The more dumbed down, mediocre, media besotted zombies populating the country the more the politicians can get by with it. All the politician's talk about needing to end gov dependency is just that, talk. Both parties are guilty. They are only around to line their own pockets and to make a place in history for themselves.
It's true. The rich politicians like Romney and all the others who are against abortion and birth control want as many poor kids to be born as possible, so they can grow up and slave at poor jobs to keep making the uber rich richer. Those who don't work, they simply want to starve to death.
You are totally right about not letting people have child after child, just to get welfare. No one should be allowed to have kids unless they can prove that they can support them, and in my opinion, a lot of people should have to pass a mental health examination, poor, middle class, or rich, due to the child abuse that runs rampant in this world.

Republicans have cut jobs in the inner city. Taken out stores, even. And there are many white girls who have different babies with different daddies. Your stereotype isn't working.

Put funds into the inner city. As much as the funds the taxes pay to make sure oil gets welfare checks and corporate farmers makes a profit even when an act of god hits.

Put your compassion to where it counts and match the welfare given to the rich to the poor.

Congress has cut back on affordable section 8 housing and in most tea party states, the back log for Section 8 is over two years. Why do you think the homeless population has sky rocketed?

Want to Increase Homelessness? GOP Plans New Affordable Housing Cuts
by Randy Shaw‚ Nov. 20‚ 2013
digg
As we enter the holiday season, House Republicans are planning to again play Scrooge. In this case, it means turning their backs on the housing needs of millions of ill-housed and homeless Americans. It’s bad enough that federal housing assistance is provided to only 25% of eligible households, but unless House Republicans agree to a budget plan by December 13 (which is deemed very unlikely) another 125,000-185,000 families will lose housing vouchers. If you wonder why cities across the nation are seeing rising homelessness, these ongoing federal cuts are the answer.

Barbara Sard, a longtime housing policy expert with the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities, has written a piece for Rooflines that describes the impact of these imminent cuts on low-income families. Her article is another reminder that from 1949 until the Reagan Presidency, it was the federal government that had primary responsibility for ensuring safe and affordable housing for all Americans.

http://truth-out.org/news/item/10924-section-...

Section 8 Waitlists Don't Have to Be a Mile Long: Federal Housing Policy Should Stop Favoring Wealthier Homeowners

Imagine an overwhelmingly regressive welfare program, taking money from low- and moderate- income individuals and disproportionately benefiting people with incomes over $100,000. This policy would allow the rich and upper-middle classes to consume more while leaving working-class and poverty-stricken citizens without the aid they desperately need. Imagine that this same policy allows for inefficient resource use and causes stress on urban infrastructure. Imagining a policy like this is difficult and almost unfathomable because most Americans, when they think of welfare, think of policies that help and aid the poor in order to give them a more level playing field. In the very least, Americans think of policies that aim to change poor peoples' behaviors. Even the most conservative pundit would find a welfare policy that is so obviously skewed to the wealthy to be strange. However, these seemingly contradictory principles are all embodied in one of the United States' most expensive welfare policies: federal housing policy.

Kinda contradict yourself, don't you?

First, you talk about birth control removal for the poor, along with access to abortions. Two things the rich have which is why the republicans won't overturn abortion.

Then you go on and talk about the poor women DELIBERATELY having children just to "get welfare".

I didn't say it "paid so much". Usually those who keep having kids to get stamps and the money.....no, It's not a lot of money.....do so to sell the stamps for money to get drugs, and use most of the welfare money to support their drug habit. The children are just pawns to them to get what they want. I did not say remove birth control from the poor.....hell no!

Exactly.
They also use the welfare bums as scapegoats, someone to blame to keep the public from noticing what they are doing.

Children should be a treasure not just something that is created to earn a gov check. Many of the mental health issues we are seeing are caused by the gov and big pharma flooding the market with toxic pills. They are easy enough to get when they should only be for the very sick. They keep the people as zombies just like the TV does. Only more effectively. They also keep the prisons filled which is another money maker with prisons being privatized.

