I am from Rogersville, TN and looking for the grave of Scotty Trexler, son of Tammy Trexler. This childs death remains in the hearts of many Rogersville citizens. Any info on lil Scotty's Grave or his mother Tammy Trexler would be greatly appreaciated. here is some more info on the case.

Kerry Phillip Bowers lived with his girlfriend, Tammy
Trexler, and her son, Scotty, in a trailer on Thorps Chapel Road in
Hawkins County, Tennessee. Bowers, who was unemployed, babysat
while the child's mother was at work. Bowers brutalized Scotty
Trexler, inflicting beatings, burns, and other abuses in numerous,
separate assaults extending over a period of months. Despite the
seriousness of his various injuries, Scotty rarely received medical
treatment. His mother explained that she feared he would be taken
away. On May 29, 1987, Scotty Trexler died at the age of 21 months.
The forensic pathologist who performed the autopsy described
the child's injuries as multiple and severe. The child suffered
extensive facial burns, chest and back injuries, bulging bruises on the
upper inside of each thigh near the scrotum, and hemorrhaging
underneath his skin. The adductor muscles, which pull the legs
together, had been torn apart, and each hip joint had been yanked
from its socket. Multiple injuries caused a compression of the brain
into the spinal column, which in turn cut off the blood supply to the
respiratory organs, ultimately causing the child's death.

On June 3, 1987, grandparents buried 21-month-old Scotty Trexler in China Grove, N.C.

Scotty's 18-year-old mother, Tammy Trexler and her 21-year-old boyfriend Kerry Bowers missed the funeral. they were in the Hawkins County Jail charged with aiding and abetting, and first degree murder, respectively. While a formal cause of death had not been issued at the time of their arrest, pending the outcome of an autopsy, the doctor who treated Scotty at the hospital emergency room told detectives that the child had died from "repeated beatings with blunt force."

The doctor also said that the child was covered with bruises "from head to toe," that the bruises were in varying stages of development resulting from beatings over an extended period of time and that Scotty had extensive internal injuries. In March 1988, a jury found Bowers guilty of murder and Trexler of aggravated assault.

In April 1988, Governor Ned McWherter signed the "Scotty Trexler Bill" into law opening the door for first degree murder convictions for child abusers whose actions result in the death of a child."

I know lil Scotty is reasting in the arms of our Master and is now safe but how could a mother let her child go through such abuse. My heart has bled for this child and my emotions are very strong. God rest his soul.
