<quoted text>How to make a bad situation even worse. Leave it to our Mayor Warren to make the wrong decision. A better choice would be to increase RPD presence in the area. If she is going to waste money, at least protect the taxpayers. Unless they bulldoze a 2 mile circle and start over, Charlotte will always be a dump.

Businesses should not fear people! If they do, then they are just as racist as you! If I were a business owner, I would welcome all the housing in the area! You suburban conservatives need to think outside of your stupid shell!

Oh shut up! Seriously, LOW INCOME?! Is that what you think of people who are not like you? Typical jew. Get out of your ignorant stagnant racist mind for a change. I am glad I don't dwell in the burbs like you and your crew. I'd be stuck with ignorant neighbors like you all. You all are living proof that suburban racist do exist! Grow the hell up!

Keep their neighborhood nice???
Charlotte is a shit hole. It's nothing more than an extension of the Dewey/Stone ghetto. A gas station tiolet is safer to swim in.....

There is already "low income" housing in Charlotte. Probably 10 times as much as what is being proposed....nice try.

Correction on your statement: I'd be stuck with ignorant neighbors like you all -- should read -- I'd be stuck with ignorant neighbors like you all, but only more violent and, in some cases, homicidal.
Just keeping the record straight. Likely you would bail, if that were an option. I love my ignorant 'burb neighbors, they're harmless and don't burglarize my house. And they have a hair trigger for calling the Sheriff, but that's OK too.

Birds of a feather do flock together. Keep believing that. Home burglaries happen more in the burbs. I rest my case....ignorant. Then again, earlier you told me your poop literally doesn't stink.

I thought you loved windows 8 and 8.1? I hate it. Any idea how long before the new update comes out?

Went back to Win98 on my home machine, and will instruct our sys admin at the office to reinstall Win98 on all our machines. That should send a message to Microsoft. Plus, no viruses.

For the most part I have gone back to using my six year old computer. Seldom turn on the new one with garbage window 8.1
Windows 8 is the most annoying piece of crap and freezes up all the time.

I am sure the city will dictate how many units have to be "low cost" for this project to go forward. Do they have a set percentage?
Also how many kids re you allowed to have in a small one bedroom apartment?
Sorry but I see the low cost units as a real turn off for potential buyers.

I hope the new high rise will ban any Pit Bulls, Rotties and Molosser breeds for the residents, we dont need any walking canine sharks near the beach full of kids and elderly, their favorite prey.

The city MUST show us the marketing research showing the BIG demand for is project, both for the residential and the retail portions.

The city WILL tell us why a Michigan developer was chosen over a local one, putting aside the BS reason of "size of the project."

Affordable housing (if this is proposed) will kill this building. No one wants to spend good money to live anywhere near a low-income housing project.

The ferry terminal is a failure Does the city really believe adding more retail space will have any possibility of success? Other than a convenience store, coffee shop and a seasonal trinkets & trash shop, what kind of retail would even WANT to take a risk there?

Show us the proposal lovely when you are done with rehab.

To attract visitors, you would need a Mall of America (maybe in miniature) with high end anchor stores (like Nordstroms, Neiman-Marcus) mixed with higher end small retailers.

You're right, more crappy novelty stores, smoke shops, Sunglass Huts and the like will not drive shoppers (foreign and domestic) to Charlotte. And the high end stores wouldn't come here anyway, even in a better location.

Section 8 scum. Lets wreck Charlotte Beach. Soon they rename the Beach Martin Luther King Beach and Pier. This will no longer be a desirable place to live but another Liberty Pole in the making.

There seems to be a difference of interpretation as to what is meant by the proposed project details. The Mayor and channel 10 Reporters understand the project to include "low income" unites. The projects says mixed income unites and that is what Rachel Barnhart understands that or may not include low income unites. This also could be spin. Let's hope the City isn't trying to pull a fast one on the residents of Charlotte.
