Ok here is the break down. Mr. Miles wants to keep the job in house for both the interim and permanent superintendents. Why is that? Let me answer that for you, he wants to make sure his buddy Mr. Woods the current A.D. gets another backroom deal. Bring Espindle back? Ok the budget comment made was a solid reason. But this lady soaked the tax payers for how much? And yes Ms. Elie had a lot to do with Espindle contract! Wait a minute didn’t Ms. Elie just make a motion to push the A.D. job to full time? Ms. Elie “aka” Backroom Bonnie appears to have something up her sleeve, Nope it’s just a note/talking points from Mr. Woods. Hey Tim how many children do you teach in that class? Or are you just getting paid $80K plus a year to be a part time A.D.(someone should look into this). That whole situation breaks every ethics reform law. They actually publicly name people they want to have the job and they haven’t even posted it yet! But the papers and forums write “it’s just an idea” give me a break do you think we are that dumb?

Mr. Sheehan pull the wool from over your eyes and look around, this is classic Dracut politics. You, Mr. a Sheehan made your very first motion to stop these shenanigan’s. Mr. Miles and Ms. Elie are pulling a fast one on the town at the taxpayer’s expense. Jump off the ship before they take you down with them.

Mr. Mercier and Dr. McNamara are the only 2 people on the board that are actually using some common sense to approach this.

Having said that....(anyone see Curb your enthusiasm this past Sunday might find that little statement funny) anyway Mr. Mullin giving a resignation after only a few months sucks and the board is going to have tough decision ahead. I hope they keep past experiences minds and use NEW ideas to get a qualified non-politico person for the very important job of superintendent without getting there dirty damn hands in it in order to benefit their personal agenda! We will be watching.

If I were Elaine Espindle, I would consider the offer of interim Superintendant a slap in the face! The School Committee needs to get their heads out of their *ss and do what is right for the school system. Elaine is what is best for the school system, she knows how to run a school district! Offer her her job back! A concerned citizen who knows what goes on!

The Town of Dracut should be honored to have Mrs. Elaine Espindle back at the helm of the school system. These are extremely difficult financial times we are in and her expertise would certainly benefit the town and the schoolchildren. She clearly is not a "Dracut insider" and it was shameful how she was treated during the end of her contract. We would be in a lot worse shape if not for her and unfortunately a lot of the hard work she put in has been tossed by the current regime. We need a superintendent at the helm who can lead and emulate the job done by Mrs. Espindle. Please come back, Elaine!!!

She left the currenty system in a mess when she left! Don't beleive Mullin by any means was a good selection, but they need to take the politics out it!

The Taxpayers and Teachers of Dracut deserve leadership in the form of a new qualified Superintendent. Why does the school committee not want to promote from within?
Why do they foolishly spend taxpayer money to do national job search?
Why are they back peddling and hiring Espindle back?
Its time to move up and on, and treat this like a business. Give the position to the most qualified person in Dracut, either McNamara or Trouville. Either way each candidate is a win for the people of Dracut.

It doesn't surprise me that Mullin is leaving. I have not heard many good things about him from people who worked for him.

She certainly did NOT leave the system in a mess. It is thanks to her financial prowess that we have a brand new junior high and were able to expand the number of teaching jobs while she was there. Also, as I recall she did not have a bunch of administrators at her beck and call as Mullin now does. She did the work herself. She also attended most of the school events such as plays, banquets, award ceremonies, etc.

We need Elaine Espindle, or someone of her stature (which will be very tough to find) to lead the Dracut school system. By the way, we're up for accreditation and need someone strong and able to make tough decisions to help us through the process.

She DID leave the system in a mess!! For starters, she appointed/hired incompetent principals so that she could manipulate them. People who worked in Central HATED her condescending ways. She knowingly underfunded budgets. I guess that was her way of welcoming Dr. Mullin. The junior high is the most poorly designed building! Have you been in there? Lots of wasted space, shoddy construction, i.e leaky roof, mold, overall a very poor design!!!!!! There are at least 7 empty classrooms! Why??? There has been a shortage of teachers in that building for years. She didn't care about that!!! She just wanted the school built her way. Now, we're left with the aftermath. Wake up Concerned Taxpayer! She attended all events because she loved to be the center of attention. She acted like she was royalty-always needed to be escorted in and parking reserved. She was not well liked by her teachers either. Again, very condescending and unapproachable. During her "reign", morale was at the lowest point in years! We don't need/want to re-visit history. The school committee needs to STOP playing the political favor game!!!! Start the search for a permanent sup't. NOW!!!!
The future of our kids is at stake here! Stop trying to do favors for your cronies and stop wasting our hard-earned taxes!! It's time for the SC to MOVE FORWARD!!!!!

It's in the bag! This is a back room deal that was consumated by puppet master Miles, puppet Ellie, and puppet Sheehan just to line her pockets with taxpayers money. Didn't she get enough with her million dollar 10 year contract! Discusting....
