While I do commend the new mayor for trying to bring a new project to our city I agree with Bob Matthew's when he talked about this issue on his show the other night.
While the arts has it's place in our community , would it not make more sense to build a brand new 12000 seat indoor arena. The BCA was renovated about 15 years ago however the building is closing in on being 60 years old. A new state of the art facility would simply serve MANY more people in our community than a 2500 seat performing arts center.
If the RBTL and its president want this so bad let them pony up the cash to build it.!!

No more arenas at taxpayer's expense. Stop it!

Dave....the two10,000+ outdoor venues rarely, if ever, fill to capacity. Outside of the occasion when a super star athlete(s) are on the field. What would be the point of building another venue full of empty seats????
If the Eastman Theater could pay, for the most part, their expansion and renovation. Why can't RBTL? Or at least make a substantial contribution toward a PAC.

She has been quoted as saying to Cuomo, "Gibs meez da moniez"
Arnie and his band of fake hairs can put their own money into the project.
If the use taxpayer funds, then the shows should be free to the taxpayers.

How about promoting more events ar the some of the places we alredy have & dont use much in the city.
How about utilizing Charlotte Beach, more events at Genesee Valley Park, Maplewood.
Start using some of the places we already have.
I went to an outstandingly fun consert at the Highland Bowl where we could sit on the lawn.
The atmosphere was really nice. They need to have more events there.
Not to mention - nobody wants to go ''downtown''- not even during the day anymore with all the murder.
How does Warren not see this???
Also, they built the ''new'' midtown for Windstream & I heard they went bankrupt? Anybody know?

Arnie kept mentioning "education" give back from this theater recently on WXXI but never mentioned how much or what was allocated for education. He wants $100 Million for a new theater... that amount could help education quite a bit.The guy is so full of it.
He wants the state to pay for it.. Hey Arnie!! Where THAT money coming from, pal? Sure, you nitwit. The education fund maybe??!!
Good luck with that. You goof.
