If someone would just run against him, but then again him and his daughter count the votes shop it probably wouldn't matter.

First of all Terry Williams is one of the best mayors on the east coast. He is known to be a master grant writer and also has a IQ that is considered genius, and just in case you have forgotten, others have ran against him only to fail, and thank the good Lord above they did, or we could of really had something to talk about. He has done more for this town than any mayor Spencer has ever had, and there will be no one that will even come close to what he has accomplished. As for saying his daughter and him count the votes, there has never been a more ridiculous comment ever made. County clerk Charlie White and his office count the votes and always have. His daughter is married to the current prosecutor, Josh Downey, and he would never let that happen. It is very easy to research things before putting them on this forum. It just goes to show just how uneducated this community is by saying things due to emotions. I can honestly say that the day Terry Williams leaves the office of mayor will be a very sad day for the city of Spencer. I am sure that when that day comes Spencer will fall in line with all the other struggling towns in this state. Spend some time researching our town and the surrounding towns and see if you don't stand corrected. I consider it a honor to live in a thriving town like Spencer, and personally thank the honorable mayor for spending the time that he does to make sure our little town has what it does. I would be surprised that the people who complain even vote. We had a real low turn out yesterday, so thanks for all who took the time to do your civic and American duty, and cast your ballot. It's comments like these that make Spencer look uneducated, and like everyone was a offspring of a family reunion. It takes no more than a first grade education to see that Mayor Williams is among the elite, and we should all be thankful for what we have. May God continue to bless our mayor and our little town.

It's comments like these that really show ones intelligence!! Seriously, could you not use your brain for something better to say than this kind of garbage!!! Must be a family reunion offspring who believes everything someone else has said, and are only jealous of other peoples success... Remember when you look in the mirror that it's comments like this that has you where you are today!

What he has done for the town of Spencer speaks for itself, and what he does on his own time is his own business. Rumors are rumors and should be regarded with very little sustenance, and from the way you put down your phonics says a lot about what you do on your own time. See how it feels. Jealously is as cruel as the grave, and will never do anything but cause hate and discontent. The honorable Mayor Williams is one of the best mayors east of the Mississippi river, and his actions speak loudly. Spencer has come a long way, and you can rest assured that NO ONE else could even come close to doing the job that he has done, and its very obvious!!! Karma's a bit@h and has a funny way of dealing with people that spread unsubstantiated gossip. Life's incredible sense of humor will visit you soon if it hasn't already...LOL

This comment makes no sense. We have all kinds of businesses and jobs in Spencer, not to mention Mustang Survival is also coming to town. We have a Walmart and all kinds of fast food, and others as well. Take a moment and compare our town to the ones of similar size and see how we measure up. The majority have spoken by casting their ballots, and if you want to complain, find something legit, not just random garbage that make no sense at ALL... And by the way, I am quite sure his insurance company is doing quite well, and once again, what does that have to do with anything??????? Take a moment and think about your posting, instead of gibberish controlled by emotion because you didn't get your way, or better yet things aren't as you think they should be. He will control this town for as long as he likes, and you my friend will just have to deal with it. Thank the good Lord for the voters that cast their ballots, and I would love to see someone run against him so we can all see just how bad he will make them look.

You say we have a lot of business in Spencer....we do but Spencer is a fairly small town, we have 4 drug stores, at least 6 insurance agencies and 3 banks. Not to mention the resturants, apparently the mayor likes burgers and pizza, because that's basically all we have in Spencer. We had Pizza Hut and Subway and even McDonalds for pizza....why did we need Ginos? Why can't we get a nice family steakhouse like Ryans or Ponderosa, or even something different like Long John Silvers or taco bell? Everyone has to go out of Spencer to shop. If you have a special occasion coming up, you can't shop for clothes and shoes at Dollar General and Walmart (which is the only clothing retail stores in Spencer)...unless you go to the thrift stores (which I have nothing against). If you want to buy a nice pair of shoes, you have to go out of town. Half the time out "super" Walmart don't even have what you're looking for, so you have to go to Ripley or Charleston to Walmart. And lets not even mention the $15000.00 clock that no one can see from Main Street. I'm sure there was other things more important than this clock. We have one clock on main street that everyone can see, why would they even put one on a back street? And believe me, if I lived in City limits, I would vote.

Do you really think that a man of Mayor Williams's intelligence would ever pay 15,000 dollars for a clock? I have it on good authority that he only paid 1 dollar, that's right, one dollar for the clock. Steve Hughes got the clock for the town and the honorable Mayor got a kick back on the clock that was blown way out of proportion by our failing newspaper office. Hedges wants to blame our town for his failing paper in a time of technology, when it's inevitable that technology will beat out a newspaper. I cannot understand why a very few want to talk trash about our town "missyme" when the majority has spoken, and that is from a proud registered voter that does live in the city limits. I would make a very safe wager that when the day comes that our good and honorable Mayor does decide to retire, our town will only survive on what he has done for a limited time, and eventually it will become like all of the other struggling communities all around us. Our town rocks and so does our Mayor, and this is fact, not some uneducated comment ruled by emotion or because I didn't get my way. I will assure that as long as the honorable Mayor Williams wants to be Mayor, he will be, and only when he wants to give it up will someone else get it. Time will tell, and then you will see just how lucky we are to have a man that cares enough to keep the office and put up with all the rumors that surround his office. The rumors do nothing but motivate Him to stay, thank the good Lord above. We could of had some of those that have tried to run against him as Mayor, then we would have plenty to complain about. I personally than Mayor Williams for all that he has done and will do. And by the way, I have never had to go to Ripley to get anything, nor would I do something so unreasonable, unless I just wanted to complain, and I for one live quite well, and it's because our little town supplies my needs. Myself along with all the others that voted have spoken, and will continue to elect Mayor Williams as long as he wants the office..

So typical, someone always comes up with this when the are defeated, Try again, just someone who is smart enough to see things the way they are, and should be. The ballot spoke volumes, of course you wouldn't know anything about voting, just b@tching, uhh??? Sometimes the truth hurts, so deal with it...lol

People are known to own two homes, and go ahead and run against him, YOU WILL LOOSE, just like the others that have had the bright idea of doing the same thing, only to loose. Why is it so hard for the very limited few who are against him, to accept that our mayor is first class, and does a better job than all the mayors in the surrounding communities. The proof is there, and it is very obvious when you look at the evidence, like what he does for Spencer compared to other towns, and lets look at the free money and grants he has gotten Spencer, compared to the other surrounding towns. Can't argue with the evidence, and it's there for those that can see, and not just want to cause hate and discontent. Those against Mayor Williams are a limited few, so just deal with it, go ahead and run against him so you will clearly see what the registered voters want, maybe when you lose, your eyes will be opened, and you will figure out that you are a legend in your own mind only, and to the rest of us who have commonsense, and know what is best for our town and who the best man for the job is. Keep up the good work Mayor Williams, you have enough voters who like you to keep you in that office.
