Those who have jobs at FYE care about FYE. Our prices really aren't that much higher than anywhere else. And now that we're closing, the only place to buy CDs or DVDs in town is Wal-mart. Good luck finding what you want there... and it's all edited. Having political arguments on here is silly.

FDR was accused of being a socialist as well, and he not only got us out of the Depression he was elected THREE TIMES.
So go flush your Republican scare tactics (and your Fox News network) down the toilet where they belong. We are sick of listening to you.
Wasn't he elected 4 times?

Um, actually no, there are other places in town we can get CDs and DVDs. Other than free on the internet...

What? Did I just say that??

Well boo-hoo.

While I do sympathize with employees who will be out jobs, and hope they can find other employment quickly, I have no sympathy for fye.

Good riddance! Don't let the door hit you on your way out of the mall.

i work at fye also and yes the prices are more expensive on some items but we do price match plus we have alot of the older movies which is why people come to us and we care about our jobs and make people want to come back because were not basty like employees at best buy or target, who hate their job and hate being their, so whats the big deal if ur in the area and u wanna go their and pick up something for the same price at best buy and use your discount card to get it even cheaper than best buy and target?

I find it interesting when people moan and complain about the price of CDs or DVDs at retailers. To be honest, FYE is no more or less expensive than most other places, even Itunes. Especially if you look at the $9.99 stores, or you buy used.

As for getting music free online, yes its available, but under NO CIRCUMSTANCES is it ethical. Plain and simply it is stealing, and I cannot believe that so many people deny this fact.

haha, once I went in and wanted to buy Paranormal but they didn't have it in blu-ray. I said "I didn't think that was even out yet." They told me it wasn't out in blu-ray yet and that they only had it now because "someone else broke rule." I went to BB to rent it, but they told me "it's not out yet." I said "oh, fye had it just not in blu-ray." They were on the phone within seconds, I'm sure to their management. funny.... good luck FYE employees.

MHO thats true. Street dates are strict, with stiff fines. BUT if another retailer, especially if you're a mall store and another store in the mall breaks the street date, you are legally able to sell the item.

You can EASILY find CDs and DVDs for lower prices than FYE. Especially CDs. Just don't go to Borders.
You are right about FYE. I've been waiting for the last 4 years for certain tv dvds to be reduced- or at least on sale- but it never happened. I got tired of waiting and got the same ones from Best Buy. Because Best Buy at least has decent sales.

FYE makes most of their money buying shoplifted merchandise from walmart very cheap and reselling it high. Most of the used material in their stores is hot.

I wish that many of them close, like Sears/K-mart, Macy's, and Wegmans.
Seriously..wish Wegmans was closed..are you friggin crazy..what you want Apples to re-open or something...move next to a piggly wiggly or WinDixie as your only grocery store..then decide if you wish Wegmans was closed..crazy talk..

Wegmans is the best store on Earth. Period.

It seems that most everyone has missed the point; Music stolen or bought via the Internet has KILLED many a record store, FYE is certainly no exception. Our FYE closed almost two years ago and it was a slammin' store with plenty of selections and very affordable new releases (and other) and promotional items----all for browsing in a 1920s former Packard Auto dealership building--Nice.

I use to love FYE for their used CDs and DVDs back in the day. The one in Phillipsburg Mall, NJ closed back in 2010-2011 I think.. don't remember. Our local Blockbuster closed in early 2012. So yeah, I remember buying anime DVDs, and I couldn't believe Japanese Anime box sets where selling over $40-50.00 per season. Also 4-5 per DVD for $20+ was like crazy!!! I am glad I switched to itunes. Plus, I hate having scratched Discs. I still have some old ones I bought from FYE to keep as a memory. Also, Blu-Ray Discs are OVER-PRICED rip-of! But I get most of my stuff from Apple itunes now.

I am not surprised. Digital is the future. I hope to get Apple TV soon. Ready to move on!
