Must be hard to go to Mass, give into the collection plate, and know your offerings go to pay lawyers and court lawsuits for pedophile priests and cover-up bishops, humm?

We, as a family, have decided to no longer contribute to the Catholic Church, basically for the reasons you cite. Our kids have all decided to stop attending, and we're not far behind. Even with the new Pope (who is genuinely trying to reform the church), we have made the decision it is not for us, after 40+ years of devotion.
I know many other families that are refusing to contribute, too.

I stopped attending 30 years ago. What bothers me the most. A person can attend faithfully 50,60,70 years. Go into a nursing home for several years and no longer be a member of a church and good luck trying to find one that will hold a Catholic funeral for you.
Seen this first hand several times.

I don't think that being in a nursing home means you cannot belong to a parish.

The Deacon ran Father Mike out of St Pius. Now the Deacon is gone. I am sick of the politics. I have stopped giving and quit going. The Bishop has lost control of the churches and schools.
