. Just saying!
What Obama and his team of thugs are doing to the "Patroit Act" is about the same as what Obama and Holder did with F&F compared to "Wide Receiver". All of the left screamed and whined about the P.A. and W.R. while at the same time said NOTHING about what this crew of thugs has done which is 1000 times worst than anything Bush and his idiots put into place. And to answer your question,YES the dems voted to pass the P.A. in vast numbers along with the republican. What was your point again?

My point is that BOTH parties are guitly of abusing their power and going against the consititution.

When you say that you have nothing to hide, and you can tolerate this breach of the constitution ... you forget how the government works!!!

What if your neighbor who doesn't know how to mind his own business works for the local government ... they use or manipulate any available data to screw with your life.

It happens all the time. some local politican doesn't like someone ... and they spend time and gov resources to screw with them.
Our governement doesn't follow it's own rules, so good luck getting that nosey neighbor off your back for abusing thier position.

Obama is all for taking Bush's Patriot Act a step further ... what happens when the next corrupt president wants to take it even further.
You will all have RFID chips, and invisible fences that only let you go home and to work to pay off our HUGH debt!!!

TO PROTECT OURSELVES, WE SHOULD NOT TOLERATE A SINGLE INFRINGEMENT ON THE CONSTITUTION!!!!

I'm all for stopping these POS in Washington,Albany and the rest of the country. All of them have craped all over our rights every chance they get and the American sheepel either are too stupid or just don't care to do anything to protect our rights. They should start at the White House and work their way down to clean these anti-Americans out of government ASAP. As much as I hate to say it, but the crap is about to hit the fan and it won't be pretty.

The government needed to collect the files and personal info on your computers into centralized locations. Cloud Storage and On-Line Services were just honeypots to bait you. Unfettered government access to your information was the goal all along.

Google doubles down as the government's internet censorship bureau. The day will come when DropBox indexes every file on your computer.
