Why are prople ticketed for no seat belts and not for using cell phones while driving.Cells are far more dangerous. With a seat belt your only endangering yourself. With a cell phone,God knows how many.

Why can't we focus on catching criminals and terrorists instead of nickel and diming motorists with silly laws like this?

The current cell phone law is barely enforced, so why bother with another law that will also be ignored?

You are far more likely to die in a car accident then by a terrorist...I'd worry more about the moron that texts while driving then bin laden

You are absolutely right. People think that they are not bothering anyone with what they do in their car, but driving is by far the riskiest behavior most of us engage in. The questions is, will people actually stop texting whild driving because they can get a ticket for it? The answer, just like with cell-phone use, and even speeding, is probably no. Isn't there a "reckless driving" charge already on the books that could be applied to people who are putting others at risk?

What's the point of making texting illegal?
Talking on a cell phone while driving is illegal and I see people doing it all of the time because the law is not enforced. Do you know why it's not enforced? Because the worst offenders are the police.
These laws are necessary but not worth the paper that they are written on.

Oh good.... another law the Buffalo police will never enforce. Ever see a Buffalo cop ticket anyone for cell phone use?

Heck, I can text, drink and still swerve to miss a deer. It's my car, what I do in it is my business not the laws.

You are suppose to be able to contact the police departments with the patrol car number and the location of the car and the police are supposed to be repremanded. Don't know if this actually happens but truely the police are the biggest offenders. How can they enforce a law that they don't follow themselves?

multi-tasking! Alot of companies look at this as growth for their industry. Im looking at it in a way that endangers not only an intelligent person like yourself but others too.
