Any of the school comm. members who thought he answered questions well or interviewed well were not listening to the same answers that I was. Wow, unreal. I hope they come up with something better.

Not 12 hours after the interview - the chief candidate for the super job withdraws his application. So so sad- now we go from a national superiintendent finalist to a fool form within. Dr. Namin saw the level of disfunction in our schools and even with a Doctorie in mathamatics he figured he could solve this one.

God help us ! Is there hope?

Are you kidding me!! Kathy Amuso said it just didn't feel right, and Darlington and Eberwein did!!! Maybe she should call the psychic hotline the next time and skip the interview process altogether.

I heard today that the school committee is spinning this into a yarn that they are the ones who have rejected the only ray of hope this school district has seen in a long time. How unreal and sad this situation is. We have now had a Mary Poppins and Alfie in the Superintendent's office. Sitting on our school committee is a Silver Backed Gorilla, Walrus, Lemur, Hedgehog and Ferret. The decision making process is a long and arduous one, especially when even something precious is not recognized when it's in front of you.

Did you even watch the interview??? He had the most incomplete idiotic answers I've ever heard in any interview situation. He came across as shady and ridiculous. If that's great to you than obviously you're lower than whale shit genius.

I guess based on your logic it would mean that those involved in him being judged as a National finalist for Superintendent of the year in 2011 we're lower than Whiite Whale shit too. In addition, to the available hard data on line proving his ability to turn schools around - following your logic, that too is just evidene of whale s-it. Not to mention his academic credentials which are enough to choke a horse and make prior Pittsfield Superintendents look like Preschool students.

Get a life you bottom feeder! Go back to your pig pen - you are not even worthy of further responses.

You are clueless. He shows huge character wanting to ditch his current district after one year??? Yeah there's a strong personality there. What's to say if there something he doesn't like in the Pittsfield district in one year that he isn't trying to break his contract then? Please. You are a clown troll. If he was all that great you'd think he'd be able to piece some coherent thoughts together a little better. Where I do agree with you is that this school committee is just all over the place in general. However, they got this one right. So respond or don't I could care less, clearly you have a crush on the candidate in some way so maybe he can live in THREE places next time and claim that he'd be a strong rooted mainstay in the community, or maybe he'd be here and then leave after 2 years and then add another position in such a short amount if time...stellar candidate. Have a lovely day in the bottom of the ocean.

Insane, what is wrong with you? We have had no mainstays in the superintendent's office and lost our chance with Cameron. How base can you get saying that SO SAD has feelings for the candidate that had the wisdom to walk away from this terrible mess. Can't you have an open conversation without being so verbally abusive to another person. I feel very sorry for you and hope you get Social Skills Training in Communication.

I wasn't rude first, however, I love how they are claiming he backed out first when he wasn't voted to be hired as a super right after the interview. I don't feel that he was a good choice, sorry if you disagree with me. Personally, I wish Malkas would've gotten a shot but obviously the comm had other plans. So if I was being rude I honestly apologize. Just hard to see how anyone could see him as a great candidate based on that interview. So I take back any rude words for sure. But my opinion is just that, it's mine and there's no way I would've hired that guy, too damn shady and answered so many questions so oddly. No thanks. School Comm. should've definitely gotten on the ball sooner to start this whole process, I hate that now it'll be an interim basis but whatever, it is what it is. So again, I apologize for the rudeness, have a good one.

While choosing Malkas would have made the process simpler and easier for all involved- she would eventually become a huge liability to the city. She knows the dirty deeds of Jake and has not spoken out. She is hoping to flee town before the truth comes out. Likewise, many on the committee should also be held accountable to tell the public truth as to why Jake is leaving. So many know about the white elephant in the room and our city. Maybe, someone could start by asking Jake why he no longer lives at home with his wife and family in Dalton.... the family he so wanted to spend more time with when he announced his need to resign. So Jake why are you not living under the same roof as your beloved family? Why sleep on the couch at your Dad's house in Westfield.. Must be a long drive every AM. Is it possible the little apple Jake does not fall far from Big daddy's tree. Guess you learned from the best Jake... But don't worry Jake the truth will come out.

Thank you for your apology, Insane. I wonder if the candidate's answers seemed hard to understand because he has English as a Second Language. Can we all consider the children of Mr. Eberwein and the person he is or was involved with. Everyone knows about the inappropriate level of this behavior but how sad for the true victims in this situation, both the children of the adults who chose to act out on behalf of their own desires and the students within the Pittsfield Public Schools.
