This aggravates me a lot too. We live near a stretch of West Henrietta Rd., where it turns into a two lane road around Rush. Cars speed like crazy, going a good 80 miles an hour sometimes. We've complained before for the town to put in a traffic signal at an intersections or to do something to slow people down. Nothing happened as a result. Accidents keep happening (we had a bad one a couple years ago).
Now days, we have our camcorder ready, just in case we see people starting a drag race, so we can record it, and prove that it is a dangerous spot. For anyone who lives in that area in this article, I suggest you do the same. Its the only way to get the attention of the DOT/Town to do something.

It's sad (and also disgusting) but I think a certain number of people have to actually die on a strip of road before they will do anything about it.

They have no evidence? What about the people who live there and hear it all the time? You think they are dreaming or something? Get out there and GET the evidence.

It is very sad to hear of an accident that bad, but you can't drink and drive no matter what kind of road it is.

Look around when you go buy your next house. If it looks like people are driving like idiots then don't buy that house. They will continue to drive like idiots after you purchase it.

In this case, they would have had to be looking around at 2-3am to find this out. I agree with other comments that if all the neighbors are saying the same thing, maybe the chief should pay more attention rather than basically say they are all nuts! Channel 10, why don't you have a camera man out there taping cars as they speed by at that hour of the night. Maybe then he'll pay attention

Every time there is a crash all the neighbors go on TV concerned. Nothing will change. Change will only come if people want to slow down on their own. The police can't be everywhere at once nor can the Mickey Mouse media in this town. I do agree that people need to realize how busy the street is before they buy a home. That area has always been a race track and always will be.

Neighbors should also be on the look out for some badge and uniform wearing PUNKS GPD, that physically abused a women last night in the parking lot on Chili Avenue next to gas station (Sunoco) at about 9:30PM. These young punks with the arrogant attitude will pay dearly for the injuries they caused. And GATES AUTOMOTIVE is a BIG RIPOFF @$100.00 for a tow....I got AAA! PUNKS. What goes around comes around. I hope I live to see the day their families and loved ones recieve the SAME treatment they dished out!! KARMA, the laws of nature OR payback it is indeed a B*tch!
But they don't know about the drag racing.....yeah RIGHT !

This accident did not happen on Chili Ave. It happened on Spencerport Rd. You need to start a separate topic in here about how a group of hoodlums were roughed up on Chili Ave. It has nothing to do with the Spencerport Rd crash. Think before you ramble off topic.

You got the wrong info...the was NO group of hoodlums roughed up on Chili ave. A grown woman was PHYSICALLY ABUSE by the GATE HATES COPS..young punks with badges and uniforms who have no respect for a certain population of people. GATES pigs should be out finding drunk drivers, pedophile and REAL CRIMINALS instead of abusing their power.

Caprice - you have it wrong. This is not a story about the supposedly abuse of some woman by GPD. This is a story about fiery car crash.

Then i suggest you post a topic on that. You could even post a poll to see peoples opinions on the Gates PD. I still see no relation to a bunch of drunken teens on Spencerport Rd crashing their car and the inexperience you say there is within the Gates PD. Chili Ave is nowhere around where this happened. I'm not sure what population you say they don't like. In my experience the type of people they don't like are criminals. Even if the Gates PD was perfect this crash could still have happened. The police can't be everywhere at every time. If more of their resources are being tied up in the Chili Ave area then they may need to hire more people to help cover the so called North Gates area.

GATES POLICE HAVE FOUR DISTRICTS THERE ARE 16 POLICE OFFICERS FOR 3 SHIFT EACH OFFICER HANDLES THOSE DISTRICT BUT YOU ALL MUST UNDERSTAND THERE ARE ALSO 2 SGT FOR ALL FOUR DISTRICTS EVERY TIME AN OFFICER GETS A CALL THEY HAVE TO STOP THE RADAR TO ANSWER A CALL BECAUSE SOME IDIOT IS EITHER BEATING HIS OLD LADY FOR SOME DUMB SCHMUCK IS SHOP LIFTING AT WEGMANS OR SOME IDIOT IS ON HIS CELL PHONE AND CRASHED INTO A TELEPHONE POLE.OR THEY GET A MEDICAL CALL.SO IF PEOPLE HERE ACT LIKE ADULTS INSTEAD OF ACTING LIKE A CHILD THE POLICE CAN GET THIS STOP.BUT THE GATES TOWN COURTS NEED TO RAISE THERE COURT FEE FROM $75.00 TO $200.00 PLUS THE AMOUNT OF THE FINE WHICH SHOULD ALSO BE RAISED FROM$250.00 TO $1,00.00 IF YOU CANT PAY THE FINE YOU LOOSE YOUR LICENSE.AMD YOU STAY IN JAIL UNTILL YOU CAN PAY THE FINE

That is just sad; I hope for your sake you never have a friend or family member make a mistake like these boys did with a person who thinks like you nearby unwilling to help. I do not condone drunk driving however, I praise the people who pulled these young men out of the vehicle in an attemt to save them. I did not know either of these young men but I do know many of Anthony's friends and family and my heart and thoughts go out to all of them. May you find comfort in knowing he is in a better place watching over you all.