It is BS that they can't find jobs. My husband has tried to hire some of them. They will not work worth a damn, they will steal though. They show up long enough to steal whatever they can and they think they should be the boss not him.

Banks make a fortune on interest when they provide loans to the government for the food stamp program.
I am willing to bet that this "grant" is money borrowed from the banks which tax paying workers will have to repay at $0.60 on the dollar borrowed!
And law makers will continue to borrow as long as the bank lobby give a cut of the money they steal from the taxpayers!

Lilith.........Reminds me of a certain couple out here. The girl had one kid, and was pregnant with another one in a years time, and had an abortion because she didn't want another kid so soon. Then, her boyfriend suggested that they have another kid so they could get a 3 bedroom apartment with washer/dryer hook-up, and that's exactly what she did. That little girl was born so they could get washing machine!( Hud only had washer hook ups in the 3 bedrooms, and you had to have an extra kid to get one )
This same lovely couple gets a lot of stamps and exchange them for drugs.....then beg for food the rest of the month because they know that family members will help because they don't want to see the kids go hungry.
The wonderful boyfriend also made the statement.....Now I'm not working at McDonald's flipping burgers....It's degrading! Yet it is honorable to steal and deal drugs, which is exactly what he does. That blew my mind when I heard he said that!
I feel sorry for those children, as I do all kids in a situation like this. All people like this should have their kids taken away and put in good homes. When these kids end up staying with parents like that, they usually end up just like them, because that is all they are taught to do, and it turns into an endless cycle. The mother was brought up to do drugs and steal, and that is the kind of person she turned into. A lot of people should not be allowed to have kids, and the kids who are born deserve to be put in a good home before their lives are ruined. It's a tragedy.
They have already taught their young son, who is around 5, to lie and used him to blackmail an uncle of hers.

Who are "they" and what percentage of welfare do "they" represent?

Where's your data on this crap, anyway?

http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/ofa/resource/...

Almost half of TANF families had no adult recipients. About 49 percent of TANF families had only one adult recipient, and 5 percent included two or more adult recipients. In 23 States, the District of Columbia and two Territories, there were no two-parent family cases aided with Federal TANF funds or State MOE funds. Some of these States served two-parent families with State funds that were not claimed toward the MOE requirement (i.e., in solely State-funded programs).

Eighty-two percent of TANF families received SNAP benefits in FY 2010, which is consistent with previous levels. These families received average monthly SNAP benefits of $378. In addition, 97 percent of TANF families received medical assistance in FY 2010. Of closed-case families, 81 percent received SNAP benefits in the month of closure and 95 percent received medical assistance in the month of closure.

Figure A illustrates the reasons for case closure in FY 2010. However, understanding the reasons for case closure is limited by the fact that States reported 21.6 percent of all cases as closed due to “other” unspecified reasons. For example, while independent studies have typically found that half or more of families that stop receiving assistance leave as a result of employment, States reported only 16.6 percent of cases closing due to employment. Many closures due to employment are coded as failure to cooperate or as some other category because at the point of closure, the agency often is unaware that the client became employed

Listen ass, I did not say that the majority who receive welfare and snap are abusing the system. From what I have read, there is a fairly small percentage who do, compared to the freebies and corporate welfare that people like Romney take advantage of. Solving the problem of those who do abuse the welfare system, is easy to fix. Quit allowing them to pop out kid after kid, continuing the cycle through generation after generation.

Show me where they are rewarded for each child they have. Please do.

And show me how long this generational thing lasts, because it's been changed to two years on Taniff since Clinton. It was called the Welfare to Work program then. And you don't get rewarded for more children.

I never said that they did. The topic here is the tax money that goes to the poor and around here that means drugged up POS that will not work. They'd rather steal and deal and work the system which is the only kind of work they will do.
