Could it be he is a career criminal? Could it be he was recognized as such? Could it be he has outstanding warrants in Florida? Could it be he is just mentally inferior?
No. I doubt the cop knew who he was if he has been in jail for years, and I doubt he has the car registered in his name. If it was any of what you said, they would have stated that from the beginning, but they didn't. They didn't disclose what the traffic stop was for, even if there was a true reason for the traffic stop.

And as for "a career criminal"?? really? they only told us about 3 arrests for a crime, does 3 crimes in you late 30's make it a career?

Lovely Warren said that her administration will "...hold (the trigger pulling persons) accountable to the fullest extent of the law." HER ADMINISTRATION?? That's the job of the City Prosecutor, not her office. Five cops have been shot in six years and all she can say is that her office will hold the trigger pulling accountable. Why aren't you, Mayor Warren, protecting this city? It's your people who are the trigger pulling people.
The republican county da gave him a deal and let him walk, and they will do the same think again if not for him they will for others. Lovely has nothing to do with it.

In the generic sense meaning GUN. Typical asinine post about the correct type of weapon rather than the fact that a Police Officer was shot and killed while not having a gun in his hands. You're probably good at figuring out how many angels can dance on the head of a pin too.

Not to bust your bubble, his arrest record goes back over many years (25+) in NY and Fla. It includes Armed robbery, assault, thief, B&E, assault on a police officer just to name a few, so to answer your question, YES he is a career criminal. BTW: some of the news reports did have it in their stories.

They're grasping at straws. As usual, one of theirs killed someone... this time a police officer. To them it's a walk in the park, to the rest of society it's an abomination. Hope they get it, sooner than later. We're running out of prison space.

Let's face reality. Blacks have hammered this city on crime. Our stats are nuts, compared to other cities our size. Even much larger metros are shaking their heads.
Prayers to the family - but a reality check here.
No offense to the RPD and the difficult job they have, but Cimminelli was wrong on news saying they've been protecting this city.
Check our numbers for murder, attempted murders.
They occur daily - almost every day with no sign of decreasing!!!
Is it going to take a police officer's heath to get the RPD to wake up and see we shouldnt have a crime rate this big???
Everbody sees this out of control daily crime but the city officials
When are they gonna get tougher and fix the problem?

This may finally do it, and it is well overdue. Cimminelli, so far, has been a talking head. Same with the Mayor. We'll see if thing change. We can only hope.

All this is BS.
Brothers in blue are all effect mourning the brother, shake a cops hands give them a hug??
Flags half mass, an Irod Cop on the radio saying how he was soo effected by the loss.

Give me a brake all these cops are grandstanding, try to get all of us to say your all sooo brave you soo strong, you do such a great service to the community, let us all pat you on the back for the job you do.

To prove all these cop are just grandstanding for themselves, ask them this:
is this the only cop that died in the area in the past few years???
why do you only doo this much mourning when its a cop killed by getting shot in the head??
do you not mourn when a brother in blue dies at home with a heart attack?
how about the brother in blue that got shot by his father another blue in blue, why weren't the flags lowered then? why didn't all the area cops need a hug then???

What a ridiculous and inflammatory statement. This officer didn't die of natural causes, he was murdered by a felon. He died serving the community at the hands of a career criminal. You should rethink this convoluted and downright nasty comment.

So are you saying that a brother only mourns if his brother is murdered?
Yes or no, cause many brothers have died in the area in the past few years.
Do you only moourn if your brother is murdered?

My mother always said "Never argue with a crazy person." She was very wise, and I decided to follow her sage advice. Your questions aren't worth debating. They're designed to be inflammatory, and you really don't want an answer. It's more of a statement. And not a very good one.

I've decided to rise above the vulgarity of your sheer ignorance. Take a hike.

these other cops that are now doing all this grandstanding are the sick crazy people, that are taking advantage of the situation to act like they are sooo great and doo such a dangerous job.

if they were really effected as much as they say then how come the the fund raiser aint going so well? You'd think if all 700 city cops gave only $1,000. the fund should be at $700,000. by now. And with all these other cops from all over the county and coutry that claim to be soooooo effected by the loss of a brother then why is the fund at soo little right now???? ANd how come they don't tell us how much life insurance the family will be getting?

You can look at it a different way Sid, think how much worst the city would be if the RPD didn't TRY to keep the thugs in check. If the PD tries to get tougher than there would be people like McFatman, Warren, Sharpton, Jackson, Holder protesting, suing and bringing charges against them.

What does "get tougher" mean? Harass blacks?
They just need to do their job.
Their job isn't to call blacks thugs and "keep them in check'.
Is keeping them in check mean how they arrested black kids waiting for a bus, beat a black amputee in a wheelchair, punched a black pregnant woman in the head, or arresting a white city woman for video taping them illegally stopping and searching a black man?
Their job is come when call and solve crime, make arrests, do investigations, arrest real criminals, serving all people of the city, protect all people of the city.
And believe it or not a person that did his time and is free living in the city should be treated just as everyone else unless and until he does something else illegal.
